    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  Год назад

      Yes, I would retry the steps with a white towel and see what happens. If you see yellow on your white towel, keep repeating the steps until fully gone. If you still have a yellow spot that doesn't seem to be moving, I would treat the area with Stain Fu and let it air dry, and repeat as necessary. It's possible that the dye transfer from the towel made the spot permanent, but hopefully that's not the case. Let us know how it goes!

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  3 года назад +1

      Hi, and thanks for writing. If you have a lot of pet stains throughout, it's a good idea to have it professionally cleaned. That said, it is possible that you have contamination in the padding and possibly the subfloor, which cause odors to wick up from below into the room. A professional cleaning company can check for subsurface contamination with a few different kinds of tools, including a moisture meter and UV light.
      If it's just a few areas that you can address yourself, obviously we recommend using Stain Fu to remove the odors. :) If the urine is deep in the carpet backing, pad, and subfloor, you'll need to use enough product to completely saturate those areas with Stain Fu, then blot up, and place a stack of white terry towels on the stain(s), and place something heavy on the towels, like a heavy book or brick. Since carpet dries from the bottom up, the weighted towels use wicking action to pull the contamination from deep below the surface up into the towels. Inspect the towels after several hours and repeat as necessary with a new application of Stain Fu and fresh towels.
      Please always follow directions on the label, and if you need personal assistance, we're always glad to help! support@stainfu.com

    Will this work on a very long shaggy wool rug? My dog thinks its her backyard and won’t stop peeing on it. When would you recommend using a spot cleaner vacuum, like a Bissell? My husband wants to just throw out the rug but it was $$$. But to professionally clean it is the price of the rug. I’m confused if it’s best to do what this video says or will i get a deeper clean with some hot water & cleaner/scrubbing, and sucking process? Or do both?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  Год назад +1

      Based on your situation, I think a combo of both would be best. If the urine is somewhat fresh, I would use your extractor first to try and get as much urine out of the rug as possible. If you're able to, you can even flip the rug over and try to extract the foundation that way as well. Also, if it is indeed wool, it's best to use cold water.
      If the urine is old or has dried, the method we show in the video should work, but you'll have to make sure you use enough product to treat the long fibers and also get to the foundation of the rug. Try to pull back the fibers as best as you can to get to the base, and then apply the product. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then stack white towels with a weight on top. You might have to do this a few times, depending on how severe the issue is.
      You can check out our video from our carpet cleaning channel if you'd like: ruclips.net/video/bVr2rAqB7WY/видео.html We go over how we would clean pet accidents from a shaggy rug. We'll try to make a future video for this channel too :) Best of luck!

      @@StainFu I’m trying to process. It’s going to be tedious but I’ll just do a section per day. I had no idea how bad it was but I can see stains in the base. Do you have any recommendations for something to put on the rug so my dog will stop doing it?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  Год назад +1

      @@whiteemic From our experience, dogs/pets will usually keep going in an area because they feel comfortable with that location, or they like the texture/feel of that area.
      If possible, I would try to move the area rug into a different location and see if your dog keeps doing it. Puppy pee pads are kind of hit and miss, but if your dog keeps going in the same spot, you can try to put some pee pads on the area and the rug to "change the texture" for your dog and see what she does. She might go on the pee pads, she might try to go in a different area, it's hard to say. If only we could read their minds!
      If there are any health concerns, you might want to take her to the vet as well. We have some customers who have told us their dog ended up having a medical issue and that's why it kept peeing. We've even seen instances like stress from moving or lifestyle changes causing a dog to potty inside.
      Let us know how it goes!

    Will the towels be permanently stained? How do I get any staining out of the towels? Will this work on a natural fiber rug like a woven jute rug? How about a fabric couch?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  2 года назад +3

      Usually it comes out with normal laundering, however there are certain times where it could stain the towels. We recommend using multi-purpose terry towels/shop towels for just in case :)
      Woven jute is very tricky to clean, even for a professional. Stain Fu and other spot cleaners might end up lifting the color from the rug, so I would spot test before using anything. Jute tends to brown (leave darker brown spots) when it gets wet, so try to dry it as quickly as you can as well.
      Yes this will work on fabric couches, but I also would test first as well - some couch fabrics might be super sensitive and not react well. Great questions!

    Does this help with the stain on harwood floors ?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  3 года назад +1

      Hi - several of our customers have used Stain Fu to at least some degree of success on finished wood floor stains. It will likely raise the grain on unfinished wood (depends on the species), so remember it is an oxidizer and is designed to break down organic material. (wood is organic) That said, it can work effectively depending on several factors like species of wood, degree of staining, degree of finish remaining, and dwell time of product on the stain. We would only recommend it as a last ditch effort, only on finished wood, where sanding and refinishing is the only other option. We recommend only up to 15 minute dwell time before wiping up and allowing the wood to completely dry before subsequent attempts.
      We're not familiar with any specific product that is completely safe and restorative for all wood floor installations outside of sanding and refinishing. A product designed for wood deck bleaching may work (which will likely contain oxalic acid), but again may cause secondary damage like raised fibers, so please test and proceed with caution.

    Will Stain Fu remove old blood stains from the carpet in my basement? There's about 3-5 gallons worth that has accumulated over the years from prostitutes I've lured down there.

    Does this work for cat pee on mattresses?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  4 года назад +1

      Yes! However, mattresses can be tough, depending on how much urine is in the mattress. Be sure to use enough Stain Fu to completely saturate the stain(s), let Stain Fu sit on the stain for a while (the deeper the stain, the longer - generally 10 minutes to 30 minutes should be sufficient) and blot up with a white terry cloth towel. Let it completely dry and repeat, if necessary.

      I never knew so many people would accuse this of being fake, but with all the fake videos out there, I understand the skepticism! As you can see from the spraying, the yellowing was mostly gone just from that. There was some slight coloring on the towel afterward, but not too much. We had the towel on the spot for a few hours, so it's not going to be soaking wet. It was a little bit damp, but it's hard to show that on camera. You can try it for yourself if you'd like :)

      @@StainFu hey are u sure this is really an old stain? I am currently renting home from my landlord and my Yorkie has peed quite a bit on the carpet and due to my health problems I have not been able to clean all the messes so there are stains that are months old and im so terrified that I won't get my deposit back from my landlord when I move out if I can not get the urine stains out. I want to be sure this truly works and I do not have the same cleaner you are using but I have another type of urine remover I can use.

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  2 года назад +2

      @Cassie White Yes, this is definitely at least a year old stain :). We were puppy sitting for a friend in April 2018, and the puppy urinated a few times on carpet so we could get some samples. We came back to the sample piece of carpet and made a video in August 2019. We are carpet cleaners by day, and also sell a stain remover for pet stains, so it's completely normal to us (lol). If you are using another urine remover, I would check the instructions just to double check what they suggest. Specifically, if it's an enzyme cleaner. Is that what you are using?

      @YOUNG RAPHAEL We're here to help, so believe what you want. But if you actually have a fresh urine stain (even 20 minutes old) it would still be wet. What you'd want to do first is blot up as much urine as you can, and then treat the areas. We have another video for that listed in the description.

    Bacteria in urine?

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  4 года назад +3

      Bacteria forms once the urine is out of the body and onto the carpet /surface because urine is a food source for it. If you clean pet urine right away, it usually doesn't smell. Once it sits and dries like the example above is when we usually smell the odors because of the bacterial reaction. It is possible to have bacteria in the urine before they pee if there is an infection or something wrong with your pet.

    Great idea to push the urine and the remedy deeper into the carpet padding and sub-flooring, with a book or weights. This is ridiculous as a solution to anything but stains on the actual carpet. Hard pass.

    • @StainFu
      @StainFu  Год назад +4

      Since carpet dries from the bottom to the top, the weight is allowing the urine and product to absorb into the towels. In most cases the urine is already in the pad and subfloor, so you need weight to get it out.
