This generation honda accord also had a tsb about the vibration at stops involving a weight for the bumper and some washers for the radiator. But I haven't been able to find the kit online only the weight. If anyone knows the part numbers please list it on this thread. I believe that it would help a lot of people.
The radio unit killing itself with loud popping noises is another very common issue. The A/C and Vent control unit not doing what you ask is also another common issue. And I also don't have any interior lighting due to an unfindable short. Not sure if this is common though. And yes of coarse the power steering reservoir spewing its foamy oil all over the alternator and killing it slowly is another common problem. I've heard this is due to a bad OE seal on the power steering pump itself that allows air to enter the lines and causes the oil to foam and expand in the reservoir and then push itself out the top and somehow makes its way the the serpentine belt and mainly the alternator. But hey the car is a damn good survivor. Got over 320,000 miles on mine.
The inlet joint o ring, which is 92 cent from Honda fixed mine with replacing the fluid. Very very common issue almost all of them will have it. The o ring over time changes to being flat shaped from round and leaks. The reservoir is also a good thing to replace, tiny hairline fractures from heat cycles get air in the system too. My pump is oem with 267k miles
I’ve owned mine from new. Currently has 130k miles (crazy I know) and she still runs perfectly. I have never had a single issue other than replacing brakes and a couple batteries! Best car I’ve ever owned and will honestly probably never get rid of it. She’s my ol reliable!
@@daviderhahon well David I had an 04 that beat the crap out of and I hit a deer going 110 mph and totalled it so what do I do I bought an 06 I'm a Honda/Acura guy for life and yes I'm also beating the crap out of my 06 and it just doesn't care
Word of advice don't chase motor mount vibration by replacing just one at a time, replace them all at once so that the older mounts won't cause your newer mount to fail prematurely.
@@keithbrown2425 I’ve read on many forum pages that aftermarket mounts don’t work and cause more vibration (or go out early like at 30K). On those pages they only suggest OEM mounts
They didn’t mention: power steering pump (which leaks, makes noises and predominantly sucks) and radio as well as front bumper or fenders just coming apart over time. Just FYI I have v6 7th gen and I still love it.
My power steering in my 03 is smooth as silk in warm weather but non existent in the cold. I bought the replacement O-rings and the correct amount of genuine Honda power steering fluid. I’m hoping that it solves not only my issue, but the horrid whine while turning. Nevertheless my 03 LX had 289k miles and runs like new.
235,000 miles and counting on my 2007 Accord EX with the 4-cyl. engine. I bought it with 223,000 miles, and I'm the fifth owner (I think). I replaced the ignition switch myself after sometimes getting a grinding noise behind the steering wheel when I tried to start the car. Regarding the transmission: There is a replaceable inline ATF filter, but I've talked to Honda techs who swear up and down there's no replaceable filter, or when I point it out to them, say it doesn't need to be replaced. Probably not a bad idea to replace the filter and do a few drains and refills if you're the new owner of a 7th-generation Accord.
Best car I owned, I still drive it everyday as a daily driver, no problems and it’s a 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 and every peppy for a V6. Mines got 193,000 miles and still ride like a dream with no problems!
If i had a 2006-2007 honda accord ex v6 sedan with a 6 speed manual oh boy would that be fun to drive that's on my bucket list of finding one if i can and also learn how to drive stick with it also i would find one in graphite pearl with a black colored interior with the leather seats and fog lights and the optional rear spoiler
@@iggi70 Timing belt should be replaced by 80k but most people will put it off till 120k when it starts giving them real issues. I recently bought an '03 V6 Accord and the first thing I'm replacing is timing belt, water pump, and power steering pump.
252,000 miles on my 2007 EX V6 Sedan. Single owner and it’s still my daily. Still original everything from the factory floor and still take 3+ hour trips away from home. Some small dents and scratches but in all, still a beauty to me. It’s such a simple car I do all my own maintenance, including the timing belt and water pump which I did in May 2021. All fluids on time every time. I just finally replaced the factory brake rotors 15 years later two weekends ago along with akebono pads. I also use an FM Bluetooth smart phone adapter and IT CHANGED MY DRIVING LIFE. Turned my old car into modern hands free calling, instant connect to play music wirelessly on my factor stereo and speakers, and for just $20 on Amazon. Connects and works faster and better than my wife’s new Toyota. Phone call quality was great.
FM adapter with charging ports, places to set your phone holder in the vents. Who needs modern infotainment systems when all you need is your directions ,music, and current time.
I'm probably going to be buying a 2007 Accord SE V6. It's a one owner, has 138k miles. Been very well maintained. I know there were trans issues on 03-05 models, but haven't heard about much with the 2006-2007. So hoping they're more reliable!
Sounds great. I also have a 2007 Accord - but the 4 cylinder, with manual transmission. To be honest - I've always found the engagement point in 1st gear to be highly annoying. It's just not consistent and that's with a new clutch as well. When the time comes, I'll likely switch back to an auto.transmission. Aside from that - it's been reasonably reliable car - ignition switch/starter/lots of suspension components (shocks/ctrl.arms etc.).
The main problem with the early 7th gen is transmission issues. Mainly overheating. The best thing for these transmissions is to add a transmission Cooler.
I think that the 4 cylinder transmissions are great. Mine has 271k on it and still shifts perfectly. Changed the transmission fluid and filter and that made it a little better. VTEC Solenoid leaks are a problem on these. Other than that, car has been great. I replaced the front engine mount, blower motor, condenser, and that is about it.
@@dylon999 I took it to someone who works on ac systems because the air was blowing hot. They told me that it needed a condenser, which it did because the fins were damaged.
@@dylon999 Before you spend tons of money on a condenser, go buy a $5 refrigerant can and put it in .....more than likely you ran dry of refrigerant if the car is old enough....you can also make sure the clutch on the condenser turns on when you push the AC button so the 12 volt power would go to the condensor...
I'm still driving my 7th generation Accord 4 cylinder as well. Although, it's a manual transmission. Which frankly is annoying to drive. Since I'm frugal I've been bearing with it - but there's basically never been much feel to engaging the car in 1st gear. It's likely my last manual transmission I'll bother with lol.
I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with my lil 2003 Accord,it has 175k Ib did replace the alternator, the the left sd front axle, Power steering pump, and master cylinder! I've got new struts to go in ,Brakes and rotors, But I love it
Had a 2006 Accord EX V6 coupe, bought it used with 54K miles in 2010 from a Dealership in Santa Clara, CA. Was looking for a comfortable daily driver with decent power, comfort and features. I replaced the battery right when I purchased the car since it was leaking. Otherwise the car was pretty trouble free until I traded it in for Lexus in 2013. The only major issue was a timing chain cover rattling (fixed) and a leaking power steering pump (fixed). Took this car all over California and Oregon. Kept the car pretty clean. Lexus salesman called me a week later telling me a buyer fell in love with it and bought it.
My 05 V6 EXL has been outstanding. Only unexpected repairs have been replace starter, motor mounts and some control arm bushings. Get your transmission flushed, cooling system flushed, power steering flushed, timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment around 100k miles. When you replace the easy to do map light switches, replace all interior lights (roof front and back seat, front doors) with LED. HUGE improvement! Also koni sport struts, akebono pads and new rotors and rubber to stainless Goodridge brake lines from Tire Rack. Transforms the way it stops and feels!
2003 honda accord here with 266k miles on it. Pretty good car for $500, and its almost perfect. Got a couple issues, and it has torn up interior everywhere, but its slowly coming together after owning it for about a year. Only thing i had problems with really is the battery and interior being trashed
the best purchase I ever made for son, I bought 03 honda accord 2 door coupe with 119,000 miles 5 yrs ago for my son that car is still running running like champ!
The only one of the five problems found in the 2004 Honda Accord 6 cylinder 24 valve LS in my driveway was the motor mounts (repeatedly). Additionally, both front axles went out on separate occasions. The entire exhaust system from the cylinder head to the tailpipe, including both cat converters, had to be replaced according to Rosenthal Fairfax Honda. (Dealer foul play is suspected but unproven. That particular Rosenthal dealership has been sold.) ABS system had to be replaced. Radiator had to be replaced. Timing belt was replaced at about 135K. Control arms were replaced. AC system was replaced. A 20 volt port for phone charging and CD player were replaced and repaired, respectively. Some of the lights on the player are out but will have to stay that way. The front headlight covers were too cloudy to pass inspection and were replaced. It has 246K on it and is the best car I’ve owned (for exactly 20 years since new). Now you fine RUclips commentators, would you like a breakdown of entire defensive unit of the 1974 Cincinnati Bengals? How about the ‘59 Bears? The many U.S. cars I’ve purchased (especially Fords and Mercurys) were far worse.
Great advice..thank u..I've had my 05 accord fer 14 months and I repaired 4 of the 5 things ...except door locks...whenever I buy a used car, I always replace head and tail lights..and the bulbs..the car looks a lot better ...the 2nd thing I always replace is the radiator....
I have a 2003 accord lx 5 speed, have not encountered any of these issue. This car has 385000 miles on it. This is the best car I have ever owned and will probably last longer than any of the new crap honda is selling today.
I had a 2005 Accord with a 2.4L auto, bought new and sold it at 219K miles. Got average 39 mpg going on highway at 70 mph in summer, 34 mpg in winter. Couple times got 41 mpg, probably driving behind a few pickup trucks with less air resistance. Never had any issues mentioned in the video. The AC compressor and radio went out. A few people I know had the same AC issue. Rust near the wheel well tends to the problem on these Accords too.
You can NEVER get 39 mpg average on the highway....or 34 in winter, period. How do I know? I have the same car and calibrated the mileage MANY TIMES....UNLESS, you have a hybrid...
I’ve own a 04’ model for six years and the only problem I had was the axel braking, wind shield wiper motor blown and early rotor ware. And when I sold it the car had 233,000 miles on it.
I have a 2004 EX 2.4 with 200,000 miles on it now from when I bought it at 124k. Engine feels indestructible. So far I've only had the ignition switch go bad around 150k, knock sensor need to be replaced twice, and needed to replace starter and alternator. I do a lot of city driving so that may have contributed to the premature wear. Thankfully this car is very DIY so repairs haven't been expensive. Oil burns about a quart every 5,000 miles which is nothing. Only other thing is the front leather seats are absolutely shredded and brittle, probably from the California heat but they seem less durable than other leather seats from that era. Transmission fluid drain and fill 3x along with new transmission filter brought quick shifts back. Incredibly reliable overall, never hesitate taking it on long road trips.
1.Power Steering Pump 2.Traction Control System 3.ABS sensors 4.Power Windows 5.Trunk Latch These are the top 5 issues seen over my 15 years as an ASE mechanic
365K on my 03 V6. Got my transmission rebuild once by AMMCO 4 years ago. Timing kit and water pump replacement 2 years ago. Basic maintenance with slight oil leak (main seal). Great car and it's my daily!
My 03 has 250k on it. Just needs some o-rings replaced and a new power steering pump, other than that this bad boy is so good it will become my beater when I can afford to replace it as my daily driver. It's so reliable and so much simpler than newer cars I'd rather cannibalize parts to keep it running than scrap/sell it. Edit: I forgot that the AC died a few years ago but I haven't had AC for so long I don't even think about it.
I had following problems with my 2004 Accord. 1. replace transmissions twice already. 2. power steering noise and fluid leak, replace power steering pump 3. door latch actuator failure 4. CD changer failed 5. driver side vent stuck on cold air. However, I never had an issue with the engine. Overall a great car.
My wife’s has 270k and still runs strong. It burns oil but I just refill it. She upgraded to a 2020 accord. Only major thing was the ignition switch. The gear selector handle fell apart but you can replace that cheap.
Just picked up an 04 2.4 5AT off a buddy that thought the engine was needing replacement along with the transmission. I tuned her up and fixed a couple leaks and realized my $1100 purchase was the best thousand I’ve ever spent. 2,000 miles in and she runs great and the ac is still freezing cold.
Had a 2002 honda accord. Bought it at 169,000. Just sold it at 233,000 and was still running. Couldn't pass inspection and didn't want to put the money into it, but best car I ever owned. Had it for 9 years.
2003 V6 275,000 miles running strong although I've had to replace the starter and ignition module. Regular oil changes and 91 octane fuel is what I've been using since new👌
Three and a half years ago, I bought my 2006 LX Accord , 5 speed manual, 2.4L engine from a girl who didn't know anything about cars. Consequently, when the manual said, "Do this at so many miles..." she did it. Now in 2023 it has >264k miles on it. Gets 38.5 mpg freeway / 35 mpg city. She gave me maintenance records that go back to when it was originally delivered to the dealer. The car doesn't leak a drop of anything. The garage floor and engine are bone dry. The only thing it burns is fuel. Since the beginning she changed the oil every 3,000 miles. I continue to do the same but also include tire rotation in that routine. The only repair was replacement of the clutch Master Cylinder about a year ago. The car runs like a dream. I also replaced the the brakes, front and rear but that is maintenance, e.g., Tires, Wipers, etc. not a repair because of component failure. "Top 5 Problems Honda Accord Sedan 7th Generation 2003-07"? Definitely not this one. However my My '99 Accord had the first three. The only problem on this one is the beginning of rust on the dog legs of the rear wheel wells.
170k here on a 2.4/auto we’ve had since 9k…this is all news to me! My trans is leaking but not enough to see any drips and shifts beautifully. We seem to have an A/C problem every August. The radio crapped out years ago. Other than that it’s pretty routine stuff.
As I been driving my for so long 266xxx miles it still running like a champ. As long you keep your updated maintenance you will be fine. All I change on my car is all the basic stuff, nothing major. Power steering pump it is one but it's only in one time. Check your spark plug if your car is 200,000 mileage but I suggest you change it. Alternator, starter, battery, and your ground need to be change it to.
2005 2.4 liter 215k miles so far Things I've replaced: alternator radiator starter map light switches cruise control switch power steering pump o-ring The engine and transmission have been trouble free, though.
Don’t forget the stereos frying. I recently purchased a 2.4L i4 manual with 330k for my son. Aside from the stereo issue, everything I’ve repaired has pretty much been regular wear and tear items. Front struts, axles, tie rods, sway bar linkages control arms, rotors, belt, some hoses. Drives like a dream now and easily passed smog. BTW I purchased the suspension and steering parts from 1A and they work great. NAPA/Autozone for the axles and rotors.
I love my 2006 Accord V6. Only major issue I've had is a steering rack that keeps changing from loose to tight, yeah, I know it's weird but my steering goes from having slack to being tight. Probably a pinion support bearing in the rack. Other than minor issues, it's been great and still looks brand new!
Hey man I have same issue. V6 2007. I replaced the pump, fluid and still have the same symptoms. I noticed a leak where the low rubber low pressure line connects to metal lines. The clamp gets rusted. Air gets in through there. Good luck fellow Honda brother
@@alexandercahoulan6583 I wish I'd held out looking around for V6 at the time I bought my 2007 4 cylinder. Although it has a manual transmission - the 1st gear engagement point is never consistent (even with a newer clutch). It's annoying - but hey I'm frugal and still going to hold onto it, especially after recently replacing the transmission.
bought an 07' recently with 88k on it. leather interior. loving this vehicle. will replace those rims with RTX 'force'. it's gonna look sweet with those and the 55's.
Drove this car, the stick version, for 12 yrs, only 112k km, Only 1 issue, the sensor under the engine that cut off power. That fail part was replaced for $400 and never had any other issue. Was on all season stock tires for the entire time and when I traded in the car the guy said, ur tire is so bald. ROFL. Missed this car 😍
I had a 2005 Accord EX 4 cylinder, other than normal wear and tear, at 180k miles it never left me stranded. I did replace all the engine mounts, by myself at 180k. Never took it to the dealer for any repairs as I see stealerships causing more problems.
I love the car because it is so easy to work on....you should treat your car to fuel injection cleaner and you would notice the improved accelerations smoother shifting....
I had a 2006 Accord EXL, bought new, followed all maintenance. Used synthetic oil, changed every 6000 miles. Changed transmission oil every 30,000 miles, changed transmission filter at 100,000 miles. Had 2 problems before I sold it at 170,000 miles. 1.) besides drivers window none of the other Power Windows would work, simple wiring bypass found on You Tube, fixed problem with $5 worth of parts & 5 minutes of work. 2.) at 165,000 miles had to replace starter. Bought new starter for $85 and paid $100 to have it installed. Never had any of the problems stated in this video. Thanks Jim PS.....car went to about 200,000 miles before being totaled on black ice. Rear brakes didn’t last long (about 45,000 miles on the average), but fronts did average about 80,000 miles +.
I've got a 2004 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder 5 speed manual with 232k miles on it. Aside from routine maintenance like oil changes, the only problems I've ever had to fix on that car have been the window motors, the stock radio, the idle air control, and the throttle body. The window motors are poorly made and crap out after a few years, and I've had to replace all four at least once. The stock radio crapped out in 2017, but I got a kenwood radio and installed it under the old one, where the CD storage compartment was. The idle air control and throttle body had to be replaced recently. I had an issue where the car would rev up and down at idle, and would cause rough shifting. My air intake boot had a crack in it I missed, and it caused some contaminants to get into the idle air control and throttle body. I replaced the boot and air filter, and used throttle body cleaner to spray the IAC and throttle body, hoping maybe that would do the trick, and I could reset the idle. It got rid of the engine code associated for my trip home, but I let her cool off for a few minutes and cranked her again, and it started happening again. Took it to the shop because I can't work on my car at my apartment. The local shop fixed it, and it runs like a beauty again. Definitely a reliable car in my opinion. I plan to keep her for a number of reasons, some being sentimental, but the engine in that car is actually a darn good one. With a little TLC, and a little money, you can push some serious hp in that bad boy for what it is.
I only had 3 gripes with my 2007 Honda Accord. 1. Radio would be playing and an intermittent god-awful noise would blow your eardrums out. 2. Trunk lid was so light that a decent wind would blow the trunk lid that was open, and slam it shut. If your head is in the way, it could possibly kill you. 3. Opening the front doors on a driveway that slants upward is a pain. You need to stick out a leg to prop it open to keep the door from shutting before you get out of the car.
I have a 2007 V6 manual transmission that I bought used 4 years ago, and currently has 175k miles. Biggest repairs were clutch and flywheel, and also had to replace radiator twice in 12 months (first replacement part was defective). Other than that my only other issues have been front sway bar links, serpentine belt and tensioner pulleys, power steering hose gaskets (reservoir to pump), and an air conditioning compressor relay. My scan tool also shows a P1298 code, but no check engine light, so haven’t bothered trying to fix it.
That's allot of money you had to put into the car within 4 years. I have a 2007 Accord (4 cylinder, manual trans.). The 1st gear engagement point has always been terrible (even after a new clutch kit & master cylinder change). But whatever - when the time comes, I'll pay more attention to the engagement feel of a clutch - or just get an automatic lol
I cleaned out the ignition contact components in the switch about three years ago after it was intermittently failing to contact. Did it with a little emery cloth and replaced the grease with a little dielectic grease. It has not been any trouble since. Virtually no cost at all. But new ones are also cheap on line if you have the time to wait for delivery. Relatively easy job - under about hour of time . I would have replaced it if the car was not needed the same day.
What I've found common among 2dr v6 options (auto and manual) 1. Lower ball joints !! 2. Rack and pinion/ PS pump 3. Passenger window motor 4. Motor mounts 5. 3rd gear grind (improperly maintained 6speed manual) 6. Bad auto transmission 7. Clear coat peel 8. Oil consumption (not as bad as 2.4L) 9. Rear muffler rot (top of muffler) Thats my personal list, can't believe lower ball joints weren't on the list! #kachow
Reply to your problems with 2004 Honda Accord (bought in 2003), which is also 20 years old, and I bought it brand-new....and still own it: 1. no 2. no 3. no 4. no 5. no 6. no 7. no 8. NEVER 9. no and I think the mufffler is stainless steel; 10. driver door lock is worn if you if you open with key daily and not using a remote opener.. Honda OEM brake rotors and pads lasted 10 years for me with average driving and not abusing...
A few more common issues on these: Torn lower compliance bushings on the front control arms, squeaking/clicking clutch master cylinders, loose spark plugs on V6s, 3rd gear popping out on V6 manuals (easily solved with GM synchromesh fluid).
Squeaking/clicking clutch master cylinders - for sure. I have a 2007 Accord (4 cylinder/manual trans.) and that's always been the case. Even after I recently had a clutch kid and new master cylinder put in. It's highly annoying and even my mechanic doesn't know what I'm talking about. Or he's choosing to ignore it, or not know how to address the issue. There's some areas you can spray underneath - but apparently temporary.
Now I drive 2006 accord 2.4 168,000km in south korea! 100k : water pump and belt change 120k : engine mount change (mission not bad) 130k : front shock change (cala is so trash... difficult to move parts) No more big change!
They missed the number 1 failure: the radio. I bought for my kids a 2004, 2005, and 2006 (three boys). Cars are great, but all three needed new radios.
@@JoseRodriguez-fi9ux This generation had a 3rd gear popping out issue with the J series manual. And don't bump start in reverse or you may chip the differential gears.
I have an '04 Accord with the 2.4 and auto trans with 230k and counting. I've had the car since 102k and the car's been mechanically reliable with the only things I've had to replace were the O2 sensors and other typical wear items like tie rods, brakes, tires, etc. I also replaced a fuse in hopes of fixing the head unit (and to resolve an issue with the car randomly losing power and coming on again) but the headunit still doesn't work and pops from time to time. Other than that, this generation is a good A to B car.
I have 274,587 on mine the only problem that you mentioned that I had was the ignition switch. I changed the catalytic converter and a couple sensors that was big money. I can't believe I have the original alternator. Great boring car but I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
Im going through transmission problem with my honda accord 04 lx right now. Other than that though it is by far one of the best cars out there. Wish honda took better time designing the trans on this car cause it is damn near flawless imo💯
My 2007 has 237000 miles..Power steering pump wines , motor mount gone , engine light has a mind of its own and she leaks a little oil...Going to keep driving her until she can't go no more😁😁😁😁😁😁
Also if it’s the transmission mount that’s going to be the driver side mount, if that one is bad, it will jolt to going into reverse making you fear it’s the transmission going out. If the vehicle still goes through gears fine, it’s just that one gear, its most likely the motor mount. It happens to me on my 05 Honda accord and happened to me on my 05 Ford Focus. Replaced the mount, no more jolt
My buddy offered his for sale to me not too long ago, I couldn't say no. We had 5 years of palin' around in this thing and it never had a major issue, just routine maintenance.
I bought an '04 EX sedan new. Great car for a while, good mileage, comfortable on trips. I maintained it faithfully. At around 90k radio and cd went out and even though I got addressed would intermittently flake. Then transmission died at 107k after 7 yr. Had 100k warranty so I was told its on me. Since the car was valued the same as a new transmission and I'd never fixed the large, now rusting dent a hit and run gave me, I traded in for a RAV4. I was disappointed, I had an Olds Calais (110k) and a Nissan 200SX (118k) which both lasted longer. My friend had an '03 Accord for 13 or 14 years, got nearly 300k miles though he said it was falling apart the last 70k.
I have mine with 200k 2.4 auto. only regular issues. starter @150k driver axle and 02 sensor @165k alternator and knock sensor @190k mine has been really reliable. I love my car. I also do 5k oil change interval with full synthetic
I have an 03 accord. 2.4L. It makes a whining noise while on park, or neutral. It drives perfectly with absolutely no shifting issues. It shifts like new. Alternator is brand new, and so is the tensioner. New belt. The power steering whines a little bit when you turn, but not sure it is the power steering pump. It goes away while on drive and it does make a whining noise while driving away.
Lower ball joints are also on top of the list for failure. Replace with good quality ball joints and save yourself a headache. 555 or OEM ball joints are the way to go.
I have an ‘04 2.4L auto with 267,000 mi. Replaced the transmission, engine, trunk lid, 4 sets of axles, 16 batteries, all 4 wheels, front doors and the alarm system. Been the best car ever! Hahaha..just kidding. I replaced the ignition, door handle and starter. Air just went out, but this things acts like it will run forever! Wish it were a 5 spd!
i am blown away that they didnt include the intake tube that goes to the throttle body as a common point of failure on these, those damn things are half the reason so many people install ram air on their accords! (those tubes always tear on the bottom from being lifted to replace the filter. if you have one of these cars and havnt checked there DEFINITLY DO it could save the longevity of your k24)

Anyone ever have a battery problem? That's not the alternator
This generation honda accord also had a tsb about the vibration at stops involving a weight for the bumper and some washers for the radiator. But I haven't been able to find the kit online only the weight. If anyone knows the part numbers please list it on this thread. I believe that it would help a lot of people.
I have 400k miles on mines she still running good and pass emissions last month 💪🏿
The 7th gens are quite rugged and stubborn in a good way.

Mine is at 300k and passed p.a inspection. Luckily I live in ohio and dont have to get an inspection here. I'm sure it would still pass

+Bliitchee • Thanks for the feedback!
Good point, that is a definite top 5 issue with this car.
Fr! Power stearing and breaks wowww
The awesome 7th gen.

180k on my '06. Fixed the door actuator, replaced the starter and oil pressure sensor. Outstanding car.
Have you changed the timing belt?
@@christianmendez2627 FYI there is no timing belt on the i4 model, only the V6.
Word of advice don't chase motor mount vibration by replacing just one at a time, replace them all at once so that the older mounts won't cause your newer mount to fail prematurely.
How much it cost.? Is it a dyi project?
@@maolo76 you probably could get them from eBay for a little over 100 dollars and you could do it yourself if you have the tools
@@keithbrown2425 I’ve read on many forum pages that aftermarket mounts don’t work and cause more vibration (or go out early like at 30K). On those pages they only suggest OEM mounts
Also change the transmission mounts
I’ve made that mistake sadly ….
They didn’t mention: power steering pump (which leaks, makes noises and predominantly sucks) and radio as well as front bumper or fenders just coming apart over time. Just FYI I have v6 7th gen and I still love it.
can confirm.
same here
My power steering in my 03 is smooth as silk in warm weather but non existent in the cold. I bought the replacement O-rings and the correct amount of genuine Honda power steering fluid. I’m hoping that it solves not only my issue, but the horrid whine while turning. Nevertheless my 03 LX had 289k miles and runs like new.
Have three, 7th Gen , yup door look are mad crazy!
The radio should have been here if you don’t have two stereos your battery is going to drain.
Have you replaced the timing belt and water pump? I have the same engine on a 2004 Saturn Vue, it has 87k miles.
@@jaimeramirez-perez7198 I have a coupe v6 manual in graphite pearl lmao

@@iggi70 Timing belt should be replaced by 80k but most people will put it off till 120k when it starts giving them real issues. I recently bought an '03 V6 Accord and the first thing I'm replacing is timing belt, water pump, and power steering pump.
Just hit 240k on my V6 07 Accord and still runs smooth. Very reliable 👍🏽
Original transmission?
I have huge respect for this guy.
He talks so calmly and politely.
Such a soothing voice.

+Tauseef Ahmed Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
What made you change the condenser? My ac blows but no cold air, was that your problem?
I've got new struts to go in ,Brakes and rotors, But I love it
My 06 has 221k no issues at all. Just oil changes and buying correct genuine Honda parts! Also babying it not driving like a maniac helps.
You showed right baby girl
My kids 2004 Accord EX V6 doesn't have any of those issues.
It's a very reliable car.
I'm picking a 05 LX with 34k miles tomorrow for 7500. Carfax and maintenance record checks out good.
Great deal especially in the current state of the market.
06 Accord EX-L coupe here with 99k. Never had any of these issues occur thankfully. The cars a champ!
07 Accord 2.4 115,000 miles. Replaced starter, power steering pump, struts, ball joints and control arms so far.
I have a 2006 Honda Accord V-6, and I’ve had to replace the motor mounts. Other than that, the car is still perfect. 254K miles and going strong.

Honestly thought my rotors were warped when my car vibrated like crazy at idle this was very informative.
Rust near the wheel well tends to the problem on these Accords too.
before your ac went out did you feel the car more sluggish when it was on??
How do you get 39 mpg?? I have a 03 Accord 2.4 auto with 187k miles and I can barely break 31 with all highway driving at 75 mph
@@davidbelmares715 same here but got bigger tires and rims for it my wife drives it hard on stop and goes etc. Like to get 22 mpg
@@davidbelmares715 because they can't do this.
Axle breaking? Yikes - that's serious. I hope you were ok.
I had an 04 and now have the v6 07. Love this gen.
Hows the 07 v6 ? Thinking of getting one ?

365K on my 03 V6. Got my transmission rebuild once by AMMCO 4 years ago. Timing kit and water pump replacement 2 years ago. Basic maintenance with slight oil leak (main seal). Great car and it's my daily!
I have a 04 accord ex coupe 290,875 miles check engine light on for 02 sensor other then that still going strong! These are really good cars
2. power steering noise and fluid leak, replace power steering pump
3. door latch actuator failure
4. CD changer failed
5. driver side vent stuck on cold air.

06 Accord 6-speed V6 Manual 278K
2003 V6 275,000 miles running strong although I've had to replace the starter and ignition module. Regular oil changes and 91 octane fuel is what I've been using since new👌
Is it the original transmission ?
2005 2.4 liter 215k miles so far
Things I've replaced:
alternator
radiator
starter
map light switches
cruise control switch
power steering pump o-ring
The engine and transmission have been trouble free, though.

Mines got 193,000 miles and still ride like a dream with no problems

You need to stick out a leg to prop it open to keep the door from shutting before you get out of the car.
the 3rd issue.. happens to me constantly. any slight incline will force it shut unless i ensure i open my door 100% of the way
I have a 2007 V6 manual transmission that I bought used 4 years ago, and currently has 175k miles.
Have you changed the timing belt?
Someone must have been hard on that clutch. I have the 06-v6-6 speed and have 170k and she still shifts like a dream.
Have an 07 with 252k and the original clutch
I cleaned out the ignition contact components in the switch about three years ago after it was intermittently failing to contact. Did it with a little emery cloth and replaced the grease with a little dielectic grease. It has not been any trouble since. Virtually no cost at all. But new ones are also cheap on line if you have the time to wait for delivery. Relatively easy job - under about hour of time . I would have replaced it if the car was not needed the same day.
I have an 04 2.4L auto and I’ve put a new transmission and engine in it and it’s got 150k miles on it
What I've found common among 2dr v6 options (auto and manual)
1. Lower ball joints !!
2. Rack and pinion/ PS pump
3. Passenger window motor
4. Motor mounts
5. 3rd gear grind (improperly maintained 6speed manual)
6. Bad auto transmission
7. Clear coat peel
8. Oil consumption (not as bad as 2.4L)
9. Rear muffler rot (top of muffler)
Thats my personal list, can't believe lower ball joints weren't on the list! #kachow

160k 2007 accord, replaced starter-replaced ignition and oil disillusion a problem. Power steering is going out. Fun stuff
Can't believe he didn't mention the front lower ball joints. When they fail these cars go kachow.
A few more common issues on these:
Torn lower compliance bushings on the front control arms, squeaking/clicking clutch master cylinders, loose spark plugs on V6s, 3rd gear popping out on V6 manuals (easily solved with GM synchromesh fluid).
Don't forget the window relay issues
Squeaking/clicking clutch master cylinders - for sure.
I have a 2007 Accord (4 cylinder/manual trans.) and that's always been the case. Even after I recently had a clutch kid and new master cylinder put in. It's highly annoying and even my mechanic doesn't know what I'm talking about. Or he's choosing to ignore it, or not know how to address the issue. There's some areas you can spray underneath - but apparently temporary.
Now I drive 2006 accord 2.4 168,000km in south korea!
100k : water pump and belt change
120k : engine mount change (mission not bad)
130k : front shock change (cala is so trash... difficult to move parts)
No more big change!

Other than that, this generation is a good A to B car.
got one since 2006 bought new, manual. 100k on the clock, ZERO issues so far
I have 274,587 on mine the only problem that you mentioned that I had was the ignition switch. I changed the catalytic converter and a couple sensors that was big money. I can't believe I have the original alternator. Great boring car but I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
Just got one last week so dis video is for me ❤ I'm noticing the transmission fluid display on the dashboard
Im going through transmission problem with my honda accord 04 lx right now. Other than that though it is by far one of the best cars out there. Wish honda took better time designing the trans on this car cause it is damn near flawless imo💯
The engine mounts are planned obsolescence, but other that.. solid car

My 2007 has 237000 miles..Power steering pump wines , motor mount gone , engine light has a mind of its own and she leaks a little oil...Going to keep driving her until she can't go no more😁😁😁😁😁😁
I have a 2004 accord and it has 160 k on it and runs beautifully. i am going to pus it over 1mill.
225k miles on my 06’ and runs good with no big problems

Replacing a lot of parts on my 04 accord with 269,000 miles on it, the engine mounts are the only one of these I've ran into though
I have mine with 200k 2.4 auto. only regular issues.
starter @150k
driver axle and 02 sensor @165k
alternator and knock sensor @190k
mine has been really reliable. I love my car. I also do 5k oil change interval with full synthetic
Power steering pump and premature ball joints wear should be top of your list.
I have 2 of them.. great cars.. 1st one is an 03 EX L V6 with 233k and the other one is a 06 LX 4cly with 111k on it .. both bought new
My 2007 has only 90K on it. Best car I ever had.
Ive always had 90s hondas and the only issues I had was because of purchasing cheap parts. Since I've switched to Denso parts I've had zero issues.
It goes away while on drive and it does make a whining noise while driving away.
the whine could be a be down to low power steering fluid so check that and check for any fluid leaks.
I have an 07 SE and it drives and functions perfect! I call bs!
omg you guys are right on, because I own a accord and have these problems
You forgot the idle air control valve issues this generation of honda are notorious for.

246,900 miles and never had any of these issues
I still like these especially the coupe
i am blown away that they didnt include the intake tube that goes to the throttle body as a common point of failure on these, those damn things are half the reason so many people install ram air on their accords! (those tubes always tear on the bottom from being lifted to replace the filter. if you have one of these cars and havnt checked there DEFINITLY DO it could save the longevity of your k24)
