🛌 STAY AT GREEN BAMBOO GUEST HOUSE tidd.ly/3Wa8R6a Sigiriya was absolutely amazing and we thoroughly recommend staying with this wonderful family there. ❤
While we were on our way to Pidurangala Rock (which is located right opposite to Sigiriya Lion Rock) we spotted a mother Bear crossing the road with her cub! The wildlife here is unbelievable!
Wow. That's amazing! We only saw a bear in Yala NP and thought we were lucky. ❤️. It really does feel alive with wildlife around Sigiriya. We loved it. 👍
I'm a hobbyist wildlife photographer based in Sri Lanka, and I've been exploring the country for about a decade. Even now, I still discover species I haven't seen before every time I visit a different area. The biodiversity here is truly remarkable.
I accidentally found your videos done in Sri Lanka and thoroughly enjoyed them. As a Sri Lankan, I am familiar with the sceneries and the food. I think I am attracted to your simplicity and sincerity more than anything else.
Thank you so much indeed. 🙏❤️. Our videos are simple but we like to show the reality of travel and life in the places we visit. Sri Lanka was amazing and we left with happy memories of wonderful experiences there. 🙏❤️🇱🇰

A question to ponder: Where are the descenders of creators of Sigiriya?. The writings on the mirror wall says, the ruler had representatives from far away countries like Greece in his court. The ruins in Anuradhapura has similarities to those in Greece. The truth is that they are spread out all over the world and rest of the island. Thanks for this lovely video.
This is definitely something to ponder. I would like to investigate the ruins in Anuradhapura and elsewhere. There is so much in Sri Lanka to see. 🙏❤️🇱🇰
@@FrugalTravellers Let’s say each year a dust layer of one mm gets attached to the ground(dust is positively charged). In 2500 years a layer of 2.5 m would have buried what was previously on the ground. In A’pura they found the artifacts, coins etc of Greek settlement belonging to 900 BC about 20 feet underground. So, Alexander the Great knew where he was heading for. In facts some historians suggest that it was king Porus’s children who founded the Sinhala nation. A recently discovered massive rock inscription clearly mention king Paurusha’s son (Porus) Muta Siva ruling in Southern Sri Lanka.
We completely agree, My Little Friend. The entrance price for foreigners to visit Sigiriya Rock is now almost the same as Machu Picchu... which means many foreign tourists will choose to go elsewhere in Sri Lanka. This is so unfortunate for the local businesses in Sigiriya!
@sahenliyanage3688 I'm not sure where you travel to, or what you earn, but paying 9,000 LKR, which is £24 or $30, to climb Sigiriya Rock is extremely expensive by Western standards 🤔😲 ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers extremely expensive? Are you serious? London Westminster entrance fee: 29£ St Paul Cathedral entrance fee: 34 £ Kingston Palace entrance fee: 26 £ These are some examples. You don't spend one day in these places. U need just one hour or less to spend in all these places.

Thank you Frugal Travellers for such intel. Looks is like if we ever make it there we must eat at the Vegan Lion. It looked delicious. You guys always meet neat people because YOU ARE! Great video!

Helo nice travelers, Your this video also Informative for others travelers.thank you very much. Srilanka enrich in natural beauty as well as hospitality. What is your next destination?
Amazing ,Trincomalee is also an attractive and historical city of srilanka. It has many religious temples, hot water springs and beautiful beaches. Trincomalee harbor is one of the largest natural harbor in the world. Normaly it has a hot climate.Further you can taste delicious sea foods in there. Have fun and awaiting your next video ☺️
I made up my own itinerary hotels etc and had a driver .. I couldnt climb the rock ..so admired birds and rock from near instead. Sri was a fascinating place and loved every moment. Best minute seeing a giant squirrel hanging down from a branch staring at me plus elephants without chains in a conservation area... and small bears..no big game to see but enough to make me happy. I think you get such cheap prices. I always get higher even trying to negotiate a tuk tuk they dont want to know!!! 😂Wasnt budgeting that time but now gave to drastically.!!!
@@lbunnygordon1133 That's so interesting to hear... thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us all. When it came to negotiating with taxis we'd always check the price on the PickMe app first, just to get a rough idea. Aren't the giant squirrels incredible! We'd never seen anything like them before! 🇱🇰😍♥️
Thank you, Carolina. We really love travelling this way. It brings us in touch with the local people who are all so friendly and welcoming here. We like the freedom of going at our own pace also which is not possible on a tour. If we really enjoy somewhere, we choose to stay a while longer as we did here. ❤️
Hello Julie! Yes, the food was amazing there... simply the most incredible eggplant/aubergine I have ever tried, and the other dishes were so tasty as well! Sigiriya was beautiful, and we would have loved to have stayed longer. It's on our list of places to return 🤗🙏🇱🇰♥️
Hi Callum. The restaurant was changing its name... last year it was the Vegan Lion, which is still the name on Instagram. It was located opposite thr Post Office guesthouses, which you should be able to find on Maps.
