God, I miss the 80s. It was a freaking BLAST
This is from 1991, but the early 90s were awesome as well.
Is that why it says "1988 Atlantic Recording Corp.", at the end of the video?
@@Retro_Man_76 1988
The 80s were the absolute best, the most outrageous time to be young that I could possibly imagine. I seriously never expected to see the 90s.
Ya ain't joking
Kix is certainly underrated. "Blow My Fuse" still holds a place in my top 5 albums.
Absolutely
Amen
FUSE had no bad songs. Just dope the whole way
I had the cassette when it first came out and played the fuck out of it full blast
Every song on that album is good. This is my favorite.
Damn, I really like this band
One of the most underrated rock bands of the ‘80s
You got that right. Their live shows were great!
@dr.doctor9924
Saw them on their LAST tour this summer
Great show!
I got to see the next to last show they did in Hinckley MN. No way I was missing those guys.@@thecheese4255
This was filmed at Hammerjacks🤟
Love me some KIX
Can't believe that I didn't "discover" this band until the early 90's. this stuff was right up my alley. I'm 63 now in 2020 and still really get into it.
They are still amazing live! They are playing pretty regularly in MD and PA. Record label failed them
They were from Maryland, and for YEARS, were only big in the N.E. USA. I'm an Eastcoast Pennsylvania kid, so I was lucky to know older kids in 1981, who already loved KIX.
не ты один
I'm 66 and still rockin to hair bands and lovin it!
@@tonypierantozzi5534 ROCK IT OUT!!!
Kix was so much more than Dont close your Eyes, this whole album kicked ass, still does. Nothing like an 80's band to bring out the real talent, compared to today's shit, the 80's is still untouchable
I couldn’t agree more
Most under rated album ever!!
I remember getting the cd from bmg just for Piece of the Pie and realized later how many great songs were on it.
I grew up in Baltimore and probably saw KIX at least 40 times and they always killed it. They had so many good songs
@@gbaumessr.8435 I grew up in Baltimore too! Remember Hammerjacks? Love going there to see local bands and of course MDs own Kix!
it's sad to me how many people don't realize how talented these gifted musicians are
80´s....How I would like to go back to that time
It's 1988. The sun is setting. You're cruisin' the Sunset Strip, top down, mullet in the wind, in acid-washed jeans and leather. Blow My Fuse comes on the radio. You crank it to 10. Not a care in the world. Life is good.
Hell Yes. In 1988 I was living just up from the corner of Highland and Franklin in Hollywood, going to GIT. Girlfriend had a convertible just like you described, I would do anything to go back to the '80s.
Nice recap of the good days of old.
No it's 2024 that was long time when people were still people 😅😂
Sounds like a dream ❤
Man I'm so glad this was the sound track of my youth, was so much fun.
Getting older but will never let this go!
I hear you
amen to that brother
Every time this song comes up on my playlist, I can't help but crank the volume up as high as possible
Always!
She dropped me the bomb
Well DUH
Wow, can't believe the amount of people still listening to this jam!
Yeah awesome 47 and still rocken.
I just heard this today in my dads truck and he said he used to jam out to this in the 80s when he was young like me now this is another one of my favorite rock songs I’ve heard in my life long live 80s rock and roll
Yea this is my daily working song
My dad worked with Steve still to this day we set up his equipment haha
Of course......still better than the shit being released today!! Blow my Fuse!
The pride of Maryland/Hammerjacks. KIX
Louie right place, right time , and legendary music unlimited parking under395 remember ? 🥳🥳🥳
@@SOLMF123 YES....killer concerts ofcourse.....party time...long lost memories,oh that was in dundalk,,girls ,girls,girls,,....
Oh what a blast from. The past. Seventh trumpet. I blew. Revelation.
2:06 This is why guys in the 80s scored so much: they were so gorgeous and confident. ❤❤❤
I'm from the 80,s and still laying it down with Ratt, and don't care if I get I Trouble, could be a Wanted Man!!
A good ole Rock song!💯💯
Stay out of my yard though!!!
One of the best bands of the 80s.... one of the most under rated bands ever!!! Killer music by killer musicians!!!
Thank you guys for so many years of Kick Ass Rock Music !! From the bottom of our hearts - Thank you !!
I still listen to this album on a regular. These guys and Cinderella were so underrated. Fantastic and beats anything today. Still listen to Rainbow and Dokken too. 80s hairbands were the best!!! The kids today are missing out. My eight year old listens to this music with me and absolutely loves it. He's a huge Pink Floyd fan too because of his grandpa.
Overrated?
"UNDERRATED"
They’re underrated. One of my favorites 🤘🏻
Kik's was never overrated , by all means they were underrated to the point that it should have been a crime.
@@jameswood9057 I didn't edit my post. UNDER RATED. Honestly these guys in concert were amazing. Cinderella is still one of my favorite bands. They need rock music from the 80s to make a comeback. The only other music I listen to now besides this genre is Country.
Very underrated band! Killer vocals and bad ass musicianship. I've seen them in concert several times and they always put on one hell of a show. Thanks for their memories!
I couldnt figure out the intro for YEARS then one day I just played it suddenly like I already knew it.
1988 was a great time to be 19…
1988 was awesome!!! I was 21... Were you from Maryland? I grew up in the Silver Spring area. I saw Kix but I can't remember where... Maybe Hammer jacks.
Definitely one of the best live bands to ever grace the 80s scene. I learned this song a while back. The riff is absolutely killer! Very AC/DC ish but straight rock and roll.
I've seen Kix a couple times in the last few years and they sound amazing. Steve's voice stands out no matter who plays before or after them
The best fucking band out of Maryland!!!!! Going to miss them after September 17th!
Talk about an underrated band! The energy that KIX brings to their live shows is awesome. They are the perfect 80's rock n roll band. Great players, great songs, great in all directions.
Legends! Might have seen them 2 or 300 times during the 80's. Saw them a year ago and they are still insanely good. Going to see them in Nov 2019
Take me back to the 80s and drop my ass off..
Would love to c them!
Just turned 50 on the 25th. Still love this music
51 here. this stuff is timeless.
Me too just turned 50 ( unfortunately) metal till I die. 🤘
I remember the night we shot this video in Baltimore at hammer jacks and in the downtown area we had a lot of fun
I was a punk living next to the highway 2 blocks from HAMMERJACKS! '87-91. Bummed when you guys left for LA. Even worse to hear it closed.
Great Fucking Band. I seen them in Detroit back in the day, cant remember who they opened for but I've liked these guys since they came on the scene. Never got the recognition that they deserved. Hope all is well with the band here in 2020. Long Live Rock n Roll.
erik pearsin A few shots of The Block at the opening.
Saw them mutiple times at shally acres in wva back in the 90s they could rock wide open feil party too. Miss those good old days
I was there! When Blow my Fuse was released, I was sure Kix had hit the Headline acts. Crack the Sky was right there with you. It was timing. Kix was riding a wave that had already crested. Crack the Sky was way ahead of where music was at. Both of you guys should've been on top. It wasn't your music, it was all about timing. Keep on rocking!!!🌴☀️😎✌
I was fortunate enough to see Kix on New Year’s Eve at Hammerjacks before it shut down, and the band put on one hell of an amazing show!! Steve Whiteman has an awesome amount of energy and kills a show EVERYTIME!!!! I will always love Kix and their music!!♥️♥️♥️♥️I might live in Alabama now but I treasure my teenage years and the awesome music put out during that time and a part of me will always be a Baltimore girl at heart!!!!
I was probably there. I loved Hammer's. Used to go there all the time, and KIX on New Year's Eve was incredible! Great memories. Great Place. GREAT band.
Michael Vaughn absolutely!! I know all too well about those times! It used to be electric on New Years Eve!!! Then to have Steve Whiteman come out full of energy was actually better than any concert that I went to see at the then called Civic Center or Capital Center!! It’s just a miracle that I can still hear between how high I cranked music up in my car and how loud Kix played!!! I really, really miss those days but am glad I had the chance to see the bands I loved and just cruise the streets with my two best friends cranking the music and singing just as loud!!♥️🤘♥️🤘
Hey Karen, I`m a Bama boy and think Kix kicks ass. Love this album but haven't ever seen them in concert. I see where they played at Rams Head Live in Baltimore on December 21st but they don't tour the southeast except the Monsters of Rock Cruise in Ft. Lauderdale that occurred on Feb.8th-13th. May 22nd and 23rd in Houston and Dallas are the closest dates. Have an aunt and cousin in Bethesda, MD.
Javier Bautista you aren’t missing much in Baltimore City but I believe that Kix has shows in other parts of Maryland and they are a band that everyone should at least go to see once in their lifetime!!
Javier Bautista WoW it’s so awesome to know Kix has fans all the way in Mexico! I hope one day you are able to see Them in concert
50 yr old dude here...leather jackets..78 TA ...pack of camels and some cold brews and the boys...cruising ..KIX IN THE KENWOOD💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Who is still listening to Kix in 2024🤘🏻
Me!
ME at 55yr old and still play it LOUD
53 on a Sunday morning. My neighbors hate me at 9am. Beers 🍻
still banging this tune.
Absolutely.
My Favorite Kix album! So many hits!
This stuff always had some bluesy undertones to it. God bless the 80s hard rock hair bands! I love it.
Man this brings back memories. Proudly put a Kix patch on my jeans jacket back in the day. More and more I go back to this era of music because I just can’t relate or stand the shite today
I got a 15-year-old that wears Led Zepellin t-shirts "cause they're cool".
You sound like shit you fecal freak!!!
@@williammcguckie9823 fuck off
A common sentiment. I've been poking around trying to find contemporary music that doesn't suck and I've discovered Japan; it's the second largest music market in the world. Since 1980, anything you like in Western music they've being doing it: progressive metal, lots of hair metal, experimental stuff up the ass, punk, fusion, lite jazz, ska, etc., but almost a total lack of what I hate about our current music scene: rap crap and hipster shit.
Still jamming it in my 1983 5.0 , 80s child😝
built the lightshow for this video shoot..filmed in Baltimore's Original Hammerjacks club..now just a parking lot..good times back then
The first two versus with guitar and voice are magical. Love to turn up to 10 and listen to old school. Nothing like 80's rock.
it's such a sideways riff. I love it! The only other song that gives off that sideways vibe is Saturday Night by Def Leppard.
It goes to 11
Totally one of the coolest and most genuine rock bands to come out of the 80s.
Thats true❤
Was listening to this when I took my first nose candy. How we made it out of the 80’s alive only God knows how. Life had never been the same. The times I can remember I’ll never forget.
Kix was east coast in a west coast world. You had to be twice as good to break through if you were from Maryland. Had they been from LA, everyone would know them. As is, a tight group of us know they rock, and that will have to do.
Completely agree 👍
I lived in PA until 82, so we consider this "new KIX". I moved to Charlotte, and by 86, KIX was pretty big there too. Always been underrated though....They put on a show as good as any other Hard Rock band. This video was big on Mtv, i was in 12th grade.
the “SHUT UP, DO IT” at the beginning is so legendary
Remember waiting for the DJ to STFU on 98 ROCK in baltimore and wanting to record this beast on my TDK 90 min cassette.
What an absolute blast of a tune. KIX ROCKS
Kix are one of the best rock band ever, and a shame they were so underrated They worked their asses off and never reached the fame they deserved.
I'd love to have seen Badlands, Kix, Cinderella and Dirty Looks together.
Energy, great singers and guitarists...just a hair band overload!
My late husband loved this band. I miss him and the 1980s. Such great times. We went to so many concerts back in the day.
What an intro - if you grew up in or around charm city in the 80s, you KNEW who these guys were.
Shake my tower, blow my fuse.
Indeed.
Wholesome.
I been listening to them in the eight and still listening to them now in 2024
these were the good days of Hammerjacks back in the 80s and early 90s.
Oh how I miss the awesome "80's. Just going to bars to hear great bands like this. Who else knows or remembers "Hammerjacks" in B' more?
This song got me into this band. You soon realise what an amazing and underrated band they are as you hear the rest of their songs.
Big Sister woke me up for school everyday with this and Sanitarium.... never forget those great mornings. Dad was gone and Mom was 3rd shift. The smell of aqua-net and the sound of a thousand Marshall stacks with Vintage 30's loaded up til the breaker trips!
And your Jolt cola?⚡
You better believe it they didn't get the recognition they deserve
Damn I miss the 80's!
This was the realest and still is today.
This band deserved more, I dont know why it is only known for one hit.
In Baltimore they were big and had more air play
They were known for more than one hit; at least 3 or 4. The timing of their fame, like many others, was against them. Too many bands found fame right on the cusp of the grunge moment.
all those depictions of kix Broadway a lighted sign actually the eat ecene
the shake handing with somethin scene business
the first scene the shake hands up too
Every time I watch this Im blown away and Im an old metal head whem every body thought if you liked metal you were a devil worshiper
Magical time back in the 80's I wish everyone could have experienced it. Luckily KIX is still touring and sounds amazing. After the virus BS
They always play Pa. Whether its Lancaster or harrisburg... kix kicks ass still
Kixx rock they have a lot of energy on stage they are awesome
They were the last band I saw before the lock-down/ shut down, and they rocked! .... And I came out of the venue and the block was closed off by police - there was a food truck that blown up in one direction and a car rolled over on its side the other way!
Update they have played a couple of shows in the past few weeks!
Just saw them last night in Fallston. They still sound incredible!
Just came home from a kick ass KIX show in St Louis. God Bless these guys for keepin the faith !!!!! They still ROCK !!!!!!!!
Rockin at 59 ! What great music we had from 1970-80's
i miss this
Criminally underrated
Never forget driving to Apple Blossom mall in Winchester, Virginia in spring 1989 to buy this cassette when it debuted… blasting it in my 1971 Chevelle.
God such great times lol. KIX was HUGE in the Shenandoah Valley, from Virginia to Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Md to Martinsburg, Wv.
When I first heard these guys they told me "Kix are for Kids." Guess I'll always be a kid then, even at 55.
What a dumb ass comment!!!
Never knew this had a video but the chorus has stuck with me my entire life LOL.
Amen, brother.
50 last year agree😪😝!
First time I went to a music store I had only 100.00 dollars in my pocket so I bought 3 KIX recordings on cassette.
❤THEY KIX ASSES !!!
Saw them play in 2018 or 2019 and this dude still wails and has crazy good stage presence. Great show!
I have had the pleasure to see Kix three times in the past year 2021-22. It is hard to express how great they still are! Steve's vocals are so fine to this day and the energy the band has is just awesome. They formed many years ago as The Shooze in the Hagerstown MD area. They may only have one big hit nationally but around here they had nothing but hits!
Love it! Saw these guys in a large club setting back in the 80s. The were SO good. One of the best shows I'd ever seen. And I'd seen a lot! So that's really saying something.
Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greenville,Greensboro,Winston-Salem,Charlotte - were their regular touring circuit in N.C. ... seen them about 20+ times and NEVER a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
Sure you did dumb ass.
Maryland native here 53 years of age KIX big band for baltimore 80.s hammerjacks.....long legged Rosie from baltimore.
These guys rocked sadly over looked what a banger of a song
I’m eleven and this song is sooooo good because my dad showed me 70s-80s rock songs
This takes me RIGHT back!!! Love Kix🖤
Damn this whole album was my jam back in 6th grade! I remember listening to this on my walk man. The guitar mix was so wide it blew my mind! Memories!
Kix is from where I live. They play a concert at the local fire hall to give back to the local community. Its an awesome concert.
Back when rock was fun.
Kick ass! Always a fan and they still blow it out live. My brother, a talented guitarist and electrical contractor has jammed with Younkins in his basement. Ronnie is getting it together and will ve back!
Ronnie also kicks ass with his own band, Blues Vultures. Slightly different vibe but very, very worthwhile to check out. Ronnie shines on guitar AND vocals there!
Great song, but how are there not more views for the best Kix song of all time - She Dropped Me the Bomb!
I turned 16 the year this song came out in 1989 I would go back and do it all over again the exact same🎉 Man I miss the 80s
Met these guys and talked with them. In a restaurant. Really nice guys.
Saw them perform many times. Love this band still.
Still here in 2024. Damn that was such a good time.
After all the years. I can still feel the excitement of being at this video making at Hammerjacks! Great memories. Thanks!!
Take a good look, Millennials. Some of y'all were probably conceived during the making of this video.
I was born in 87 but I freaking love this band,HELL you name it I listen from acdc to the band zebra.
@@alexiskoury8468 nice I have 2 daughter's 8 n 4 n they both love kix,ratt,dokken,quiet riot,etc
Fukn GOOOO Gen X!
Iron maiden '86 😂
That means you must have been on the same tour bus when they performed along side Ratt
That opening riff is so good. As I was first discovering Thrash Metal. I loved Kix just as much.
I listened to all kinds of stuff...Kix and Great White, Metallica and Megadeth, Cinderella and Tesla, Morbid Angel and Testament.
@@Hupomone I hear you on that.

80s the best decade ever...
Yes definitely
I wasn’t alive for that but would like it to return as well hahaha
We need the 80's back
Amen were still here
Tomorrow night, babyyy!!
This band were treated as B List to the others , but their licks are sweeter , lyrics catchier , Close your eyes is possibly the most haunting song you will ever hear. My kids know all the words , that’s a legacy - GENIUS !
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Miss me some Hammerjacks
Love that guitar tone!
OHH Hell YEAH let's rock
. "From the whites of my eyeballs, to the soles of my shoes!" awesome lyrics and song
THANK YOU for yuor final tour !!!
It was the 80s. MTV actually played really good stuff. Me, my sister, and her best friend had MTV on constantly. My poor parents never had the TV. We had a really cool remote. MTV was channel 16. We had about 20 channels. The good ol days.
July '22! I just had my 30 year class reunion, and a couple of us were talking about the music these days, and I mentioned all the ppl making comments on RUclips how they wish music was like it used to be, and I said I see a lot of younger ppl saying they like this music better. One of my classmates said, "Our music never dies." That is SO TRUE!
Kix are defining to this day what rock n roll is and will continue to be about if people open the mind to rock n roll
O´YES!
I've seen Kix a few times in the recent pre-pandemic years. Thy still have a ton of energy. First time, the original owners of the Rams Head were there. They stopped the show to point them out so we all could cheer. That kind of kicked ass.
Another time, before they sang Girl Money (and I laugh because half of this video was on The Block), they're like "who remembers the block?" I was just there, partly because it was a Kix show I was going to.
Finding their CD in my local Library's surpluss store was a significante moment in my life.
I truly am grateful that I was able to "grow up" listening to them! I do wish i was able to experience them back then... but I find it amazing that they still kick @$$ in concert even to this very day!
I was graduating high school in 1988! The 80s rock was very special. It was an awesome era that went too fast! RIP 80s!!
