keep it up man, these trucks deserve way more love than they get
Amen!
I heard that I have the 06 DC 4X4 and love that truck.
Absolutely agree with you brother
I have a question if i may
Who hates these suv's ? I just need to clear things up
@@bobbyglander1309 I don't think anyone hates them... its just no one builds them or makes parts for them
I have a '04 tundra sr5 and i'm putting on a similar bumper and this video has been a huge help to lay out what to do step by step, thanks tons!
2003 Sequoia Limited here. Just found all your videos and channel and watched them all. Thanks for the informative videos. Try to remember not to film vertical video on the cellphone. :) :)
Yeah, Videos are slowly getting better. Will have a mic for the next one. 😀
Just bought a 07 Sequoia about a week ago .........BEST DECISION EVER!!!!! Thinking about front and rear bumpers
That looks terrific! Definitely gives it a more badass look. I found your channel while researching 1st gen Sequoias, and the more I learn about them, the more I like them! Hoping to find one soon.
That sequoia is actually pretty badass
Love the videos, Just picked up my 05 tundra double cab and i love it, in the process of locating a nice Sequoia too for this project as you did! Never thought about the Sequoia how did i miss it! It is dirt cheap but just as good as the other 4x4's
The 05 Sequoia rear discs can be converted to the tundra and REPLACE the inadequate rear DRUM BRAKES. I have the 06 DC TUNDRA AND GOING TO BE DOING THE SWAP HERE SOON.
One thing... I had the Bilstein 5100 front lifting struts with the stock OEM springs. After 3000 miles, with that heavier front bumper/winch. They were toast. I upgraded to the Bilstein 6112's. A much heavier duty shock, with a stiffer spring. Same deal as the 5100's. Except up to 3 1/2" of lift. I also put on a set of Camburg high lift upper control arms. Now running 33"s.
Currently sitting on Icons with a 700 pound spring. SPC upper control arms. GX big brakes. No sway bars. 17"x9" wheel with -12 offset. does fantastic.
Ended up watching all the videos, not a lot of over landing videos on Sequoias!
That bumper looks dope been wanting one(current plastic one is being held on by duct tape).
Awesome! I have been slowly restoring my 2003 SR5 now with 250k miles and have been looking for good bumper upgrades...not a lot out there. This looks like a great solution.
About the only true aftermarket bolt on bumper for First Gen Tundras/Toyotas. There are bumper kits available. But you need a fabricator/welder to put them together.
Did an add a leaf kit in the back. Very cheap and simple. The truck sits level, front to back. 33" BFG K02's on Method 16" Beadgrip wheels. I could have gone 17", but 16" with more tire will work better offroad.
It's looking awesome! Wish there were some 2nd Gen Sequoia videos out there. I have a 2016 version and haven't even been able to fine rock sliders for it. I know they're out there, just very limited. 1st Gen has all the luck when it comes to parts.
That looks awesome! I wish the bumper for the Tundra looked the same!
You're like TimmyTheToolman but for Sequoias, I enjoy this.
Can these be ordered to include Blue Ox tow bar attachments? They have bolt on options, like part # BX88266, would something like that fit?
Looking to flat tow one of these, and a base plate is about $500. If I can get a bumper that allows me to tow the Sequoia, I'm pretty happy. Little safer too.
Really like the videos, good stuff! Still looking for a good Sequoia. Should be a week or two, and I can't wait!
Great Job! Love the Truck.I came across your build and now I'm hooked. I have a quick question. The recovery points are they one piece and part of the winch plate? Meaning is there a cut out on the bumper and come through the back of the bumper or are they welded at the front. My concern is strength recovery points should attach directly to the frame for strength and safety.
Nice video and bumper. Love this channel for all that we can now do with our first gen Sequoias. Love my Sequoia and can't wait to get some mods on it.
Awesome! I love them too. Let me know if I can help.
Props to you for the great step by step video on the install man! Truck looks great. Idk that this style bumper necessarily matches the route I've gone with my 04 DC but if I was to ever hit a deer or something I think I'd have to pick one of these up. (My bank account and I are knocking on wood so this doesn't happen though lol)
Hey, I feel you, bro. Thanks for the props!
Thanks for the videos. Current 97 4runner owner looking to upgrade 4th gen 4runner or 1/2 gen Sequoia. Lately prices seem to be going up for 4th gens especially with the V8. I could get a lower mileage Sequoia and have more room with luxury. Tough decision because I'm coming from owning my 4runner for 6 years and now 245k in miles. Toyotas can't be beat in reliability.
cummins... minus the dodge!
Your videos make me miss my 04 Tunrdra :(
Lol. What are you driving now?
Great video, very informative and specific. So stoked Gonna do this to my tundra . Thanks
I've had 2 of these 1st gen sequoias. They r outstanding vehicles. Never thought there was much of an aftermarket for them. You r inspiring. Keep up the good work. Btw....have you thought of increasing their GVWR via some kind of certification for towing now that you've added more weight? And will you be doing any power mods?
Hey Brian, glad you like the video series. I have several videos in the work. Maybe one day we'll do some power mods.
I've had my '03 limited Seqouia for almost a year now. No mods yet but I am seriously inspired by what you're doing here and cant wait to start upgrading. What would you recommend doing first?
Awesome! Glad you like the build. I'd do the lift first. But think about how you want it to look in the end. Adding bumpers front and back? A winch? That will determine what springs you may want to consider. Most of the kits on the website are for rigs with no added weight (bumpers, winch, rooftop tent). But we can easily trade one spring for another if you're thinking those things. Take a look here:www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/c17/2001-2007ToyotaSequoiaSuspension#/
looks really nice, I got a 02 jade green limited I bought from my parents that I've been slowly working on. I'm mainly looking set it up for a street/highway but I also want it to be good enough for trips to the mountains.
Awesome! Take a look at the customer rigs section of the website. Find one you like and click on the picture. It will show you how they built theres. www.1stgenoffroad.com/rigpics.html#/
5:20, are you sure those aren't the transmission oil cooler hoses and not power steering? At least on the 4th gen 4runner, they look exactly like that and run right under radiator. Nice looking bumper 🤘
Looks great! My advice, make sure your airbox pickup tube isn't exposed now since trimming the fender liner.. Might need to join club snorkel now lol.
Now that would make a good video!
It did make a good video too.
Will this bumper fit on a 07? I saw on your website it says 01-04. I know they did a minor refresh to the Sequoia in 05 but do you think it changes the way the bumper had to mount? Awesome videos by the way! They are a great help! I’m about to start a new project rig, but I want to make sure the year I pick has all the options available. I’m looking into a 07 Limited without the active air suspension.
Here’s the link to he 05-07 sequoia bumpers: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p91/2005-2007_Sequoia_Brute_Force_Fab_Front_Bumper.html
Good job man, I will do mine the same. Two people with thumbs down couldn't lift the bumper.
Nice looks good... now I need one, didn't even know I needed one until now.
Glad I could help. LOL!
Very nice. I just bought an 03 sr5 tundra thanks for the install tips!
Yes sir. Let me know if you need anything!
Paint the head of the last bolts you installed it stands out when it's visible. Great video!
I’ve been looking for something similar for my 06 limited edition V8 Tundra but this is the closest thing I’ve found any suggestions on bumpers for if this would work?
I have an ‘05 Sequoia Limited other than getting the bumper what are some must have upgrades?
Nice man! I might of missed it but how much does that bumper weigh as is?
Billy makes sick bumpers!
Yes he does! www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p83/2000-2006_Tundra_Off_Road_Bumper_.html
Are these bumpers like the one showed in the video still available....mine is a 06 SR5 without fender flares.....thanks
I assume this bumper will work on an 03 tundra, just wanted to how much they are. The website says out of stock unfortunately.
Are these bumpers ever coming back in stock
On this video are you running stock coils and what sitting was on the 5100? Do you recommend stiffer coils after the bumper install?
Stock coils with Bilstein 5100s set to middle notch. I recently changed them out to Icon coilovers with a 700 pound spring and deleted the front sway bar links. Also added a winch. Here's that video: ruclips.net/video/S2unFVNRry8/видео.html
Hey buddy just found your channel, been doing some videos on my lifted sequoia, I ended up removing the front sway bar and it rides alot smoother, might do the rear after seeing your other video
Yeah, my front sway bar and links are going. I kept one link in the back. I think I like it!
Doing wheel spacers in todays video, after solving the wheel stud issue that toyota gave us all lol
Beast!!!!...keep the video's coming Josh!!!
Awesome. I have a 01 Sequoia and want to put the same bumper on. Is it the same for all 01-07?
Have you fitted a winch yet to this bumper? What are you running? I’m wondering if the badland apex 12000 will fit under it if I relocate the solenoid
I put a 12K super winch on. Had to relocate the solenoid next to the air box.
What did you do about the splash guard? Don't you leave the air intake really exposed cutting it that far back?
This: ruclips.net/video/46sHVJhRUms/видео.html
wow i live in texas also been working on my sequoia build for the last year its lifted and on 31" tires been looking for a bumper since day one great video maybe we can hit some trails in the future! good videos!
I’d love to do a local Sequoia meetup. What part of Texas?
1stgenoffroad Dallas/Fort Worth
I live i Austin. We should meet up at Toyota Jambo or Hidden Falls or something.
@@1stgenoffroad definately!! I'm available whenever
Thanks for making these videos! I tried looking for the bumper and the rock sliders on your site but I couldn’t find them (for an 05 Sequoia). It just shows the rear bumper. Any idea why? Thanks!
Restock the bumpers soon! I'm about to buy a 03 black sequoia! I live north of Austin
Nice yota bro, very clean bumper gives it an aggressive look, i was curious about your wheel and tire specs? And are you stock height or do you have a lift
2” lift. 285/70/17 BFG KO2 tires. Fuel Anza wheels. -6 offset.
@@1stgenoffroad ok cool bro mine has a 3" lift and its on 275/70/17 i was wondering if i could squeeze the next size after 285/70/17 but i dont think it would yours looks nice and snug as it is idk if i could clear 31s or 32s
I just bought a 05 Sequoia yesterday, wish this bumper would work for mine.
The bumper you've installed, this will fit in an 06 tundra correct? But it's NOT listed under the tundra portal area in your website.
Check with Billy at BruteForceFab.com. Tell him I sent you.
would that bumper fit on a 06 toyota tundra? the one they sell for the tundra is way big and don't like it.
Good stuff Josh. Do you happen to know how much your bumper weighs?
this is about 140 pounds.
What are the rock sliders you used?
Nice job! I have been in the market for one or a tundra 1st gens
They are great trucks. Take it from me and many others, you will not be disappointed.
I'm looking for a custom bumper for my 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find anything that will fit.
Looking great that flex gonna help alot on the trails.
Yes sir. Sequoia Summit 2018?
Liked and subbed , bumper looks great went to website to see about ordering one for my 01 sequoia but says it's currently out of stock gonna keep an eye out and hope to snag one
thanks for the sub. Take a look at bruteforcefab.com. Bill should be able to get you squared away.
Looks good! Heavy probably ...
Will you change the rear bumper, too? (with wicket under the spare wheel).
p.s. Why are the white letters on the tires on your inner side?
That is in the plans. Anrear swing out tire carrier.
And my tires are "blacked out". Just a style preference.
SWEET truck! where did you get your rock sliders?
Thanks. Sliders came from bruteforcefab.com
2004 Limited Seq. Love you bro!!! Do you have anything in the works for a rear bumper mod, spare wheel mod???
I second that request for a rear bumper. Wheel carriers too

Rear bumper 🤔 link loops to ...
@@1stgenoffroad looks like the link is broken do you have any other links to rear bumpers
On the website this bumper is only under the sequoia category, will it work on first gen tundras?
you don't possibly know the threads of the bolts for the body and skid plate do you? my bumper didn't come with hardware for that.
Dude. That rocks. I want that same setup for my 2006. We have deer.
How much was it with the options that you ordered?
Hey man where can I purchase this bumper? The link is out of stock?!
the 2 bolts you used at 12:30, the 2 on the right that threaded in, do you know what size bolt you used?? I can't seem to find out.
This makes me want to put that bumper on my 2001 Sequoia
Is it legal to install that kind of bumper in the US? In the country I am from it is illegal because if you hit a person with the new bumper it would be much more dangerous for him.
Tell them to watch out! I am not going to intentionally hit a pedestrian and if they jump in front of me it was their own fault!
Nice looking bumper. Thanks for sharing.
Hi nice video your sequoia look awesome. One cuestion what size are yours tires thank you
Thanks bud. I run 286/70/17 BFG KO2 ATs on Fuel Anza wheels with a -6 offset. My video for that one is here: ruclips.net/video/CtR6HpLV3OA/видео.html
like the Rudy’s BBQ box!! Awesome restaurant!! You located in NM?
Austin TX 👍
I was wondering when you put in that diff spacer did your lower control arm and lower ball joint had more stress or less
Lowered the front of the lower control arm. reduced the angle of the axle and LBJ.
Hey. Love your videos. I think I’ve watched all of them. Sorry if someone has asked or if I missed you mentioning it...but where are your rock sliders from?
Talk to billy at BruteForceFab.com
1stgenoffroad Will do… Thanks for the quick reply! 👍🏼
I love it! Thanks for making this vid!!!
Was this a custom bumper they built for you? Looked on their website and couldn't find anything for Sequoias. I'm interested in pricing.
Here you go: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/c7/Bumpers%2FArmor.html
1stgenoffroad thanks! I've been hunting hard for one to put on my first gen and these are perfect
Yes sir. These bumpers are a 100% bolt on work of art the the 1st gen.
Great video any recommendations for a rack and pinion for my 2006 Toyota Tundra 4wheel drive? Need to get mine replace thanks 😎
Two good options. The NAPA rack has a lifetime warranty, so that's good. The other option is the OE Toyota. Thanks!
Awesome! Love those rock sliders are they on the website?
Will the OME 2885 springs be a good option for the brute force bumper and retaining the 2in OME lift you sell?
Yeah, I think that would give your Sequoia about 2" with the weight of the bumper.
thank you sir!! i will order those 2885's from you soon.@@1stgenoffroad
did u do anything to your engine to give it more hp?
Not really. Did add a true cold air intake (snorkel).
What color did you use for your bumper
hi the looks great i do have Tundra 20004 i know i can you fit one of those can you tell me where i can get one of those? for my Tundra 2004 double door SR5
Here you go: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p83/2000-2006_Tundra_Off_Road_Bumper_.html#/
any idea on the added weight of that bumper? Just curious for front spring rates.
About 150 lbs
You paint so fast!
what year is your sequoia? is this bumper good for all 1st Gen?
It’s an ‘04. If you’re looking for a bumper, check bruteforcefab.com or addictedoffroad.com
Thanks
Does that bumper lower the fuel economy
probably
Love the channel! Just bought an 06 Tundra. Looking everywhere for a bumper. Does one exist for less than $1500? That’s such a chunk of cheese!
Congratulations. It it a double cab or an access cab? ARB makes an off the shelf option for the access cab. It ships for free and comes powder coated. Here's the the link to that: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p14/2000-2006_TUNDRA%2C_ARB_SAHARA_BAR_BUMPER.html
Other great options can be found at bruteforcefab.com or addictedoffroad.com. But they are shipped bare metal and do not ship for free.
And I know these sound expensive, but prices will only likely go up.
Went to website... couldn't find front bumper. Just rear. Advise?
go to bruteforcefab.com
@@1stgenoffroad thank you sir
do you plan on making a rear bumper video?
I like that bumper. Can it be painted or chrome plated ?
It can definitely be painted. Not sure about chrome plated.
@@1stgenoffroad - I like your idea of powder coat better 👍
Any idea when we will see these in stock?
Check with Billy at bruteforcefab.com or Scott at addictedoffroad.com
Did you make a video on the rock sliders?
That's next.
how come your truck has no scrapes or scratches like a real 4WD?
Trust me, it’s got pin striping. But I don’t run it into trees like a jackass.
Thanks for the vid . True work 👍
What type of sliders are those?!🤘🏾
Where can I get that bumper? The link here says it’s sold out. Anyone else have an idea where I can get them? Thanks in advance.
I went to site and it says out of stock. In any case I want the bumper you installed for a Tundra double cab. Do they make it?
Two options. Addictedoffroad.com or bruteforcefab.com. Tell them you want what josh has from 1stgenoffroad.com
Thanks! Great DIY vids!
Great vid Brother. Keep them coming Please.
Also little stuff, like front bump stops.
have bump stop rear & front??
