By far my favorite crappie fishing channel here! Down to earth god fearing man, loves his family, and will put a whoopin on some crappie! Thanks for sharing!👍👍✌🏼
Thank you so much jbob. I really appreciate the kind words sir. Thank you for being here!
Thanks for the info. I am a beginner for fishing for crappie.
Great show again Matt, Kentucky
Thanks Lonnie
Great video! New to your channel and crappie fishing. From southern California. I too would like to learn more on your Garmin SV to locate crappie. Looking forward to seeing your videos. God bless you.
Still Out fishing on his anniversary, hats off to you sir.
LOL. I have a wonderful wife!
Great technique. I love to drop shot but never for crappie. Excited to try !
It’s a lot of fun. I think you will enjoy it. Thanks for the comment.
Great video I will try that, thanks for sharing this with me.
Anytime Roger
Ok... I'm the jerk that gave you a thumbs down because of all the early talking and not getting into the video. Then I left it playing while I did something around the house and you got informative and started catching fish..... SO I TOOK THE THUMBS DOWN AWAY... THANKS!!!
Terry, I appreciate the honesty my friend. It is good to know that and it is great Feedback. I will try to be more punctual about getting to the fishing. I do enjoy teaching new techniques as well. I hope that I am able to help someone extend there knowledge for chasing and catching Crappie. Again buddy I appreciate the feedback and thanks for removing the thumbs down.
Great video. I made my livescope transducer pole like yours. Works great!
That’s awesome! I love mine as well. Glad it worked for you.
Wired for Crappie I would love to see the entire thing. I am on version 3.8. Haha. I need to figure a way to get a little resistance so a wave does not turn it.
@@AsleepAtTheReel Did you figure it out? If not, what about a set screw/thumbscrew somewhere?
@@fishingismydrug1 yes, I talked to him on the phone! haha. Basically the 2 u bolts just need to be tightened a little to bend the 1 1/4 inch PVC allowing a harder move of the 1 inch inside. Spay a little grease or WD inside and it is quiet and smooth.
I Love My 16 Feet Rod🎣👍🏾❤️❗️
Nice tip!!
You tossed the scrap line into the lake 😮😢
Enjoyed the video, nice fish caught for August in TN. I hope you continue making videos through the Fall, maybe some tournament videos?
Stan, my plan is to shoot a video once a week every week. That includes all 4 seasons and my tournament season. May get tricky but that’s the plan buddy.
New rod? Congrats on your anniversary!!!
Larry, yes sir different rod. Just the right rod for the occasion. Also thank you for the congrats.
@@WiredforCrappie Bass Pro doesn't show this one on-line, but Amazon does as both a 11' and a 10'. I assume the only difference is the length. The 10' one comes with a reel that looks similar to a fly-fishing reel, but I see that you have a normal spinning reel on. You can't really cast a 10' rod, right? So the reel is just a place to store a few yards of line, right?
Actually Larry you can cast a 10’ rod. A 10 footer is what I use when I float an fly deep. I will have a show on that this fall or winter. Here is a website for the rod it’s walmart so just have it shipped to the store and shipping is free.

@@WiredforCrappie 10' would seem too much to handle on a cast, but I can see it's usefulness to just flip a hook out like you did in this video. Only $20 at walmart, and my local store has it in stock. And you like a regular spinning reel on it? Not that sorta line holder similar to a fly fishing reel?
Happy late anniversary thts my birthday i no its late im just subsribing with you!!
Thanks buddy. Welcome to the channel.
I live in mempgis how far away r u
Memphis is around 5.5 hours
When would you use this technique versus the slip bobber from last week?
Both techniques work well. Drop shot is only going to be able to be used in open water where the slip float can be pitched in and around docks.
Nice video where can I get one of those Transducer Pole For my Bass tracker
www.fishingspecialties.com dont forget to use the discount code WIRED to save 10%
What garmin is that 9inch screen
Thanks
New sub
Welcome Jon. It is the 93 SV.
I have a farm pond that is overrun with crappie or speckled perch as we call them down south but I am looking for the best way to fill the boat
Are you not worried about the minnow tangling that loop up around your main line?
Have you changed pole and mounts, I have another ram mount ball I could put on the port side, and would save me lots of money.
This was my old set up. I now run a fishing specialties pole from www.fishingspecialties.com you can save 10% with the discount code WIRED
That's a double surgeon's knot. It just so happens that it forms a loop.
Thats cool info Thomas. Thanks for it.
When you're fishing straight down, what's your preferred method of hooking the minnow? Eyes, lips, back or do you switch up according to the conditions?
I am a lips guy. Always through the lips and out a nostril.
When would you use a drop shot vs a split shot above the hook or vice versa?
Good question J Scott, so with this method the minnow can’t move around as much because the weight is on the bottom and the hook is tied in line above the weight. This allows me to put this rig in thick brush with minimal hang ups. With a split shot above the hook the minnow can move around a lot more and you are subject to hanging.
Perfect. Another tip to avoid hang ups. Thanks brother. Btw - love your video’s, thanks for putting them out there for us!
How are you hooking your minnows?
Through the bottom lip and out the nostril.
What part of TN do you Live?
East TN
Great video! I would like more info on the Livescope. Thanks! Happy Anniversary!
Thank you strtper628. Next weeks video is going to be a full livescope review. I am going to go over my setup, my pole mount (lots of guys have asked about it), and show everyone how useful it can be.
@@WiredforCrappieI was going to ask the same question
Coming to you guys this week.
Where can i get a livescope transducer mount like you have
B Barns l actually made the mount myself.
What’s the bait?
I would enjoy more livescope until u stick a fish.
Danny, my next video is going to be on the livescope.
