Cant believe there were suggestions of postponing the race because of rain like there wasn’t snow on the ground in wisconsin the year before for this race.
Running on a cold and rainy day is so demanding. Trying to stay warm and navigate the adverse conditions that are created by the rain on the course becomes that much more difficult.
Virtually any cheap consumer camcorder could record this race significantly better than what FloTrack provided. The only excuse is that it was being live broadcast, but this looks worse than most footage from 1980s high school national championships.
This goes for all of these races through the years: none of the equipment they're using is actually recording this in such a low resolution. The issue is that the videos being shared are just a direct feed from the stream. These aren't the native videos. It wouldn't be that hard to edit the videos with the original recordings, but even that small amount of work is not worth it for them, I guess, given the low viewer count of a XC race. Sad, really.
I know high schools run a 5K cross country course, although when I did X-country in the '70's the course was generally around 2.5 miles, but I had thought colleges ran a 5K x-country course as well, but I guess the men do a 10K distance. I think the females in college do a 6K distance. I wonder if X-country courses have to be completely off paved roads. That would seem like a good rule...

Why do these announcers have to fill every available second with chatter and banter... calling Team positions ad nauseum and trying to demonstrate their "insider command" of the sport? Fairly annoying to some of the viewers... I suspect I am not the only one. Just let the athletes run once in awhile!! Geez!
