SO amazing! She is really beautiful just like the dish 😍 it looks really amazing and delicious thank you for sharing a new recipe with me I have to try it as I am a vegetarian and veggies of course are my fave!!!💕
Lisa, you are seriously the best instructor. Your presentations are well explained and executed. Thanks for making healthy and gluten free a lot simpler and joyful, especially for the gluten free and autoimmune community.
Man I love how inspired you get by cultural cuisine when you travel. It's so awesome to receive the benefits of that passion and now I really look forward to what I hope is the opening of a new chapter of approachable french recipes 😂 You really have a talent for breaking down complex and daunting things into something that seems simple and fun to tackle.
Also, thank you for always doing a bite shot. I remember watching something back in the day on the "behind the scenes" of the Food Network and they said that from a production standpoint it was one of the most important pieces of their storytelling and being able to actually sell the dish to people. Apparently it made a huge difference in the consumer reception of food related media and it's something that I've often found lacking in the internet food space. Incidentally Stephanie Jaworski from Joy of Baking always made a point to do it and I've loved watching her videos for years. The "conversational" style of this video's tasting shot really makes it feel like you're trying something at a restaurant with a friend who also loves food.
I definitely prefer the sliced and layered version because of the visual beauty. Appearance is a large part of the enjoyment of food for me. Thank you!
Wow, the colors and the freshness of the ingredients are so appealing! I can't wait to give this a try. Ratatouille is such a classic, and this version looks amazing!
The very best ratatouille I ever ate was in France and the vegetables were in mini cubes, cooked perfectly. It was many years ago, but obviously left a big impression on me. I will try yours - it's looks delicious! Thank you for your recipe.
Not only is this a beautiful dish, it is also a fabulous recipe. Thank you Lisa for sharing your magnificent recipes. Congratulations on 10 years of creative excellence! ❤
I tried the “traditional” recipe and was not a fan, now this one looks great and I think the integrity of the vegetables is maintained, which is more what I like! Looks beautiful so may give it a try!!!
Thank you so much for this, Lisa! This Disney presentation recipe is the recipe I had been waiting for.🫶🏼 I found the recipe on another website, but I prefer your take on recipes and your instructional informative videos. My husband and family love my meals thanks to your videos.❤🤗🙏🏼
The ratatouille was excellent, bursting with delicious flavors! The insturactions were accurate as always👌🏻 The sliced version is so beautiful, waiting with anticipation for the traditional stew version😋
I love Ratatouille and I had all the ingredients so after I saw this I had to make it. I just used my simpler recipe as I had no-one to please but myself. This recipe would be great for a party and people would be SO impressed! It was delicious as always and I had it for dinner, AND for breakfast with an egg. I pretended it was shakshuka. ;-)
Hi my name is stephanie crumrine and I only knew how to make the stewy version and make it per my granddaughter's request after watching the movie and she still loves it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your version and will try it also. It looks so beautiful. Thank you.
I make a stew version with homemade sauce from roma tomatoes and fresh herbs, it is very good! I never saw the sliced version look so good, so I will be trying this one very soon! Happens to be my favorite disney movie as well! :) Love your videos!
It's like an art project, I am sure it's tasty. I enjoy the traditional ratatouille method, but I will have to give this a try and workout the mandolin.
Looks delicious! By the way, I have seen you using this pan and it’s cover for other recipes. I would like to know if you would ever have to choose in your kitchen a pan to bring with you, would that be one of those?
Could potato slices be added to this too? I know it would not be ratatouille but just a different variation. Would they cook evenly with other vegetables?
thx for another great recipe. I have one question, as zucchini are edible as raw, and egg-plants are not - I have a problem, when I do this kind of dish each time without mistake my eggplants are in, best case, semi raw and as such not edible in my humble opinion. And I tried to make them super thing, the result was just more watery dish. what am I doing wrong?
I love making ratatouille for getting in my vegies, I like to cut mine in chunks so I guess I like it more rustic looking and also I would never ever use a mandolin-I've known 3 people who have made trips to urgent care so it kinda scares me!
This is not ratatouille, and should never be called ratatouille. This is a replication of something seen in a cartoon. Albeit a very entertaining cartoon. But still, this should never be confused with the magnificent, lovingly simmered true version of ratatouille. .
Which ratatouille do you prefer - the sliced and layered version or the traditional vegetable stew version?? Let me know! xo - Lisa
Make it into a poll😉
Both! Could you post the stew version, too, please?
They are both good!
I prefer the sliced version.🤗
Stew
This woman does not age. She looks exactly the same as she did when she first started posting 8 years ago. Amazing.
Aw, you're so sweet! I definitely feel like I've aged 🤣
That's what eating healthily and being happy will do for you.

Thank you for including the jazz instrumental. It’s a nice addition. Another great video as always.
Glad you enjoyed that little tidbit 😊
Lisa, you are seriously the best instructor. Your presentations are well explained and executed. Thanks for making healthy and gluten free a lot simpler and joyful, especially for the gluten free and autoimmune community.

Thanks so much for your feedback! I hope to continue to travel the world and get inspired so I can re-create more dishes on my channel ❤
I definitely prefer the sliced and layered version because of the visual beauty. Appearance is a large part of the enjoyment of food for me. Thank you!
I totally agree!! 😊
I would love to see a video on the traditional one as well!

That is the traditional, rustic version which is also delicious! But definitely give this recipe a try. Hope you love it 😊

That’s so funny; my kids keep watching Ratatouille , the Disney movie, on repeat for the past month. You are on point, as always! ❤
I can't wait to try this. Yes - I have enjoyed a traditional style all my cooking days - but am eager to give this a try! Thank you!
I'm excited for you to try this sliced version! It presents so beautifully, especially for a dinner party 😊.
Thank you for this. I love that you showed and talked how to make it.
I tried the “traditional” recipe and was not a fan, now this one looks great and I think the integrity of the vegetables is maintained, which is more what I like! Looks beautiful so may give it a try!!!
Excited for you to try this version! Let me know how you like it 😊
Oh my goodness, YES, polenta, that sounds perfect
I want the traditional version, please - less time-consuming.
Noted! 😊
I really like to finish mine with a little goat cheese over rice or couscous
All great options! I'll have to try it with goat cheese next time.
Looks delicious Lisa 😍. On the to-do list for after summer 🙃

I think this is a great alternative to the regular ratatouille and it’s beautiful
And it's actually not that hard to make. Hope you love this version!
I love Ratatouille and I had all the ingredients so after I saw this I had to make it. I just used my simpler recipe as I had no-one to please but myself. Looks beautiful and delicious! I love the presentation of this version as opposed to the chopped version,
Agreed! This version is such a great dish to serve to guests.

I couldn't agree more! It's a great way to serve summer veggies.
Thank you, it looks delicious!
Such a delicious way to enjoy summer vegetables!

Definitely give this one a go! 😊
I want this for my birthday ❤
Oh my goodness, your ratatouille looks soooooo delicious 😋
It's like an art project, I am sure it's tasty. I enjoy the traditional ratatouille method, but I will have to give this a try and workout the mandolin.
Beautiful. ratatouille looks good too. 😊
I am gonna make it next week. Can't wait
Excited for you to try this one 😊
Please provide recipe for traditional ratatouille- thanks!
This looks amazing I'm going to make this next week

Sure, I'd also like to see the other recipe--it sounds quicker. This recipe looks delicious and beautiful.
I would love to see the stew version. Thx! It looks beautiful.
Will keep that in mind!
Thank you.
I’m so making this❤️🔥
Wonderful 😊👌 I think that will be more taste with mozzarella, like in Italy ❤
I would like to see you make the traditional recipe too! ❤
I'll keep that in mind for a future recipe!
Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. I made ratatouille before but my vegetables were not that good looking like yours. Great recipe!!!🤗
Excited for you to try this version!
@@Downshiftology I can’t wait!!!Thank you.🤗
Beautiful
That would be FIRE with a spread of Pesto after baking.
Looks delicious!
By the way, I have seen you using this pan and it’s cover for other recipes.
I would like to know if you would ever have to choose in your kitchen a pan to bring with you, would that be one of those?
Great video. 🎉
Lovely
❤❤ from India
Yum! Do you think we could add a few lentils to the sauce?
Looks good 👍
beautiful dish!
btw when are we gonna get a tour of your new place??
It's still a work in progress! Once I'm done, I'll be sure to share more footage :)
Looks yummm
I would like to see the rustic version, please.
Bonjour! Looks amazing but this is not a ratatouille but a Tian de légumes.
Traditional recipe please
Could potato slices be added to this too? I know it would not be ratatouille but just a different variation. Would they cook evenly with other vegetables?
thx for another great recipe. what am I doing wrong?
I love making ratatouille for getting in my vegies, I like to cut mine in chunks so I guess I like it more rustic looking and also I would never ever use a mandolin-I've known 3 people who have made trips to urgent care so it kinda scares me!
The traditional chunky version is great as well! As for a mandoline - you could also wear a glove to be safe 😊
This recipe looks delicious. But I'm allergic to eggplant. Any suggestions for a replacement for the eggplant?
You can swap it for more of the other vegetables!
What would you say if I added cannellini beans to the sauce? And yes, blend them smooth.
You could if you wanted it thicker! But I find that you won't need it.
You could if you wanted! It would make the sauce a lot thicker.
What are chopped eerrbs?
Happy birthday! Aug 31st!! ❤🎉
Is this one of those dishes that it’s sum is better than its parts. Not a big fan of eggplant or zucchini, but I want to make it.😂
This is not the real recipe of ratatouille... this is a 'tian de légumes' in french. But both are delicious 😊
Yes! I talk more about the differences in the video and in my blog post 😊
WOW! A vegetable kaleidoscope! A real feast for the eyes. 👍👍
I couldn't agree more! It's always a treat to enjoy a beautiful looking dish.
Please show us the original . I have my own version of Ratatouille as well
While this ratatouille is more akin to a French tian or Thomas Keller's confit byaldi
Hy
Your method is better--no rats involved!☺
Can we get a new kitchen tour?
My home is still a work in progress! Once I'm done and feel ready to reveal, I definitely will :)
No meat try putting a slice or two of pepperoni
This is not ratatouille. It's either Confit Byaldi or Tian ... but it's definitely not ratatouille.
This is not ratatouille, and should never be called ratatouille. This is a replication of something seen in a cartoon. Albeit a very entertaining cartoon. But still, this should never be confused with the magnificent, lovingly simmered true version of ratatouille. .
Grow up
American ratatouille tastes stale & salty........
You don't pronounce the last "e" just say rawtawtouil 😅no e thanks 🙏
Yes please show your audience how to make the traditional ratatouille. Thank you so much! You’re amazing! 🧅 🍆 🍅
I'll keep that in mind for when I'm testing recipes! 😊
