    Great review! Was on the fence and was questioning the price tag but you've given me some confidence to try it out!

    Hey man very informative video! Great job! I bought a one wheel pint and XR two months ago and have been loving them. Been looking to expand my esk8 fleet to a summerboard.

    Thank you so much for this! I’ve been dying to get one (have never snowboarded either), but every time a text comes in with training videos, I freeze.😄

    Maybe I'm just out of shape but I think it's def more of a workout than you think lol. My legs get super exhausted.
    As for maintenance, one thing you didn't mention is regreasing the disks. However there is lots of videos and community support for maintenance and repairs.
    This is a great review, I hope you post some footage of you riding at some point!

      I am a pretty avid bike rider and have pretty large leg muscles, haha, so it was never bad for me. I could ride two batteries when some of my friends struggled to drain one, so you may be right! Definietly plan on shooting some videos riding and more of my experience with it.

    There actually is something out there like it. It’s called a freebord(yes bord without the a)which has been out for awhile. I don’t know if people ride them anymore but I remember riding them 12 or 13 years ago and they were pretty big at the time. The summer board is literally the same exact design except with a electric motor so you can use them else where besides going downhill

    I completely agree with you about everything you said. Great review! I’m 200lbs with a big foot. The slits for the bindings create a weak point and combined with the board arch the board cracked almost immediately to the edges, not major and hasn’t impaired riding for the past year and half but still…..1600$ it should be a little better in that regard. Seen the complaints from others about this as well

    This is a great video. It should have a lot more views and thumbs up! How wide of a sidewalk/path would you say you need to enjoy the carving aspect? I already have snowboarding experience. Thanks!

      @adventureseekerdude  3 года назад +1

      Really not much, a sidewalk or bike path and bike lane works fine. You can do little carves and keep it as narrow as you want pretty much.

    im a casi snowboarder. i been riding it over a year now. same i got some other boards like onewheel evolve ect. The point is for summerboard, it needs more counterrotation movement than snowboarding.also its apparently more difficult than snowboarding. If you dont know how to snowboard properly, this wont help your skills on snow for sure cuz it may lead you to have some very bad habit and positions. however if you know how to snowboarding in the right way both positions and weight distribution this definitely can help you build and recall the muscle memory. its summerboard it is a unique machine so i dont care if its similar to snowboard no more. just enjoy and shred.

      So glad I saw your comment. I'm a CASI snowboarder as well and I've been wanting to ask a decent snowboarder a few questions about the summerboard. Could you control speed on the summerboard using turn size/shape (like do short radius turns) instead of using counter rotation? On every video I have watched, people on the summerboard seem to counter rotate A LOT and slide to control speed, like all I see is kicking back leg out and speed checks instead of changing edge to edge with the upper body aligned. I want to get a board to ride and improve my skills on snow in the offseason, the summerboard looks really good for practicing buttering and tricks, but all the counter rotation I see people do to make turns is a bit off putting from a snowboarder's perspective. I don't know if it's due to the nature of the design or the lack experience of the riders. It seems like maybe longboard/one wheel have more natural looking turning motion where the body is more aligned with the board despite the difference in mechanics. Would love to hear your opinion whether or not it's possible to ride with minimal counter rotation since you've had experience in both.

    I sold mine due to massive quality issues and terrible customer service. It’s great when it works but the key word is when. It is no where near the price point.

    Any issue with riding on wet surfaces/in the rain? saw a review from Paolo from Tokyo's channel, but he had the Leiftech older generation I believe

    Great video, thank you for the detailed review. My question (maybe I missed your answer) - What happens if you have no battery? Can you foot kick - Or carve it (like a surfskate) to get speed?
    Thanks!

      @adventureseekerdude  2 года назад +1

      No, not really. You're pretty much carrying it at that point. But you can carry a spare battery. I have two batteries and it's a lot of work to drain two!

  • @justalpha9138

    1:28, not true. The Summerboard and its designed was actually designed because of Freebord. It's essentially a motorized version of a Freebord G3.

    If I have never skateboarded, but I am decent at snowboard. Would I be successful on riding this?

    • @adventureseekerdude
      @adventureseekerdude  3 года назад +1

      Yea, for sure! I'd say better than someone who has never snowboarded but skateboarded. But you really don't have to have snowboarding or skateboarding experience at all to learn to ride it. Just watch the training videos and follow those and you'll pick it up fast. I'd say having snowboarding experience gives you an advantage to learning it faster. I've never snowboarded before, but my friend who snowboards every winter picked it up almost instantly.

      I started my boarding career at 31 with snowboarding,one wheeling, and summerboarding almost all at the same time, they all share characteristics that build skills and translate to one another. Having an indoor snowboarding facility where you can snowboard then walk right outside to summerboard right after brought the skills up fast for getting fancy with it. Ultimately when it clicks it clicks hard, the feeling is amazing and the drift is as exhilarating as snowboarding if not more because it’s concrete
