    Great to see a bike, being a motorcyclist myself.

      You don't see many on detailing channels do you? And if you do, they're usually being completely dismantled and someone is going absolutely insane with the ceramic coating on them.

    Thanks Adrian, couldn't have come at a better time for tips. A friend has just asked me to clean his new (to him) Kawasaki 750 something or other. Not a bike person as you can tell.

    Looks a smart bike ,finished up nicely,plastic coat is a great product will be interested to see how long it stays a nice rich colour ,I find under normal conditions about 3 months max

      It'll be interesting to see how this goes - I typically ride it to work once or twice a week and when it's at home it loves under an Oxford Aquatex cover, at work it's in an underground carpark. So I should get at least 3 months I think, although I can already see on some of the plastics it looks less good than the others, and I haven't washed it yet.

    Great video! Nice to a bike being detailed. How was RIAT?

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  2 месяца назад

      Thank you darling! The RIAT was good! Weather could have been better (all the displays were flat), but seeing the F15 and F18 being thrown around was really impressive! There was a display team called the Saudi Hawks, which were like the Red Arrows, but 7 of them and green smoke instead of blue...but they were unexpectedly good and had a few moves that were different to the Reds, so it wasn't like watching the same display but with two less planes.

    Looks good defo look into a rear hugger makes a massive difference to the amount of filth it stops

      I had one on my CB500X that I started out with and I completely agree with you. The thing with this bike is that there's quite a few mods I could do to make a bit better, but I'd run to about a grand if I did them all annnnnd I'm struggling to see if it's worth it on this one, or keep it saved for whatever comes next. Or there's just other things to spend the money on, like a new bathroom 😅

      Me too. it's amazing how different bits of plastic react to it/take it. I wouldn't have thought it would make that much difference.

    Great that you are doing some motorcycle content, I will be very interested to see how the infinity wax lasts. Question for you - i use Gyeon Wet Coat on my car apart from the summer and used it as a drying aid (small spray on panel and onto cloth then spread / buff) without any significant prep other than thorough maint washes and have been oh so impressed. I have been considering using something like Gyeon Can Coat Evo as a base layer and was wondering how noticeable any benefits might be. Note my vehicle is not clayed or machine polished and lives outdoors. Any thoughts?

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  2 месяца назад +1

      Whilst you see great hydrophobrics from wet coat, it isn't anywhere near what a true ceramic does. I was really surprised how big a difference there was.
      You'd have to do some prep though, I'm not saying you'd need to clay or machine polish, but you would want to do a fallout remover, waterspot remover and a paint cleanser, before panel prep, to make sure it's as good as surface as it can be for the ceramic to bond to.
      Is all that necessary? No, it just helps it last a bit longer.

      @@SuperchargedLlama Thank you for your thoughts, I'm going to get some Can Coat then as its in the Gyeon family (will try it on my motorbike first). Best wishes.

    Did not know you were a biker. Can i ask, why the NC? What's the use case? Certainly interested in more bike content.

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  2 месяца назад

      That's the question! The NC was sort of out of necessity in a way; I was going to get a VFR800X (I had the VFR800F before this, but sold it during COVID as I wasn't riding it - went from commuting 70miles a day to WFH and I don't have a garage to store it in).
      Now I've got a job where I need to commute occasionally again, via the M25 that's always solid. So I was thinking VFR800X as I said (bit less wristy than the F) or a Tiger Sport 660, Tracer 7, Tiger 800 XRT etc....and then I got the insurance quotes. Which were astronomical. Couldn't get one of the VFR, the Tiger Sport 660 was £1200 (bearing in mind I still had 3 years of of NCB that was valid as the gap was under 2 years). So I ran through a quote for an NC750X and it was about £300. Which still is crazy as my VFR800F was £400 when I last insured it.
      So I rode one, thought for the task I need to use it for, it would be fine. And I opted for the DCT as I've got an issue with my left knee at the moment that manual shifting aggravates. I had a DCT Africa Twin in the past and am completely sold on the gearbox. I toyed with another AT actually, but I could only afford the same CFR1000L model I had before, and I found that really top heavy. The revised version CRF1100L from 2018 was so much better in that respect, and then the latest version has apparently improved that further.

    As a fellow rider (CB500X) ,two cents of advice, toss the chain brush to the bin, it's more harm than good for O-rings longevity ... simple flat paint brush much safer ...

    • @SuperchargedLlama
      @SuperchargedLlama  12 дней назад +1

      I had a CB500X to start with too! I've not had an issue with this on any of the bikes I've owned, but I also do understand what you're saying, I can understand there's a risk. Have you lost a chain due to it?

      @@ShurikGi I think I replaced my CB500X chain when I changed the rear sprocket - went down a tooth for better cruising, but needed a shorter chain of course. The stock one is really poor quality apparently.
