    Hi Robbie, I done just that, traded my fully loaded SDR for a V4SP and all I can say is WOW! I liked the KTM but this is different class in every respect! When I leave it in town there is always admirers around it and people commenting when I return. Now that just didn't happen with the KTM nice as it was. Keep wishing mate.

      Nice one and fair play to you.
      I have to say I’ve had the opposite with my SDR, especially when I first got it as it was one of the early gen 3’s around. Proper head turner at bike meets.
      Amazing having the SP. Proper jealous lol. I think my sub count needs to go up a little along with some extra views to enter that League. 😁. Enjoy.

    I have the evo sdr...love the way it adjusts/hankers down in a blink of an eye on how you ride it with the auto adjust. I personality couldnt justify 4k just for an exhaust let alone the full system. My evo sdr does it all very admirably well. As for the pegs and bar reach on the sdr.....its perfect for me. The Ducati looks the muttz, sounds good in std trim but heck to the finance difference for what your actually getting. Thats alot of spare cash for playing with on the sdr. Good to see you back out on a bike, top man.

      @@paulpaterson992 Thanks pal, I appreciate it.
      You’re totally right it’s a big chunk of change and the SDR ticks all the boxes for me too.
      If the pound notes had of been in my favour I’d have wanted a longer ride on it. An hour isn’t enough. Especially to play with the settings. But as I say in the video it had me reeled in.

    Lucky enough to own an SFV4s in grey nero. Best bike I’ve ever owned. Stupid amount of power. Literally a naked Pani.
    I may have opened it up to 275kmph, on track, was still pulling, I chickened out.
    Wind surprisingly good, no issue unless doing stupid speeds (way over speed limits) , just tuck like a sport bike.
    Such a comfortable bike. 6 hours easy a day in saddle.
    Agree re stock exhaust, plenty bloody loud.

    Hi Rob, without doubt that V4 engine is something the KTM can’t compete with but on looks I personally think the SDR wins. Also the exhaust sounds well enough but looks like a squashed wheelie bin 😂. I’m guessing they offered you sub 10K px but even with the wobbly tooth indicator switch you can’t give up the SDR for that. Stick with the BEAST my friend, take care 👍

    • @Robbiemoto
      @Robbiemoto  3 месяца назад

      Haha. Never looked at the exhaust like that. It does sound damn good though for a standard can. They offered me exactly £10k.
      Both bikes have their plus’s and minus’s. I’d need to ride the V4 for longer than an hr really to properly get to know it.
      But after just an hr yes I would have swapped. But as said a longer time on it may have changed my mind.

    • @pauljoel4514
      @pauljoel4514 3 месяца назад

      We have a couple of Ducati V4’s in our rider group and one thing that is very evident is that they are really thirsty. I would say they are 25% less fuel efficient than the SDR, but I guess that’s the price of the extra HP. I’m sure that when you get the Duke back you will remember that awesome character which sets the SDR apart from the other super nakeds. 👍

    • @Robbiemoto
      @Robbiemoto  3 месяца назад

      I recall watching a review video on the V4 and yes they are very thirsty. I think it was said when you get playful with the throttle it’s around 100 miles to the tank.
      That was a factor on my mind too.
      And you’re totally right when the 1290 comes back it’ll be like riding another bike. I’ve become quite used to the 690.

    I wanted to ask how come not moving from 1290 to 1390 but V4S is on another world: it's a V4, looks better and is faster...and holds better it's retail value than a 1390. P.S. Thanks for the 60fps, much smoother for the eyes. 👌

      @Robbiemoto  3 месяца назад +1

      Thanks. I think I just liked the idea of a different bike. For me there’s not much difference in riding between the 1290 and 1390 to warrant a move.
      I hadn’t planned at looking at a different bike. It was just by chance that I was filming the panagale and saw the V4s sitting there. I then just started talking to the sales team about prices.

    Typical dealers, want top dollar for their bikes but give you nothing for yours. I don't deal with them anymore they are rip off merchants. Buy and sell private now. Im over the obsession with horse power now. Those bikes are unusable on the roads these days. Love my Triumph scrambler 👍

      I wouldn’t say they are unusable but agree 150-
      200hp isn’t needed and you can’t really wring the necks of them on the road but
      my 1290 can be rode like Miss Daisy all day long.

    The reason the KTM loses so much money is because everyone knows how unreliable they are ( including dealers!), I loved my SDR 1290, but it only lasted 500 miles before i had to have it picked up by a recovery truck, lost confidence in it so got my money back

    • @Robbiemoto
      @Robbiemoto  3 месяца назад +1

      That’s a real bummer and sorry you had that but sorry I have to disagree with labelling all the same.
      Many people have owned them like me and have had very few issues if any.
      Like a lot of manufacturers if you go on their respected forums, fb pages people are only gonna post about the issues. Yep KTM has had issues but for eg so has BMW with GS drive shafts and exploding 1000rr engines.
      The main reason for devaluation is the 1390 and KTM dropping the prices so hence previous models are gonna take a big hit.
      I do hope you’ve had better luck with the replacement. Take it easy and ride safe.
