- Jakob Ingebrigtsen has had an incredible 2021, winning Olympic and European gold medals. He's capped off the year with a well earned victory in the men's cross country race at Fingal Dublin 2021.
The Norwegian added senior men's cross country gold to his three junior titles. An amazing accomplishment from the 21 year old.

An athlete like Jakob only comes along once a generation, incredible.
The way Ingebrigsten moved away from Kaya on the last lap! He really put the boot in, but you couldn't see any signs of the effort. It was like he just shifted into overdrive. All of a sudden, he was 10 metres ahead and going away. I imagine he could have run under 30 min. had he been pressed.

That's Jakob's signature. Economy of motion in driving the legs forward. Watch him dust the field in setting the 5000m European Record in Florence earlier this year.
Who would be able to "press" a 21 year old, 1500m Olympic champ, who won with an Olympic record 3:28....he is just too fast for anybody.....

Jakob got 3rd after throat infection in Monaco 2021 behind spanish Katir, and 4th behind lewandowski at the world championships in 2019. Those are the last times he lost to europeans

In the next seasons, Ingebrigtsen will rule the distances from 1500 meters up to at least 5000 meters.
Many people think he is the best at 1500 meters, but the truth is that he is better at 3000 and 5000 meters. But he also wants to get strong at 10,000 meters. He is already the best all rounder at 1500-3000-5000 meters where he is the only one who has run under 3.30 at 1500 meters, 1.58 at a Mile, 7.30 at 3000, 12.50 at 5000 meters, and under 28 minutes on a 10 km street race plus several European indoor records, plus several youth world records.
From the 2022 season he will set the standard first indoors, then outdoors maybe by beating Daniel Komen 3000 meter world record by 1-3 seconds, he was good for it already at the end of the 2021 season!
Not to mention what he will do in Paris 2024!!!! OMG, buckle up everybody!!!
I'd like to see him go for the 1500 and 5k double Olympics gold like El Gherrouj, or try to break his 3:26 1500k world record.

He is already ruling, obviously you've missed his first 10 years in the sport...LOL, he is IN FACT the best at 1500m, if you would take time and see his time and the "rivals" that is the distance he is the closest to the WR, on the other distances he is far i.e. 3K he is 7 seconds away, 5k 12 seconds away, 10k far far away....so long story short HE IS RULING ALREADY!
@@shandytorok259 Lol, no I have not missed the period since he came on the International arena, from when he was 16, even he also have had records since younger age. Cheruiyot have been the one ruling until Tokyo. I do follow my countrymen. And it will be easier for Jakob to first take the WR on 3000 and 5000 meter. You can go ask himself, ore whatever all round runner in the International elite.
