You guys must, Must, MUST react to the official video of this, even if you don't do it on the channel...the video gives a clearer context of what's going on in the song :) There are 2 characters that go through various stages, and it's the same 2 people talking to each other in the afterlife during the duet. Trust me, the video will explain everything.
@@gamexsimmonds3581 I don't mind if they watch it off cam - they already reacted to the song, but they just didn't seem to "fully" get the meaning (although they got parts of it.)
Please, redo this with the official music video. It makes so much more sense. It is a dark song. But, the rest of thier music is a bit different. Check out critical acclaim, shepherd of fire, the stage. All great songs
Okay, so their late drummer Jimmy is a HUGE fan of Tim Burton and his twisted productions. My understanding is that this was his homage to that style and even got some backing horn work from some people that worked previously for Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo fame, who is a frequent musical collaborator of Tim's. It's got an animated music video that helps people visualize what's taking place in the song. It's kind of Jimmy's magnum opus before his tragic passing. Hilarious in it's macabre absurdity. Def check out the actual video at some point even if on your own time.
Also, So Far Away is fantastic, it's over the loss of their drummer The Rev, who did some of the vocals in this song, and I think he even wrote this one among many others
Oh me! While I lovelovelove this song, it’s probably not the best intro to Avenged Sevenfold. Do watch the official video. Avenged Sevenfold is in heavy rotation in my musical life. Some other tunes to consider: Buried Alive, Trashed & Scattered, Nightmare, Afterlife, The Stage, and the album version of Beast and the Harlot. I could go on and on. They really are a versatile group.
I forgot about this Heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold....and now I remember the first time experiencing them was in a Heavy Metal Festival......when I friend dragged me to the festival............They were Excellent .....very Talented....Very Theatrical!!!! And they performed some songs that sounded like it should have been in a Broadway Musical!!!! I would love to seen this song in concert!!!!
Asia and BJ The reason why she rejected his proposal is because she knows that life is temporary. She wants to live it to the fullest before she dies. The reason she accepted when both of them were dead is because death is eternal. Regardless this song. I love it.
It will not be on my playlist, for sure. But.... Songfacts®: A romantic, yet very dark song, this is about a couple living together. The man fears that something will happen and their relationship and will break up, so he takes control and kills his girl, preserves her and rapes her dead body when needed. Soon she comes back from the dead and kills her man the same way he did. He is brought back from the dead and they get back together after he feels remorse for what he did. They get married in death for the rest of their unnatural life before they start killing other people.
While this one was dark and sinister, the song "So Far Away" will tug at your heart. It's about the loss of their bandmate (drummer) James "Jimmy" Owen Sullivan (February 9, 1981 - December 28, 2009) Fun fact! Jimmy wrote this song "A little piece of Heaven."
As a huge A7X fan, I enjoyed this reaction a lot. There are many more good songs for them. So far away is a song for their drummer (the Rev) who passed away and it is very good
it's their weird song. it's a musical masterpiece tho. check out more of their regular songs haha. or check out the same song live in the lbc 2009. everyone sings its a great performance.
Basically, the story is a man proposed to his girlfriend during a dinner. She laughed at him and rejected his proposal. In a fit of rage the boyfriend murders her stabbing her over 50 times and cutting her heart out. He then proceeds to live with her dead corpse and do some very mess up things to it. However, she comes back from the dead and kills him. Doing the same to him as he did to her, he realizes that he was in the wrong all along. On his way to hell he promises to find a way to make it right. Upon reaching hell he finds her and swears to make it right, to which she agrees to give him one more chance. They eventually get married and spend the rest of eternity together. Believe it or not, this is technically a love song.
This song cracks me up every time someone reacts to it. It's an extremely fun catchy song for extremely disturbing and uncomfortable topics (necrophilia, murder, cannibalism), and seeing the juxtaposition between the two on reactors' faces is priceless. BJ's reaction 2.5 minutes in, just before Asia starts reading the lyrics, is exactly what I am talking about.
That’s what I love about metal. A good metal song, you should be able to envision it being in a play. Now this song specifically is a little more of a literal example of a play-like composition. But still. Listen to avenged, Iron Maiden, megadeth, Judas Priest, Metallica, and many of their songs could be on Broadway. You have a great ear.
They threw you in deep for your first song! Check out Dear God, Seize the Day, and So Far Away once you learn about The Rev!!! Watch the video of Little Piece of Heaven and you’ll get the animated look you expected!
Definitely have to watch the video, even if you don't record the reaction (it's pretty messed up during parts). But it will make more sense when you see it. Very creative.
Such a awesome song but you have to take it in context. It's meant to be comical. Almost didn't make the album. Now its a oncor at most of there shows. Brilliant writing by THE REV. Also my wife almost jumped out of car when I played it for her. 🤣 🤣
LOL out of all this bands music, did you pick this song first? Ya'll should have watched the official video though. An amazing band been through a lot, many great songs. You'll see in the comments.
Oh no, you guys missed the vid. Y'all would love it I believe. Not everyone has the sense of humor for it. I think y'all would. It's a trip. Great tho fr.

Yes they were exactly on point with their reaction. And will still be blown away. I simp for A7X. #aew
I'm sure they will watch it in their own time
Yessss. Let's Make this priority
@@gamexsimmonds3581 I don't mind if they watch it off cam - they already reacted to the song, but they just didn't seem to "fully" get the meaning (although they got parts of it.)
Fuck yeah
Please, redo this with the official music video. It makes so much more sense. It is a dark song. But, the rest of thier music is a bit different. Check out critical acclaim, shepherd of fire, the stage. All great songs
Yesss, gotta see the official video!!! #RIPREV Masterpiece!!!!! 🔥🤘😎🥰
💯🧟

Mark Mann did all of the orchestra for the self titled album too
Also, So Far Away is fantastic, it's over the loss of their drummer The Rev, who did some of the vocals in this song, and I think he even wrote this one among many others
He helped Syn write it for Syn grandpa but after The Rev died Syn changed the lyrics
The official video is entirely animated! You guys are spot on.
I think the song is largely about love after death.✌️
I concur whole heartedly! 🤘🤘
foREVer
This really needed the video
There is.
Their entire collect is amazing. They are 80s kids so they appreciate all genre of music
You guys got to do the official video for this song

Asia and BJ

"SO FAR AWAY"
RIP JIMMY THE REV SULLIVAN foREVer 🥁🤘🤘
You need to watch the video and then come back and tell us what you thought about it. Lol. The video is more of a trip than the song.
Now that you've heard the song, you should watch them do this live! Live in LBC!
It will not be on my playlist, for sure. But....

I bet if they did the official video, t they might of reacted differently imo
There is an official animated video. Dark but perfect for this song.
"You had my heart, at least for the most part" - such a sweet little hook
As a huge A7X fan, I enjoyed this reaction a lot. There are many more good songs for them. So far away is a song for their drummer (the Rev) who passed away and it is very good
This is a rare song where you literally have to watch the music video. It's not even debatable.
I highly suggest y'all react to their song "so far away". It's powerful
Buried Alive or The Stage would be a better idea of what A7X is like
You should check out seize the day and gun slinger.
THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE, AND THE VIDEO IS SO REAL AND GLORIOUS
3:48. Yep. Y'all would LOVE the official vid🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh PLEASE watch that one 🙏

Great reaction bro , Next: Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife (Live In the LBC)
I haven’t heard this song before. The melody reminds me of the song that plays through the Haunted House ride at Disneyland.
He liked it when rev started harmonizing with M Shadow at the end. Most people don’t catch it.

Bat country, afterlife, beast and the harlet, almost easy and so many more
If you guys want a switch on their presence and vibe check out their song dear god. Very very great song
i saw them do it in concert in long beach.
It's a love story with a bit of murder, cannibalism, a touch of necrophilia. What else could you ask for! LOLOL
This song cracks me up every time someone reacts to it. Nightmare. Bat country & hail to the king 🔥🔥🔥
The official video reaction would be worth it. Cause i am not sure you realized the most shocking part of the song. And yes, they went there!
The whole album is Broadway I love em. She's dead and he's warming her up
Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country" is my favorite.

They threw you in deep for your first song! Check out Dear God, Seize the Day, and So Far Away once you learn about The Rev!!!
Watch the video of Little Piece of Heaven and you’ll get the animated look you expected!

You two should've never reacted to this song without watching the official video.

There is a animated music video the band did to tell the story.. worth checking out
Watch the official video its like its own little rock opera
He never gave her the chance to say yes or no. And then there’s some murder, necrophilia and cannibalism. And then some zombie murder love.
Definitely have to watch the video, even if you don't record the reaction (it's pretty messed up during parts). But it will make more sense when you see it. Very creative.
The live version from live in LBC is awesome btw!
Rip Jimmy (the REV) :(
Afterlife...to me is their best song by far...this song is ridiculous

Please review also A little peace of heaven live in LBC 2009.
sounds like it could be a song from the movie A Nightmare Before Christmas
this song always reminds me of a song from a Tim Burton movie
Despite the orchestral nature of the music, this song is so dark.
You gotta watch the video!!!!!!!!!!!
You just watched the lyric video watch the actual animation video
I love your reactions !! A7x is the absolute best! You should do god damn or exist.
Such a awesome song but you have to take it in context. It's meant to be comical. Almost didn't make the album. Now its a oncor at most of there shows. Brilliant writing by THE REV. Also my wife almost jumped out of car when I played it for her. 🤣 🤣
