This was a great idea for sure, but throwing away the contents is NOT something you'd do out in the field. That material is ideal as a fire starter so it should be transferred into a container; like one of the two or three zip-seal freezer bag everyone should have on them or in their edc bag.

I found a broken pen while camping and I used the plastic tube to make a whistle with this theory. It works really well!! Everyone should try it.
