Great video great camera angles I have a job to go do tomorrow on this type of vehicle and I'm glad I got to watch your video thanks again man keep it up
Guy just sold ma Prius C clean title with 115k miles. Said it ran great, didn’t notice anything on the short test drive, but I drove another Prius c which is getting 15+ mpg better. Man got me good.
Sorry to hear that @UsefulEveryday. My 2013 Prius C is at 112k now and still gives about 50 mpg in mixed driving, close to the 53/47 for city/hway according to specs. No degradation over the years as far as I can see. Is your’s giving you 35 mpg? I am surprised - are there any fault codes in the OBD?
Thankyou. Im about to sit my mini ev safety course. Just a 1 day thing. My online theory is infprmative but pictures beat words anyday. And then having this video showing exacrly what is explained is 1000percent better.r
Cool. Good temporary get around. Last week just experienced running out of gas leaving my car on idling air conditioning on and running my HV battery down flat on my Prius C. Took almost an hour plus disconnecting the 12 V battery and letting it rest. It finally restarted the engine.

hi can you assist me please... trying to get torx bolts that hold done both the batter and frame...would you be able to tell me what size torx bolts to get
If the modules lost capacity it doesn’t matter if you charge one module close to others. Once owner turn on AC all lights pop up again and car set in limp mode. All modules have to be with the same capacity plus properly balanced.
Thank you so much! Just replaced my battery, and now the car won’t start. It goes to accessory, and doesn’t let me start. HV plug is fully seated. Any ideas?
Great video, I have a 2013 Prius-c that I bought as a total. I fixed the sheet metal and drove it for a few years. It has 33,000 on it and was running great. I then let it sit for a year before I bothered to put a charger on the 12 volt battery which I had replaced when I rebuilt the car. Got it running and the traction battery is giving errors. Low voltage on A and low voltage on B. Is that a battery conditioner in the video? If so would you give the model and source? Thank You for the video and help.
What is the torque spec for the bolts that hold the hybrid battery to the car? and the torque spec of the bolts that hold the seat frame? thank you very much.
Is there a way to charge it without removing it?? I bought a 2014 toyota prius c that was involved in a deer accident. Vehicle sat for over a month, jump starting the 12v battery only turns on lights but will not turn the car on. It says to check the hybrid system on the screen. Codes p0A40 & p0A41 came up from the obd reader, Position sensor circuit. Anything i should try to start it up? Or does the hybrid battery need to be replaced because the car sat for too long and maybe the battery is dead
I did it. car runs great now. I've seen a couple of other people posted how they did it and the car has been good for at least 3 years. I bought another running prius from a tow yard and that battery pack also had 2 bad modules . So i fixed mine and have 22 spare modules now that i've sold a couple also.
Bringing a single cell up to scratch is fruitless - Batteries internals grow stalagmites and stalactites which cause internal low resistance and self discharging. Of course, all of the cells are aged with the same issue. Most likely only get about 6 months to a year out of the fix.
Wow i really appreciate the adherance to safety!! This guy is top notch!👍

awesome video. very thorough and well explained.

Great video on Prius -c thanks! Any ideas on where temperature sensor "C" is? I've got a fault on that I can't find.
Wow thanks guys that’s very detailed explanation. After how many km your customer had this issue?
I am not sure how many miles on that vehicle. Usually 175,000 miles or more for the battery issue.
Is this for a 2013 prius too. My dad having to take my back seat out to resit bc its acting up.

What does balancing modules means?
Hedgehog The Sonic same voltage while battery under load and in quite condition.

It is not a conditioner just a tester. I have not had luck fixing old batteries
What is the torque spec for the bolts that hold the hybrid battery to the car? and the torque spec of the bolts that hold the seat frame? thank you very much.
I judge by bolt head size.
If you want the actual specs look on Toyota Information System with a 1 day subscription.
So as for putting it back, it is just reverse? like the last thing i would do is connect the little battery after putting the orange safety clip?
Orange HV disconnect then 12v battery last

Those codes are not battery related. There is probably a broken wire or unplugged connector on the side of the transmission.
@@Mrelectric423 and you are probably right, damage had pushed the driver side cv axle out and only the end piece was still inside
My 2013 Prius C sat idle for over a month (6-7 weeks) in winter and just needed a 12V jump and some highway miles to get it back to normal.
Thanks for the vid.
Very helpful video! Thank you. What's your opinion on swapping bad modules with ones off of Ebay and call it good?
Without matching capacities its pretty hopeless

Yes many hybrids get are sold by owner when the HV battery fails. That said they are frequently repaired and resold.
