- After testing the new Sirui 24mm lens on both my BMPCC4k + Olympus EM1x + Atomos Ninja V, I can safely say I love the series even more. Having something wider for my MFT cameras makes shooting run and gun videos much more achievable.

Yours is the only review on RUclips that shows the working distance of the lens. Thank you so much. This is probably the most useful review I've found to date. Great content man! Thank you!
Hi Paulo, thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch over this review. I like to include all the stuff that I myself would want to hear. No fluff! Hope it helped with your decision. Cheers.
Best review of this lens, hands down!
Thank you for the kind words!
Seriously.. looking forward on watching the old & the what is coming up video's. Great job.
Ahh that means alot! Thanks so much! Have some new videos in the pipeline!
Grt, thx..good to know about those distances.
Glad it was useful mate! Definitely would need a diopter to shoot close!
I really do love the look of these lenses. They are game changing, honestly. It was impossible to get a single focus anamorphic lens solution for this price prior to these lenses existing.
Really glad to see how Sirui is playing technical disruptor here, and I'm excited to see what other manufacturers do in this new budget anamorphic space.
I own all three lenses, and I'm looking forward to adding the rumored upcoming 85mm version to my set!
Thanks for this video!

Hey mate! Thanks so much for the kind words and detailed response! They really are providing the masses with affordable and fun tools to create awesome content. Oh the 85mm would be rad! Although super tight but awesome for portraits!
Let's see what happens. I'm keen to shoot with one!
@@etchd_ yup. Technical disruption is good for all us unwashed masses lol
Great video…..lots of great information. I have the 24 and 50. I guess I’ll get the 35. In for a dollar……
Thanks Peter! The 35mm is my pick of the bunch I’d say 👌
Which camera cage did you use for olympus om-d e-m1x on this video? Please give me some info about that 🙏🙏🙏
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. It was actually a loaner from one of the tech guys at Olympus Australia. Its a universal Smallrig one that can slide up and down to accommodate gripped bodies. It actually worked really well. It does make the camera a bit of a beast, but ergonomics are great. Honestly though, I still prefer using a hand strap and just a small top handle to film with it.
@@etchd_ Oh. Did you need a raiser for follow focus?
@@etchd_ Oh. Did you need a raiser for follow focus?
@@thamoigeemapao391 didn't use follow focus on the Olympus, all hand-held and manual focus! So no idea if you need one sorry
Can you recommend the EM1X for shooting video, how is the image quality compared to a Gh5 or bmcc4k? and how is it to shot in low light?
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, the EM1x can't compete in the video realm with those two cameras. 8-bit footage needs to have the exposure nailed to look great in anything but the most gentle colour grade. The autofocus is of course amazing compared to something like the BMPCC4k, as it of course, has none. But the quality of footage out of the Blackmagic is simply amazing. the GH5 is a video centred camera, and has the features to match. That said, I film on the Olympus cameras all the time and when using C4k, a 1/8 promist and some careful exposure techniques, the footage looks beautiful.
If you had to pick one only which one would it be ?
Hi mate, i reckon the 35mm would be my pick! for M4/3 its got enough depth to enhance the anamorphic look!
F2.8 or F1.8?
Hi Jim, what do you mean? is the lens 2.8 or should you go for 2.8?
@@etchd_ From INDIEGOGO page, it said Sirui 24mm F2.8, is there a new bigger lens (F1.8) out?
@@etchd_ By the way, I like your review of showing ( 3rd person view) : the distance of camera and talent/person when shooting
@@taobsu mate I'm so glad you brought that up! It was a typo 😂. Phew. Glad you liked the distance examples as well 😁
What's the best? They're the best for me... not for you... for who is it the best? For whom isn't? It's the best anamorphic budget lens...
