Ronaldinho was a midfielder, so we can't compare him with strikers, as they don't score lots of goals. The comparison with Neymar should never exist. As we say in Brazilian Portuguese, Neymar is good, but he doesn't clean Ronaldinho's shoes, meaning he has no use next to him. Cheers from Brazil, guys! ✌

Ronaldinho's peak was extremely high, but because he didn't take care of himself, he didn't stay fit and his peak didn't last too long. At any rate, one of the greatest footballers of all time, one of the most important footballers of that football era and one of the important footballers in Barcelona history.

@doncarlo4576 in what sense? By the op's description he is without a doubt one of the best. As a Barca fan since the R9 Era I can say he played a massive part in the post Rivaldo- pre Messi times. Before his arrival Barca was in shambles. That 1st season before the arrivals of Messi, Deco, Giuly etc was his most incredible imo and one of the best I've seen of any player at Barca considering the talent he was surrounded by.

To be fair Ronaldinho was a Middlefielder. I know people remember him for the 3 years he played as a Winger at Barcelona but he was a Middlefield. And as a winger he completely changed the how Wingers play. He birthed Morden day wingers, crazy thing he was never meant to play there, both Barcelona and Man united wanted him to play the same role as David Beckham, him as a winger was a accident that completely changed the game of football. He is the most gifted footballer ever, maybe Second to Maradona, but he is regarded as the most gifted and entertaining footballer to ever play the game, Vision of an eagle, insane long distance passing accuracy, possible the most creative, one of the best free kick specialist, playermaker-goalscorer. He could attack or sit back and just put out insane passes. When he came through, coaches had to figure out a new way of defending

Both Messi & C. Ronaldo are monsters but their team always depended on them to finish the play.
Ronaldinho created the space and assisted alot.
Sadly, he didnt really have players in their prime to play next to him like Messi had Neymar & Suarez.
And to talk about what happened to him, I always said that something messed up must’ve happen for him to lose ambition.

5:56 About his worth I can answer you about "Why his worth is low?" at that time.
    1. He's not european player. So if he want to play in big club he must go from academy level(junior team) about 1-2 years first then he can go to the main team. If not he would count as a foreign aid which cause some rule to protect domestic players which said that "A team can send a Foreign players in a game at most 3-4 people/game etc. except he can get a work permit from one of those european countries. Which some country are more strict but some of them also very loose.
and French league is one of them. He can play there for a year in the main team and get work permit by the way. instead of playing a lower team in big club.
    2. Yes they have some rule to except for talented players but that still need him to play certain amount of National matches to be able to include him in this clause which obviously he can't wait that long to play in Europe or he would be forgotten by then. And he shouldn't willing to play in junior team accord to the first term either.
    3. At that time this amount of value are already high compare to his few national team appearances at that time. You should know that before CR7,Gareth Belle,Neymar or Embappe break contract record left and right at that time 30M is already world record of that era. So 5M for a young players with many restriction is already very high. the high contract players just became turbulent after CR7 deal from ManU to Madrid.
