- Look back at the 2015 men's 10K NCAA cross country championship at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Oregon's Edward Cheserek won the individual event with a 28:45.8 in the 10-K cross country race. Syracuse men's cross country won the team event.

Thrilled that Bob Kennedy commentated this. A real role model of mine, but also just excited to have his expertise in the commentary.

Terre Haute???
Honestly, after having watched and rewatched every NCAA XC race that Ed raced in the thing that I recognize now is the absolute lack of effort, passion, or any even relative interest in properly, effectively, and emphatically announcing these races. It's like watching a "race" while listening to ASMR. Not exactly the vibe I'm looking for in the announcing for a friggin NCAA DI Championship.
Surprised to find out that "cross country" means running on a groomed grass course. Had expected it to be more like trail running.
You found that out? Funny, nobody else did. Cross country is any course that's not a track. Could be a trail, could be extremely wet or muddy, could hilly. Each course is different. They chose this course for the championship race because the huge number of runners would make a hiking trail style of course pretty dangerous. Doesn't lessen the fact that running sub 30 minutes for a 10k is insanely tough.
@@machineofadream Very true! I'm an NCAA college cross country runner and they typically only choose these types of courses (typically golf courses) for national/regional meets since they are the fastest and most safe. Cross country meets the whole rest of the season are usually on hills, mud, trails, and grassy fields.
