Me to Cameron, no oven no deal, plain and simple. I am amazed at the amount of converters who design van conversions for the U.K. market with no oven option. One of the things that attracted us towards our next van is the oven.
Hi Cameron. I’ve just bought a T6 from JOBL Design based in Ellesmere Port. It has what they describe as a warming oven but is in effect a grill. Good, obviously for grilling things, fish fingers, burgers or for warming pies etc. Have you heard of ridgemonkey? Very good piece of kit for cooking steaks, chicken etc.
Would love an oven and grill in our camper (T4) but making do with the twin burners on top. Just because you’re in a van doesn’t mean you can’t cook decent food.
Good to see the campervan vids Cameron & something other than a VW. Not given up backpacking but recently had our panel van converted & loving it. We had option of oven but went for storage instead. We use the Ridgemonkeys in place of most oven cooking. Also have an effective folding oven to go on top of the backup vintage Primus if we want to go large!
Camper King do grills in their Monte Carlo VW conversion and full oven in their higher spec. LKW campers sell camper king conversions also with grills. Definitely worth a look if you haven’t found what you are after yet.
As a fellow Hyundai Icamper owner I can fully sympathise with this. In 6 years of ownership I've done 90k (very happy!) miles in mine, and am now contemplating a replacement. Hours of internet research has failed to find any conversion which is as practical as the Hyundai. In my opinion, its the oven and running hot water which are essential for Scotland. Good luck with the search, and please let us know how you get on. I will do likewise. PS I've seen you on the road a few times...red is very distinctive and rare!
I don't think many of the Rosso conversions were made but for the moment we've decided to hang on to it. To be honest we love it, does everything we need, and I think it compares with those VW's that are £15-20K more expensive. Just a pity Hyundai have stopped making the i-800. Give us a flash next time you see us - if you pardon the expression.
@@CameronMcNeishOutdoors I'm exactly the same..love the van and will be holding onto it until a company makes something as good. It's strange how the campervan market is growing so fast, yet there is nothing which compares. The search continues!
I know you've tested a VW from jerba at North Berwick. They fit a smev grill and oven if you want. My last jerba T5 had one but I took it out in favour of a bigger fridge. Now if we need an oven (rarely do) we use a remoska from lakeland.

Try CCCampers ltd you specify and they will deliver I've had grill ovens in my last two campers supplied through the above company all you've got to do is ask 👍
Thanks for this channel, Cameron. I'm starting to look at the idea of a camper van myself and so this is a great help. I haven't been to any suppliers yet but the Campers Scotland website seems to suggest that they can do conversions with an oven.

fantastic video cameron as always but if your think on changing your camper van just stick to what you know as it works for you i think

Is this a Dometic smev FO11? I’m wondering if it has a chimney point on the back and whether it’s mandatory to use. Let me know :-)
Couldn't agree more. A proper oven would be so useful. Unfortunately I only have a grill
Looks great. But I still love my one pot meals and "glop" cooked on a Trangia. Maybe one day.......

Is this the 20 or 30 litre model? Can you roast a chicken in it? 😊
Not sure of the size but you could certainly roast a chicken in it.
Do you have a Calor gas tank hooked up to that or is it running off the electrics?
Ecosse The oven and grill and the two burner job runs off gas. The heater runs off the diesel fuel and compressor fridge runs off the battery.
