No colector da SPA tens pelo menos 1cm que podes cortar em ângulo 21:38 “para ficar como o colector de origem” poderás e não ter muito material/profundidade para os parafusos, e fazes um bocado de proting para ajudar no flow 27:33
Good, I got quite a few in mind, just generally its hard to film them. This was literally an off the cuff unplanned chat to nobody I had that turned in to a video lol
Good shit. I was brainstorming some inlet ideas the other day to make a center feed that’ll work on mine. Shout me if you end up needing any flanges etc knocking up 😎
A flowed small port could be anything up to a big port, as it’s the same casting just with more metal removed. For what it’s worth mine is just standard small ports, no flowing
One of the early N/A ones, exactly what years had it I don’t know. Pretty sure only longitudinal ones, and only early ones. They come large and small port. I have a spare large port one here too I ended up with by accident thinking I was buying another small port one.
Personally i think the difference between the runners is higher under vacuum, under boost air density should increase everywhere so air flow would equalize more or less. Maybe that's what you said, I'm just thinking loudly.
@@billbrockbank8111 unless someone wants to do a comparison of the unmodified one vs my one (I have both here) we can only speculate. I personally think it’s the runners not the plenum, but a back to back test mine vs the off the shelf one would show which part is the shit(est 😂) but.
@@billbrockbank8111 wel the plenum is sucking in what must be 650 or so going by my performance numbers, but it’s defo restricting it hence the new plenum and big port plan. Should hopefully be night and day. If anyone’s up for a back to back test, I could supply my modified inlet, and a off the shelf one with the long skinny runners, and even a stock bam one if need be. That would show which part is the big restriction, and if both parts are to some extent too. Can’t on my car as the long as fuck standard version of that inlet don’t even fit mine lol. Would make for a good techy and proven RUclips video actually, I’d be up for that.
@StavTech no mate, ive tested it, it sux... regardless of runner length...the losses aren't going to vanish with 2-3" cut off... the slot is the restriction... loosing 25+bhp on a k04 hybrid flow and choking at low 400s on a g25-550 we ran, conclusively proved how poor flowing it was. Dahlback wrc version was only 300bhp cars, restrictor turbos.... It was never designed for the numbers you're pushing...same argument vs stock, just because it too can flow, doesn't make it efficiently doing so...
Thanks for the plug Steve. Great info.
excellent vid as always, really interesting findings and info and answered a few Qs i had floating about in my head, all power to ya !!!
Cheers!

Great video , answered many questions in my head
Love these indepth detailed specific videos 👌👌

love these videos, great knowledge you have Stav!
Thank you! 🙏

Thanks for the info 😊 I'm hoping to fit a flowed smallport to my Polo 9N3 GTI. Any tips pls

Thanks - much appreciated!
Custom manifold with charge cooler or even interchiller?
No, that would be a downgrade
What model is the lower injector boss part you welded from?

Airflow is far less equal under boost than n/a, like engine destroyingly less. I wish it did equal out, intake design would be easy then
the dual plenum DB copy lost 25bhp on our lupo when tested at 380bhp on stock inlet manifold.
The skinny runners are the issue I reckon, hence why we cut them off straight away. Certainly isn’t doing my shitbox any big harm lol
