LOL… I know, right?! In Alanda’s defense though, in some weird way (And, also, just in my opinion.) Maya was kinda giving “Maya Hawke Look-A-Like” more so than “actual Maya Hawke”. I know that that really doesn’t make any goddamn sense but I can totally see why she didn’t think that it was actually her. (And Alanda is *much* smarter and *much* more observant than I am!)

The gore in this series had me absolutely gagged I was NOT expecting Kates death to be that graphic.

Alanda's "Wait, bitches die on the regular in Shadyside?" made me laugh because I remember reading the Fear Street books in the 90s and wondering how they even had teenagers left in Shadyside given how many murders there are in each book.
1994 is the most action packed
1978 is the most violent
1666 is the darkest one
1666 always makes me sad for some reason

Yes Alanda! This trilogy was such a nice surprise, much better than I thought it would be. Netflix has a lot of misses but this one hit ☝🏽
They need to do more things like this! The idea of a pre planned film trilogy is super cool. Less Kissing Booth sequels more interesting stuff like this.

I actually loved how they made us wait a week for the next chapter. The anticipation build up was great for a change with Netflix.
@@CandieP yeah binging is fine for media that's already out like old shows but for new stuff the waiting a week thing is best because it lets us theorize and talk about it with friends building anticipation for the next episode.
Usually I'm blown away at Alanda's ability to recognize basically every background actor who has ever starred in any movie or TV show, so I felt like a boss for recognizing Maya Hawke right away and picking Darrell Britt Gibson out of a quick background shot early on. I HAVE heard of some actors, dangit!

Funny thing is Kate’s death isn’t even possible. I worked at a bakery for a few years and worked with bread slicers. No way a bread slicer can cut through a skull, not when half of them have problems cutting through bread lol

@@whimsical_bitches_club yeah, i've seen it too. And also a silicon doll that people used on impact experiments, with like a hard skull replica inside the head. Both the watermelon and the doll destroyed the bread slicer, but still i reckon Kate would die anyway because she'll be scalped real bad and i think that's worse and uglier than getting sliced through.

I really enjoyed this trilogy the 2nd is the best for me cause who doesn’t love the slasher at a camp formula. Oof I remember thinking I always forget their names but the bread slice victim and the one who got the axe to the head had plot armor but I was shocked when they died💀. As a scream fan I knew the opening to this movie was resembling the opening for scream which I absolutely loved obviously not as good but still.
same. I thought they all had plot armor like oh so no one's gonna die that when they died so gruesomely I was shook and shocked like a bread slicer!!!
@@javk8673 I have never once seen a bread slicer so it was a unique and gory kill like holy shit. I gasped when she died cause when she got stabbed I was like “oh she’ll live” and he was pushing her to the bread slicer and I was like “someone’s gonna save her” nope carnage candy. 😎

This trilogy was part of Books by R.L Stine. Fear Street was a Series like Goosebumps the only difference is people could actually end up dead in fear street. I remember reading this book in the library and being SURE that someone would save Kate & I was shocked when they killed her off.

@@gables2366 none of the books have any of the actual characters from the movies in them im pretty sure! the movies are unique characters and plot lines but the settings and witch thing is pretty much based off of the books.
The Fear Street books were popular in Germany aswell! I read a couple of them when I was teen.
This was from the Fear Street Saga : The Betrayal, The Secret, and The Burning Netflix just changed the storyline a little but kept some of the names. Like the Goode and Sara Fier (Fear) family. 2 families that were rivals but one was cursed. The books were better of course, but it was nice to see Netflix do their little twist with it
this trilogy was surprisingly good. Honestly did not expect to like it as much as I did
I loved this trilogy of movies. I loved the more adult stuff by R.L. Stine when I was a kid b/c I had already been reading adult horror at that point, so it mainly made me laugh b/c it was definitely a kiddie version compared to the Stephen King stuff I was already reading. And as always, Alanda is such an adorable ball of light and love seeing her enjoy horror movies more and more.

I read all the Fear Street books when I was a kid (20 years later and I still have my favorites in paperback) so this trilogy was a fun watch, even if the characters and story are different from the books. It was great to see Shadyside on the big screen. The second movie is my favorite hands down, mostly for Sadie Sink but also because of the slasher movie vibes. I hope Netflix continues to expand on the Fear Street series, and maybe even covers some of the classic characters and books.
This is such a good trilogy Alanda! This came out last summer and I’ve been meaning to re-watch! I used to love reading R.L. Stine’s Goodebumps and Fear Street Books as a child so to see it made as a series is amazing!

If you want a queer spooky movie I think you’ll really like The Lost Boys (1987) it’s super queer coded and was directed by Joel Schumacher. It’s one of my all time favorites and verrrryyyy campy!!

This series put me back in the 80s/90s with the old school horror feel. I read the books this was based off of back when I was a teen and this was such a nice adaptation. Loved your reaction and Maya Hawke is always a treat in any show.

I didn’t know anything about these movies when I started and I was surprised by how gory they are! My favorite detail about this one is how the guy wielding the axe makes it look like it has real weight behind it, and that’s pretty fucking scary.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. It's very well constructed, the soundtrack slaps (wait till 78!), and the cast does great. Part 2 is my fave!

Not even the main characters. I used to get so scared and tell myself I was done with them but I always came back. R.L. Stine had us 90’s kids in a chokehold 😂

Fear Street was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting so much slash and gore from an RL Stine franchise. Kate's epic death though was an homage to the grocery store slasher flick "Intruder". Great reaction Alanda, happy pride, and happy Juneteenth y'all

One of my favorite queer movies is actually kind of a horror flick. It's called The Perfection and last I checked it's still on Netflix. Also, I know it's not a movie but if you wanted to watch Heartstopper, I don't think anyone would have any objections~

The Fear Street Trilogy is fantastic. Very much in the same vein as American Horror Story. And the best part is they get better as they progress.

I saw that you were reacting to this and decided to binge watch all 3 movies today! This was a REALLY good series and honestly, they got better and better with each movie. RL Stine and Goosebumps were really nostalgic to me so watching one of his stories now and executed so well was thrilling. Really good writing, a good mystery, and really good young actors. Part of me wants more, whether it be a sequel or another self-contained anthology, but I also think it is perfect the way it is. I hope you watch them back to back for Pride, they're nice enough to give us little recaps but I think you might enjoy it more with all of it fresh in your mind!
Happy Pride and Happy Early Birthday! If you're looking for other horror/thrillers to watch, Malignant is a TRIP that I think you'd enjoy. And I wouldn't be surprised of these were maybe the one horror movies you watched before you started your channel, but you'd love both of Jordan Peele's movies if you haven't. And if you want a thriller, I'd recommend Midnight. It came out last year, it's a Korean movie, and it was such a crazy fun time! And Pride recommendations! To Wong Foo is a classic if you haven't seen it, and I'd also recommend Tangerine and Saving Face, as well as Anything's Possible which comes out in a few months!

i can’t believe it’s been almost a year since this trilogy came out 😭 i made my sister, friend and mother watch it because i loved them so much. these movies were really what got me more into horror and being able to now rewatch it i can definitely see so many parallels to other horror movies in this one. i can’t wait to see your reaction to the other parts!!! i’m also pretty sure it’s just been confirmed that’s they’re making more movies so i’m excited for those.
