Paul Gilbert once said the mark of a great guitarist lies in the vibrato, and I intuitively and independently arrived at a similar conclusion. The nuance makes all the difference. It’s what I love about the guitar. On a keyboard, notes are discrete pitches-you cannot really go in between one key and the next a semi-tone up. Love Dokken, they're my favorite '80's metal band. They couldn't make a video like this today, not one of them has a safety harness on, there's not even anything behind the drummer either to keep him from falling backwards off the truck.
I was a teenager in the 80s partied like there was no tomorrow... the women were beautiful , the music was the best ever....did I mention the women?? In my 50s now and still have the 80s hair...💥

This has always been my favorite Dokken song and one of my all time favorite rock songs. The '80s were great. I was rocking out to this stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC when this came out. Wore it out.

Enjoy the kick-ass 80's metal, young dudes/dudesses! But more importantly, let it INSPIRE you to pick up a guitar and crank it up several notches! Now that the 80's generation is in our 50's, we're going to need some fresh metal soon to rock out to in our rocking chairs, lol!

There here now some have left us and they left good listening heaven it's not all hell down here . Music from the 80' s set the standard. The best still.
ahhh Dokken - highly underated 80s band, really deserved more recognition than they got, Don awesome voice, George just a damn killer player and the song writing ability created some rocken tracks.
I think so too.Had it not been for motley crue and their bullshit antics getting them all the screentime Dokken might have been better known but their music spoke for them and Millions knew dokken was one of the top 3 80s bands .
This sound ! I remember when this album was released in 1985, everyone was amazed by the sound, a revolution ! Michael Wagener and Neil Kernon at the helm of the production, it could only be huge. Difficult to give a better title than another, for my part, "The hunter", "Lightnin' strikes again", "Will the sun rise", "Til the livin 'end" and of course "It's not love" turned a lot on my turntable. A great memory of this time, my favorite album from the band.
No shit girl, we didn't know back then how good we really had it. All those songs that our parents called noise, they now say is good music when played at sporting events. I still trip when my dad who's 72 rocks out to a classic ACDC tune on the radio.
I actually saw Don play recently in PA and Don said that they did play this as they drove for real and that they got eight or nine tickets from the local LA police, because they drove this truck all through Beverly Hills and other residential areas, who didn't take too kindly to the sound of this Song being played on the back of a Huge, Loud Truck in rotation while filming this video... Real Music, True Story. :) ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️😎😎😎😎😎😎👆👆👆👆👆👍👍👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

I STILL have the CD in my truck right now! ✌️
The greatest 80s metal/hard rock band of all time in my opinion. Rockin' with Dokken always!
awesome song and video 80s all the way WEST HOLLYWOOD MATES!!
I was not born when this great music came out. I am 15 and fu**ing love the 80s
Same here dude!🤘💕
@@nina-xe5iw I'm 23 years old girl and I think the same!
@@gardnerberry113 xD
I'm 22 and I love the 80s style, music and everything.
Told you I had to leave, I had my reasons
I said that it hurt to stay, the way that I'm feelin'
It's not love
That left you standin'
It's not love
That left you cold
It's not love
Misunderstandin'
Only a mistake
There's nothing left to take
Why, baby, why did you make me let you go
And leave you so lonely
Why, baby, why did you have to hold on
You know it's not love anymore
Gave you your last chance but you didn't believe me
You can't keep me satisfied, the way that you treat me
It's not love
That left you standin'
It's not love
That left you cold
It's not love
Misunderstandin'
Only a mistake
There's nothing left to take
Why, baby, why did you make me let you go
And leave you so lonely
Why, baby, why, stop playing with my heart
I told you
It's not love
Telling you to be this way
It's not love
Sayin' you can never change
It's not love
When I told you
Is he putting you down
Down, down, down
Wait, it had lyrics? haha. Man I miss the 80's...

Gordon Gatt jnr one of mine I like them all you know but mine behind the wall and burning like a flame oh yeah and Heaven sent
killer band killer video
Nothing flashy or over the top. Simple music video by one of the best bands.
Metal guitarplayer
replies:
Nothing flashy or
over the top, you're
absolutely sure about
that?
@@ltjoseph9042 flashy being explosions. Simple band riding around on trailer pulled by 18 wheeler. Playing singing to the public. Your definition and my definition of flashy are different but whatever. Dokken is still my fav band. Video is still great
Nothing better than ROCKIN with DOKKEN!!!!!
My favorite music of 80's Hair Metal - Georges Lynch is just one of best guitarists ever and Don really rules !!
Not a Hair Metal band at all dude, kind of insulting that you'd call them that.
@@spartansquid5931 I agree Dokken was not a hair metal band
Richard Joslin Just curious, but what are your top 3 Dokken albums? Mine are Dysfunctional, Erase the Slate, and Hell to Pay.
@@spartansquid5931 mine are tooth and nail, under lock and key, Dokken live in Japan,
Richard Joslin Live albums technically aren’t albums, I do love Under Lock and Key but I feel like Tooth and Nail is on the verge of being generic 80s hard rock.
The '80s were the best decade in the history of the world
In USA :)
Amen I was born in 82
@@alishamcmonigle8570 my daughter was born in '85
The 70s were better. Better music for sure.
Lifes what you make it.
Dokken totally rocks, man back in the 80's we used to rock to this stuff , you puppys missed it!
Yep. Concerts were MAJOR throwdowns!
Yeah. I did. I often admit I was born in the wrong generation 😂 But then again, maybe its better this way. Its harder to miss something you never experienced
Not me, I lived it.
80's nerver forget. So many good memories with goooooooood music.
Absolutely amazing tune, Great Riffs,vocals,..the freaking rhythm section. Killer then & Killer Now.
Don Dokken's finest vocals EVER!
The days when music was music! Rock on with Dokken!
Rockin with Dokken, rhymes.......
@@daleosborn3729 So true. Thanks for the rhyme. Actually, both are good. I think I like yours better.
Lol. You sound like a sweetheart.
George Lynch - super guitar master, world master !

George Lynch is the best!!
🤘🏼ROCKIN' DOKKEN FUCK YEA!!!
There here now some have left us and they left good listening heaven it's not all hell down here . Music from the 80' s set the standard. The best still.

Rockin' with Dokken! The good old stuff!
Dokken still kicks ass. Rocked to this song as a kid in the 80’s, still rocking it today and forever will be 🤟🏽
Guitar riffs...... Ok badass shit! Proud be from 80s . Rock on mfrs!
80'd rock can't be touched. From A to Z it was .the best.
ahhh Dokken - highly underated 80s band, really deserved more recognition than they got, Don awesome voice, George just a damn killer player and the song writing ability created some rocken tracks.
I think so too.Had it not been for motley crue and their bullshit antics getting them all the screentime Dokken might have been better known but their music spoke for them and Millions knew dokken was one of the top 3 80s bands .
100% accurate!
Saw these guys plenty of times,so much fun was had
This sound ! I remember when this album was released in 1985, everyone was amazed by the sound, a revolution ! Michael Wagener and Neil Kernon at the helm of the production, it could only be huge. Difficult to give a better title than another, for my part, "The hunter", "Lightnin' strikes again", "Will the sun rise", "Til the livin 'end" and of course "It's not love" turned a lot on my turntable. A great memory of this time, my favorite album from the band.
God, I miss the f@cking 80s....the REAL Metal years!! 🤩🤩
Makes two of us!

Now this is TRUE ROCK AND ROLL.... SAW THESE GUYS .... WHEN I SAW THEY ROCKED... BELIEVE ME...THEY ROCKED!!!!!!
The bone guitar is awesome. I always wanted one
R.I.P. KNAC ; great rock station....
God I loved the 80's!!!!
And really miss them!!!
The guitar Intro riff remains to this day the Evilest, Sickest, Most Badass riff ever played.
The 80’s were the best. Great time to be a teen!!!
Dokken was one of my favorite hair bands. They rock. I love this video.
So many great hair bands.. White snake and the list goes on..
These boys can jam
the best!!!!!!!!!!!! take me back to the 80's please! The debut of "mom" the skull & bones guitar :)
