its rare that you get to enjoy a movie where you absolutely love every actors performance/and the characters... even if they are the bad guy.... You want the bad guy to lose, but you love every minute they are chewing up the scenery.... This is hands down my favorite movie of the year.

If I’m not mistaken she made a statement about the bombings in Palestine. Spyglass, the company behind the past couple of Scream movies, got notice of her statement and therefore fired her from the upcoming Scream movie. The reason why Alanda brought it up her is because Melissa is the main actress in the movie she’s reacting to.

Fun fact, the father at the end, Lazar, is actually Dracula!!! This movie is a remake/ reimagining of an old classic Universal Monster movie called ‘Draculas Daughter’ from 1936 and is meant to continue Universals tread of reimagining their classic monsters for modern times, like with The Invisible Man from a couple years ago and the upcoming Wolf Man movie!! Also, so happy to see a video again girl, you always manage to make me smile and laugh🥰🥰💙💙💙
You could say that Abigail is the return of the Universal Monsters. Since the Mummy failed to revive the franchise as a shared universe which ironically the name of the failed share universe Dark Universe is the name of the upcoming area in Epic Universe

I'm not here to request a movie or anything, but just to tell you that I hope you're doing well (we all are I'm sure) and to take your/your loved ones' mental and physical health first. Your reactions are so uplifting and joyful I will keep rewatching until you feel ready to react again. If you let the community know something's happened where you just want a change, we will all support you. Life is all about hope and change and you've given us so much. I appreciate you indirectly mentioning the atrocities and devastation of Palestine through what the industry did to Melissa. I'm not a huge fan of the franchise outside of the main trilogy but I truly admire and respect Melissa for using her platform to speak in solidarity and the same for Jenna for supporting her cast mate.

If you’re on a vampire vibe right now, I’d super recommend the new Interview With The Vampire (2022). The whole show is great, but the pilot is fantastic on its own, beautifully written vampire genre fiction set in New Orleans in the 1900s

When the world needed her most, she returned! The Queen is back with an hour long video, truly a Pride month miracle. So happy you loved this one. I'm of the mindset that most people look better covered in blood anyway but there's something about Melissa Barrera especially that's just SO gorgeous. Her and Samara Weaving, Radio Silence has just cracked that very specific code haha.
If you're looking for another great horror comedy, I think you would love Lisa Frankenstein, which also came out this year. Same screenwriter as Jennifer's Body and stars the always delightful Kathryn Newton (between this reaction and Freaky I know you would love her in LF).
Hot damn do I love this movie! Everything about it is RIGHT up my alley! Nothing quite does it for me like a good horror-comedy where the horror is very real and the comedy is hella consistent throughout _and_ very much so my sense of humor.
Beyond all of that, as well as all of the other fab things that this film has going for it, I gotta give it up to all of the down right INCREDIBLE performances in it!
First and foremost, Alisha Weir (Abigail) absolutely carries this movie and does it with a truly unmatched amount of ease! Especially for such a young little lady!
I also LOVE seeing Kathryn Newton (Sammy) in films like this! She’s a great actress with some genuinely fantastic coming timing. As is the case for Kevin Durand (Peter)! He was such a delight here!
Also, Dan Stevens (Frank) made for an EXCELLENT protagonist! Especially considering all of the comedy that he was able to inject into the character/film as well!
And as for Melissa Barrera (Joey)? Please! Talk about a Scream Queen! She’s out here doing what she does best. AKA playing a sympathetic, badass final girl/heroine to absolute PERFECTION!!
And I gotta give a shout out to Angus Cloud (Dean)! While the few characters I’ve seen him play _have_ been pretty similar, my God does he do phenomenal job at it! (I deeply wish that we’d have been able to see him do more. 😔) Rest In Peace, Angus!
Aaaand, even though I don’t have quite as much to say about them, I would be quite remiss not to point out the fact that Giancarlo Esposito, William Catlett, and Matthew Goode all also turned extremely solid performances as a well!
In my opinion, there genuinely isn’t a weak link among the cast! All of them were pretty damn phenomenal!
Loved them filming in Ireland but saying it’s New York 😂 I’m from Dublin, and the theatre Abigail is dancing in (Bord Gais Theatre) at the beginning is fab! I was like I KNOW THAT!

Thought this movie was so good I actually did go see it in theaters twice! Once with my bf, and again the very next day with a friend and I happily watching (bits of it. lol) with you now 💙
Random factoid, but work with me...
The Greek-American actor Telly Savalas was making a horror film in Italy called LISA AND THE DEVIL, directed by the influential Mario Bava. Between takes, Savalas was telling Bava about his struggle to quit smoking because he needed that oral sensation, and Bava suggested sucking on a lollipop instead. Which, his character proceeded to do throughout the film.
Shortly after, Savalas landed the CBS detective series "KOJAK," where he was almost always seen chewing on a lollipop. It basically became Savalas' trademark 'till he died.
As such, I like to think that giving Melissa a lollipop fixation in this movie was an indirect tribute to Bava's suggestion. And while I don't know how many of them are easily streamable, I strongly recommend reacting to any of Bava's classic horror films - BLACK SUNDAY, BLACK SABBATH, BARON BLOOD, KILL BABY KILL, TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE (BAY OF BLOOD), HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON, and SHOCK (BEYOND THE DOOR II). He also did the cool comic-book crime caper DANGER DIABOLIK, which The Beastie Boys paid tribute to in their music video for "Body Movin'."

It's fitting that the first reaction of yours I watched was for "Scream". Thank you so much for speaking at the beginning of this video on all of...that. I choose to see the good in that I really, really loved "Scream VI" and while it wasn't a complete story per se I do think we left Sam in a good place and in my mind the franchise ends at VI. But beyond that, I'm so, so glad you liked "Abigail"; I had a feeling it'd be right up your alley. This movie was so freaking fun in the theatre, and the soundtrack is spectacular. I love that Melissa is really embracing being a scream queen because she does so damn good in movies like this; I genuinely cannot wait to see what she does next. You are always full of zingers and I think it was the "I would be so insulted by the 'Swan Lake' performance during my death" that had me howling. Abigail's genuine horrifying joy at playing with them was so spicy throughout the movie lol. Definitely agree with the other comments below that Alisha Weir is going to be a name to watch in the upcoming years. She was spectacular in this, and she did a lot of the dancing herself -- she did the banister sequence without a stunt double, too!
Great reaction as always Alanda. While I am excited for Scream 7 with Neve back as Sidney and Kevin Williamson as Director, I'm still disappointed with how Spyglass treated Melissa for her stance on this very serious matter. Anyways, to more positive things, I suggest for you to watch "Thanksgiving" since it's very much a slasher vibe that i think you would enjoy.

We also feel pretty similar when it comes to the Scream franchise and everything going on there. It truly is my all time favorite movie franchise and has been a place of comfort and joy for me over damn near 30 years! But now it’s so incredibly tainted for me. At least going forward.
