Yep, this was off revival, the album that everyone hated and now going back to it, so many people now get it. Listening to the entire album in one sitting, it's crazy to see how genius this man was. Considering he starts off the album with the question why, and ends the album with an answer to his own question on a row saying now I know, this man is a hip-hop God

This was a great song, never heard it. Melodic, emotional and inspiring with the right amount of kick to it. And the chorus is fire! A gangster beat wouldn't have worked. There's not enough beats like this behind a message like this. This a type of beat you could imagine in some military movie about pride, hope, change, fight back, better future etc.

I get what the dislikers are saying: wrong beat. But I think it's not 'wrong', it's just not THEIR beat. This wasn't for the hip-hoppers. This was for the general consumer who likes popmusic and something they can belt to and something they can get behind as a message. Maybe not the Hitler-analogy so much. But the hook? Definitely catchy.
Makes sense that there aren't many tracks like these because revival was shit on by critics, and because most hip hop heads dont like that style, even if you rap as well as Eminem, so if you do it worse than him you would be swimming against the current in a major way.

His rapping was never the problem and that’s what hardcore Stans and em himself doesnt get when people trash on revival. Most of the production on revival sucked, and his stop and go flow thing he had going on was at its worst in this album. Castle and arose don’t have that type of flow and they have decent production and are the best songs on the album, and probably some of the best he’s put out after the overdose

I love his emotional work so much better. Honestly, I love the newer stuff so much better than the older stuff that’s just my own personal opinion. There isn’t a song more emotional on revival that’s more emotional than Sing for the moment or cleaning out my closet besides castle and arose( I gave those songs credit for a reason) and that’s just 2 from TES. I see what he was going for but it wasn’t executed right. It’s music at the end of the day and it’s gotta sound good so it’s enjoyable to listen to. You can have good lyricism and good production they aren’t mutually exclusive. About the policial thing. I don’t think people have an issue with him getting political. Songs like white america, square dance, we as Americans are loved. The issue is again execution. Untouchable being a prime example. The first half of the song is unbearable to listen to and while I get that he was going for something like that it’s just not fun to listen to. The second half of that track is better, but ems weird flow and that deep throaty robotic voice ruined it for me. Like home and nowhere fast just sound way too poppy like he was trying hard to make them radio friendly. Personally I think he just held back too much with them. The production is an obvious issue, but compared to the freestyle he did and even the line on favors they sounded like he was holding back instead of just going at it like he did in his old political songs

Revival was always dope to me. I can say there were 3 songs I wasn’t digging at all but out 19 songs (technically 17) the other 14 I enjoyed. Definitely not his best album but it was not wack at all. People heard “Walk On Water”, saw the track listing and judged it from there. To this day anyone who calls it wack I always ask what songs they didn’t like and “Walk On Water” is the only response 🤦🏾♂️
I'll admit it's not my favourite album sonically, lyrically it's a em album so we know it hit's there. And message wise it's probably his best.

I'm an Em fan for life and i think the execution of this song as a whole is BRILLIANT! But.....I couldn't agree with every thing he stated. I'm by no means into politics.....I don't even ever vote. But with what I've been seeing regarding Trump it seems that people aren't seeing or reading in between the lines with him. People just see a lose cannon but every time he says something that people say is dumb I immediately get what he's really trying to say. What people don't understand is that Trump is NOT a politician....he is a business man. Also what people don't see is that Trump knows exactly what is REALLY going on behind closed doors within the government. Us civilians are kept in the dark and used as chest pawns. Trump can't be controlled so people don't like him....people want a politically correct puppet who talks pretty.

I’d love to see Stevie have a conversation with someone like Anthony Fantano who really hasn’t been a big fan of Eminem’s music in recent years.
I would destroy any criticism that Fantano has about Eminem. I’m a musician of 20 years and love all types of music. Do you know how easy it would be for Eminem to buy all the industry’s best beats and write catchy hooks and write dumbed down verses. A lot of Eminem haters are just people who don’t like his beat selection and don’t understand the lyrics AND DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY HE STILL HAS A CRAZY FANBASE. They just hating.
