  • So I've had my summerboard almost a month and I'm absolutely in love with this thing!!! Did a review because I have been getting a ton of comments on social media asking about my summerboard. It was really tough getting a hang of it the first couple days. I was super frustrated and thought about giving up on several occasions. Have patience, dont give up, watch videos, keep practicing. I'm telling you, I promise it will finally click and you will start to feel just how much like snowboarding this summerboard really is!! Keep at it...gain confidence, and go shred the world!!!!

    Great review bro! As a fellow snowboarding Michigander, I REALLY WANT one of these. It was cool how much you compared it to snowboarding because that’s kind of the point of the thing. I think the part about the learning curve is analogous too (NOBODY is good or even decent at snowboarding the first couple times out). Also, Go Blue!

    Hey man great vid. I got a freebord and love it, Im looking to get one but I do have a few questions I hope you can answer for me
    1. Do the wheels have a free spinning feeling when not engaging the throttle? Say I am riding downhill and for argument sake I don't have the remote. Will it go? Do the middle caster wheels feel like they are holding back? Is there a "neutral" setting?
    2) I can push on my freebord flatland. Its tough to learn but possible. With the "regen" braking, if I am holding brake but physically push with my leg forward, would that "regen/recharge" it?
    3. How much do you weigh? What is your personal top speed really pushing the motor? I'm about 240 lbs(over time I sure the workout of riding would get me down to about 215) but I am well aware that the faster, the better and easier to balance, and would probably be looking to ride at around the 20 - 25 mph zone.
    Thanks in advance.
    Again, really good carving there near the end you make it look easy. ( I know it's not, freebord was probably the most difficult thing I ever learned

    • @AaronAders
      @AaronAders 4 года назад +2

      I totally agree with you, the free board was the most difficult thing I ever learned. I think the summer board is easier for most folks because you don't have to commit to a hill and you can go as slow as you like. I had a head start bc I knew how to FB so I can't speak for Bryan, but I can help you with your questions:
      1) yes you free wheel in neutral - when we ride steep hills we mob up with the motors and then just stick the remote in our back pockets on the way down 😁
      2) technically yes, but you'd probably have to push for 1000 miles to charge a battery
      3) I'm 185 And I do notice that the lighter guys get a little bit better range. The heaviest rider I've ever seen is 300 lbs

    Let’s go Michigan! I love snowboarding and am totally thinking of getting the summer board. What would you say, if any, is the main deterrent or issue about the summer board? And is it possible to carve on the summer board (like the pencil thin carve you can leave on a snowboard when your edge locks in)?
    Have you had any issues with the board after a year? July is coming up again in Michigan along with that snowboarding itch I usually get. I hope that this can be a fix. Thank you so much. Your video has already been so helpful. I know it’s been a while but I hope that you can respond.

    • @DavidBrianCEO
      @DavidBrianCEO 4 года назад

      Hello, I own a SummerBoard SBX (Premium Model). It really depends on how much riding you will be doing. If this is purely for recreation and fun then just stick with the one. If you plan to commute or ride your board for longer than 3 hours then you should buy a spare. I rode my board for roughly 3 hours before the remote indicated it was almost dead. However, my board was not fully charged when i started and i did limit the speed via the Companion app they offer.

    • @bryanbelcher689
      @bryanbelcher689  4 года назад +1

      I was worried about that too...but, after talking with the summerboard guys they explained to me that when you land from a jump the force of the landing is absorbed into the deck rather than the casters and the electronics are separated from the deck so there shouldn't be an issue with jumping the board. Now as far as them covering any damages I'm not sure.

    • @Ghostyfrost9688
      @Ghostyfrost9688 3 года назад +1

      It's not attached to your feet. The bindings are kind of like open hooks. So if you bail you can slide your feet out pretty easily and run it out. But if you're going 15 mph or more, you're probably going to eat shit regardless because you can't run that fast lol

    USED TO BE LEIFTECH, they had to change the name because of how horrible the product is and the lack of any support, THEY KNOW IT WILL BREAK WITHIN A YEAR. They warranty will show it. Do not get this board. I have one that I haven’t been able to ride for a year. THEY WILL NOT SUPPORT YOU WHEN YOUR BOARD BREAKS DOWN. IT WILL BREAK DOWN! 3 MOTHERBOARDS IN 6 MONTHS

      Woah using caps lock...this must be truthful and the same for everbody. 🤦‍♂️ sounds like you had a bad experience, doesn't mean everyone will. I wouldn't go out of my way to create a vid to entice people for something I wasn't myself extremely pleased with. Honestly it's the best customer support I've ever dealt with.

    Weird that we don't see you directly on the board during all the video, for a "real" customer... And your speech really sounds fake, it more looks like an ad for the brand, masked as review.
    If you pay attention, you can see the guy looking at the prompter on the side ahah
