We are doing some testing on the new Everlast 251si multi process welding machine and the first thing we need to do is test out the DC TIG function. While we are playing around with the machine, we decided to show you some tips for lay wire and dabbing in a fillet weld.

Its a good video. I've only learned to dab while welding with my everlast welder. I will need to give the lay wire technique a try sometime.

I really like the 2T setting, that how I started welding, haven't done anything with 4T or the petal. I also think TIG is easier than stick, but I'm just starting to weld.

the 4t function on the esab I use at work still utilises a high frequency Arc initiation, it's really just a latch button so you don't have to hold the switch down when welding.
using the 4 t isnt instead of HF, its becaus when u push and hold thats one setting, and when u let go it goes to ur working setting, so u can lift off with low amp and when u see the arc u can let go and start welding :)

Yes, embedded silica. Silicon dioxide reduces to silicon and oxygen in the arc. Reaction with iron makes sparks.

Hi, I'm wondering how you have found this Everlast welder? Is it holding up long term? Would it be a good option for someone that builds projects non professionally and would like the capability to run multiple weld types but not necessarily multiple machines? I enjoy the videos.

i use an ahp alpha tig 200x.maybe not quite the whistler the everlast is, but it's every bit as capable

mr tig is very intelligent.... but it has all gone to his head. bob is soo much more humble
I always wondered what kind of a grown man thinks so highly of himself to be called Mr. Tig 😂 Not hating but I've seen countless videos of him completely cooking the material. Bob on the other hand is so modest and an absolute beast at welding.
Will this Everlast 251si run 6010 stick? Website says its not rated but also said that about the lightning 225 and another youtuber ran it well on the 225. thanks for any help

I would love to see your technique for ending a TIG Pipe weld on stainless pipe on scratch start pure DC generator like a old Lincoln SA 200 engine drive without burnt gray color, that would be a test of technique and would help alot with heat input on stainless
I've never tried to use the lay wire technique with my everlast welder. How can you guarantee there will be enough filler material in the weld if filler wire is just sitting there getting melted?

It's an ArcOne Vision helmet. It's insanely quick and has great clarity. Can't recommend them enough.
If you dont have a remote, be wary of walking the cup if you dont know anything about amperage. You will get cold roll if you aren't hot enough. Dabbing is better for beginners and ensures proper fusion.
What's your take on this machine? I can't decide to get one or wait on the 221 that's coming out that's dual voltage.
This one is dual voltage also.
The 221 is AC/DC with pulse. They've announced it for later this year.
So far this machine has performed well. We haven't had a chance to use the 221, but we have heard about it and look forward to showing everyone. One nice thing about this machine is that it has HF start, which (I believe) is the only multi process that can tout that feature.

do you tell your students that when there out there in the job market. there going to be running older machines??
I'm not sure I follow you? The students run everything from these Everlast Inverters, to Lincoln C300 to Miller Shop Master, ESAB Rebel / Renegade, etc. They run transformers, inverters, new and old. Machine doesn't make the welder look good, it's the other way around. Hope that answers your question.

that's OK. it's been better than 20 years since I was in high school VoTech and Tech College. but my 1st welding teacher ( Votech )told us that. when were go out into the field/ job market. we would be running older machines for the most part. so seeing the machines you run are considerably more modern than what I've run.
could you review a Fronius machine!!!
Fronius machines are generally extremely expensive, but we will see if we can get one in to play around with.
bob moffet is way better then mr tig. was never convinced mr tig was actually the one doing the welding
I use small pieces of PVV pipe with end caps to store my tungsten

Does that machine not support 4T high freq start?? 4T doesn't have anything to do with lift arc, per se....only that you have to hit the switch to start, then stop the arc....but it still should be able to high freq start...unless you just like lift arc, then hey, sounds good lol
This machine supports HF start, it doesn't matter if you are using 2T, 4T, hand control or foot control. We did lift arc because we had some requests to show lift arc with 4T mode.
Every _Dime_ should be identical.
I like to use the pulse setting on my everlast welder to help with my timing. It helps me a lot with keeping the dimes identical.
I don't think your using the latent heat word right.
Wish you had cut the welds to see penetration ☹
I notice A LOT of RUclips welding channels are using Everlast machines. Everlast must be spending a bunch of money on paid promotions.

Definitely didn't help out at all I wanted to know the difference between the two techniques video has nothing to do with either technique you talked more about the machine f&^% the machine
