I'm so glad I saw this reaction. It was mine the first time I heard it when it dropped. Marine Corps family. My brother and 2 cousins were serving when this came out. One is dead, the other two are damaged goods mentally. I joined and went to war because of the same economic recession you mentioned. I learned what they went through first hand and this song, it's message speaks to me the same as it did when I was a civilian. It was never worth it. Not this war.
I've been listening to Em since the late 90s and knew he was crazy good. I don't understand how people still don't think he's the GOAT. I understand 2 Pac and Jay Z and others have hits, have followers, and have done political statements, but if you look at Em's discography there are tons of heavy hitting political statements. He has the corny stuff, the shock value rap, the radio friendly club hits and all that, but he's done a TON for his city, community, and fan base.

@@Tcrror i have listened to more than 150 artists from rap, rock,pop, heavy metal, house, edm, metal, rnb etc. Not single one of them have got six albums which is awesome from top to bottom , front to back. May be one or two but not six. Em has sslp, mmlp, tes, relapse, recovery, mtbmb which is fire from top to bottom and we are talking about twenty songs not ten like most of the artists. So you can also consider em as the best music artist to pick up a mic if you judge him musically. That's my opinion ofcourse
