But I kept an eye how every patch Barb was getting buff after buff and now I feel like it's on par with Sader. Moving away from AA reliance with all the don't give an F if cc'ed essences (chain/hammer/cleave) and now my favorite Spartusk(got me to legend on 750reso) removing buffs makes me say "Hell, it's about time we go back to origins!"😎
Jupp Sure :) in the overview you see lacerate skill+rending. You could play both frenzy essences too with frenzy as primary. I did this in the video so yes, maybe not the best idea to use this Video there 😅

Hey have another observation I wonder if you noticed regarding the Sprint helm and projectile speed. The projectile speed seems to only apply if you use a skill while Sprint is already active. If you use Cleave or HoA and THEN Sprint they will only get the attack speed portion of the head essence (it looks that way at least). But if you have Sprint already active and then use Cleave/HoA you'll see the speed increase is dramatic meaning the projectile speed applied. Strange, have you noticed?
Yes i noticed due to sometimes slower whirling axes but i couldnt tell why, so thank you for that clarification :D dont know why this happens but have you created a bug Ticket for it?
Brutal video on this build really in depth, as good as it is I still think there are better pve/pve builds on this channel, this is for the people that want to try something different that was not seen before and sure it is fun too. Thank you for this amazing video!
Thanks for posting this video. I don't think you need to grind the terror rifts for sprint duration gear. You can reforge armor for beneficial effect duration, use runes, use awakened slots, and use vithu set.
Hey craine, I just caught up on your recent videos in preparation to switch back to barb. Some good stuff as always. One question I have, though: have you tested which damage buffs and armor breaks stack, and which don’t? Iirc from Auroth’s ultimate guide to dps, damage buffs go into one of four buckets, which are then multiplied together. However, I’ve seen other RUclipsrs test and confirm that certain damage buffs don’t stack, and the example I recall was from two essences affecting different skills. For armor breaks, we have lingering wounds + detested + sunder + other barb skills/essences + 2 midwinter + mastermind paragon… it’s a lot. I’ve heard before that at least some of these don’t stack, eg sunder + mastermind.
You have the 3s CD freeze from cleave and 30% on 10s CD freeze from Set. So within 3s you get 3 Frozen and shatter Animations. That is awesome ;) the issue is the immunity of the tempest and that is sadly an issue for every build out there. We all need to wait for the Nerf.
great explanation of things, awesome build guide overall, I can't wait to put something similar together. My only comment is that the stun resistance from reforges is hit by strife so you're only getting 16%. it's a bad reforge for pvp imo and something else should be picked here.
Recently switched from crus to barb and it's so fun to play with. Gonna try this build when I'll farm all the essences. My top 1 channel for DI content keep up the good work, all the best.
I was looking g for it since last week… Good job mate… Just I didn’t like we are away from Tanking w this build which is very opposite to tanking in PvP
Sunder brings you and your party 30% dmg increase to all damage delt. Berserker ist just a small 7k dmg tick. If you do open world farm this is a valid Change, since you get even faster, but for all other contents where you need to kill a Boss i would prefer sunder.
You mentioned in the video that you farmed 600 essences in few days what was your strategy for that? I am missing 2 crusial essences (squirmskull and frigid grin) and I am not sure if Lasal on normal is still the best way to get them (since we have no events to farm leg items).
Well i farmed the new abyssal portals like crazy. You where able to get 1-2 Legendaries per Run. Now its nerfed so i wouldnt go for that. But i learned one thing... I farmed hundrets of legendaries in 2-3 game Modes. But one time survivors bane and i had my last Legendary. So diversity is the way to go. Check if theres an event that grants leggies and that you havent done yet. Or a game mode (Tower, lairs, Dungeons, endless, ...) and try this one.
Then CW ,Tower, Lairs, vault, flowers, yakins.. many different game Modes helps more then 100h ow farming imo. Less leggy, higher quality and chance imo
Hey, so about the new shoulder essence. The 47.5% damage to slowed targets essence counts towards chilled targets making the new essence virtually useless if you even were to choose that one. I find that very weird that they would give use 2 essences like that making the new one pointless. So the armor break Skull Motte shoulders increases every source of damage making it my current main choice and a good choice like you said. The new off hand isn't as good as Clattersteel also like you showed for a few reasons. Clattersteel hits an entire area at once compared to the new one that has to circle around you. It's good for large crowds of mobs probably I'm sure though. But the Clattersteel being a beneficial effect is a big boon. With the attack speed from the Sprint helm I've been testing out 4pc Baron / 2pc Endwinter / 2pc Vithus. Since Barons 20% is multiplicative with Endwinter while still getting the Barons duration and vithus duration, the combo is working well. Will probably go back to 4pc vithus though, maybe ..
Baron is nice! Honestly i havent tested the full stacking of all armor red. and damage effects. So skull motte + 4pc Baron + sunder & dmg effects of all Gems + set dmg (2pc end) + warband + ... Seeing damage going up was enough for me here, but i dont know If i hit any caps or similar.
Just finished the pve build I'm farming embers to craft vipers bite to proc my lvl 7 pain clasp. Cant wait to see how my dmg is after that begins. I'm at 20Mil dmg in 10 seconds with 2.3k Res. loving it
Do you recommend this build for PVP over firestorm w/ shackled fate chains? Firestorm seems to have the best damage for PVE for me rather than this cold build right now.
Firestom chains peaks in my setup to 6M, this freeze build to 5M DPS. Both get to a solid 3M DPM. So currently i play freeze the freeze in PVE BC it makes nrly no different and i want some variety ;)
For someone who has yet to have touched Barb, which PvE and PvP build do you think I should set my focus on first? Seems like they have a few solid builds.
Vielen Dank, Craine, hab schon sehnlichst auf dieses Video gewartet.😉 Bin immer wieder beeindruckt, zu welchen Kombinationen von alt und neu du in deinen Analysen kommst, um den besten Output zu erzielen. Insgesamt sehr spannende neue Essenzen, aber ich mag Firestorm/Shackled Fate immer noch lieber. Hab das neue grüne Set noch nicht, aber mit 4/4 Vithus/Banquet ist meine dps mit dem neuen Build doch deutlich tiefer als mit der bisherigen Meta. Und in pvp spiele ich einfach lieber defensivere Builds, da ich da imo den grösseren Impact auf den Ausgang des Kampfs habe (zumindest im low reso Bereich knapp unter 2k, wo ich zurzeit bin). Freue mich deshalb auf dein nächstes Video!😉
Hello und Danke :) kann dich verstehen! Der shackled fate ist immernoch Stier. Einen Hinweis jedoch: der Damage bei dem build kommt erst mit dem Set. Alle 0,5s ein shatter zwischen 15 und 25k dann alle 3s einen weiteren 25k shatter. Und das für ca. 18s duration. Da findet die Magie statt ^^
Großartig wie immer, danke für all die detaillierten Infos zum neuen Content. Fand auch die überraschende Länge absolut okay und werde die Builds definitiv austesten. Leider habe auch ich genau das gleiche Problem wie Du und finde diese verdammte Rüstungsessenz (noch) nicht :D Keep it up!

Freeze build is dope! Tried and tested! I 100% recommend it in pve. Esp w/ pve content that gets diff like crift and endless def. Cc build is very useful against alot of painful mobs. And this is definitely new and cool for our barb! I mean literally cool. 😂 Another good build. Again, good job bro! 👍👏

@@vitor.m23 still worth BC of speed / DMG improvement. You dont have a 100% uptime of this gem, but you never had. Its the most important gem or crusader BC they usually go with 4pc vithus and with this gem they share the att speed to the Team (with other skills too of course). Same goes for barb. Good gem.
Benefitial effect duration from reforges / Legendary attributes for sprint and the aoe hammer. For cleave there are two ways as cleave is no benefitial effect. Skill cooldown attribute on sets and eternal attribute from terror rift items. There you can get a cleave cd reduction for every primary attack. But u need it on min 2-3 items to make it work to 100% uptime.
I have one question to this build, the wrath of berserker is no more, so do i need to aim for skill cooldown reduction on secondary gear? Or befeficial duration effect is enough? Thx
Skill CD is very important for the cleave. You see already that it has mostly 2s CD which is annoying ^^. With eternal gear it gets better but having skill CD is a good thing. For pure open world you can switch sunder skill and oncoming brutality offhand with sundered legacy and skill wrath. Then you are even more efficient in ow and got your wrath back ;)

Ich mein ow is eh einfach nur schnell sein also move speed ist eh alle oneshot😂 finde es nur wichtig für die etwas schwereren Aufgabe also Bosse oder trifts ein build zu haben
Achso hier meine aktuellen gems: roiling r4, seeping r4, pain r10, mothers lement r10, Berserker r10 (wird getauscht), gloom r3, Jade r4, m&b r10 (kommt bald weg) Was sollte ich für die beiden die weg kommen rein machen? Am besten nur 1 5*
It is okay-ish but only active like 40% of the time. So viper 100% on every enemy. Plus you have two dots then which is solid damage and helps you clear any mobs without taking too much care of the last 5% hp of them :)
Ive been using the spartusk helm for my pure tank build even before it was buffed. Despite being f2p (pure tank) , im having good results in bg with it. The idea is to keep enemies near me for lesser damage taken and away from my not so tough teammates and make these enemies susceptible to range/aoe damage from my more powerful teammates. When the tempests arrived standing on the idol was a lot harder because of their op damage and shields and anti-cc abilities. With the recent buff to this helm, it is a bit easier to stand on the idol again since tempests shields seem to be removed by this helm ability. So it seems the spartusk can actually remove shields and some people are not yet aware. Can you confirm? Thanks!
Terror rift legendaries can have the eternal affixes. So farm terror rifts, do terror bounties and use 10 terror essences a week to get a free 3/3 legendary eternal items.

Shakled fate, borrowed might, skull mote, ancestors steeles, sundered Legacy, reding bite, falling thunder and all dot gems (torment, viper, roiling, jade) with a 2pc baron,2pc VITHUS and (4pc grace or 4pc Angmet or 4pc Banq) and Mysery elixier. U basicly try to stay alive under idol as long as possible and delivering up to 8 dots.

In Terror rifts and hellbounties you can get legendaries with eternal affixes. The sprint attributes on one item gives you 25% immunity to all knockbacks chill and slow while sprint is active. You can Stack it 4 Times, so having the Attribute on 4 legendaries. This results in 100% immunity to knockbacks ;)

Havent been that much into detail, but will have look into it! Sunder + cleave + detested is fine, but rest needs to BE tested.
Frozen build total get torture by tempest since bg now many tempest, 10sec frozen to player is not good, 10sec for mobs totally crap😂

Ich habe alles wie irre gefarmt und ewig kein Glück gehabt. Am Ende hatte ich das survivors Bane übersehen. 2 Runs... Zack war sie da ^^

Taking the PVP builds here, but using the freeze ww instead of hammer/chains

@@vitor.m23 still worth BC of speed / DMG improvement. You dont have a 100% uptime of this gem, but you never had. Its the most important gem or crusader BC they usually go with 4pc vithus and with this gem they share the att speed to the Team (with other skills too of course). Same goes for barb. Good gem.

Benefitial effect duration from reforges / Legendary attributes for sprint and the aoe hammer. For cleave there are two ways as cleave is no benefitial effect. Skill cooldown attribute on sets and eternal attribute from terror rift items. There you can get a cleave cd reduction for every primary attack. But u need it on min 2-3 items to make it work to 100% uptime.
I have one question to this build, the wrath of berserker is no more, so do i need to aim for skill cooldown reduction on secondary gear? Or befeficial duration effect is enough? Thx
Skill CD is very important for the cleave. You see already that it has mostly 2s CD which is annoying ^^. With eternal gear it gets better but having skill CD is a good thing. For pure open world you can switch sunder skill and oncoming brutality offhand with sundered legacy and skill wrath. Then you are even more efficient in ow and got your wrath back ;)

Leider nein, cleave und auch der neuer hammer sind keine benefitial effects und werden nicht dadurch verlängert. Nur Skill CD hilft.

Hey :) ja klar! Am besten ein build für jeden mode da jeder mode speziell ist und mehr Speed, dmg oder aoe dots braucht. Daher ja, mache ich auch so :). Viele casual gamer haben halt gerne einen build mit dem sie praktisch alles spielen können ^^ daher der versuch allround builds zu kreieren :)
Ich mein ow is eh einfach nur schnell sein also move speed ist eh alle oneshot😂 finde es nur wichtig für die etwas schwereren Aufgabe also Bosse oder trifts ein build zu haben
Achso hier meine aktuellen gems: roiling r4, seeping r4, pain r10, mothers lement r10, Berserker r10 (wird getauscht), gloom r3, Jade r4, m&b r10 (kommt bald weg)
Was sollte ich für die beiden die weg kommen rein machen? Am besten nur 1 5*
Und würdest du eher 6% crit dmg oder 6% primary attack dmg auf legi items bevorzugen
Generell für pve 6% primary. Im PvP wo man weniger primaries raushaut würde ich den crit nehmen. Beides strifed, aber joa ^^

19:54 isnt roiling consequence enough to cover that?
It is okay-ish but only active like 40% of the time. So viper 100% on every enemy. Plus you have two dots then which is solid damage and helps you clear any mobs without taking too much care of the last 5% hp of them :)

Ive been using the spartusk helm for my pure tank build even before it was buffed. Despite being f2p (pure tank) , im having good results in bg with it. The idea is to keep enemies near me for lesser damage taken and away from my not so tough teammates and make these enemies susceptible to range/aoe damage from my more powerful teammates.
When the tempests arrived standing on the idol was a lot harder because of their op damage and shields and anti-cc abilities.
With the recent buff to this helm, it is a bit easier to stand on the idol again since tempests shields seem to be removed by this helm ability. So it seems the spartusk can actually remove shields and some people are not yet aware. Can you confirm? Thanks!
Yes! Spartusk is the real Deal. Imo a mandatory for f2p to lower mid reso. How do you get movement Speed? Wrath or Sprint?

How u get the sprimt affix?
Terror rift legendaries can have the eternal affixes. So farm terror rifts, do terror bounties and use 10 terror essences a week to get a free 3/3 legendary eternal items.

Nice, Happy to hear! And yes with the weekly 10 terror essences used reward you usualy get 3/3 or 3/4 item with two different eternal affixes.

What is the most "turtle" pvp build?
Shakled fate, borrowed might, skull mote, ancestors steeles, sundered Legacy, reding bite, falling thunder and all dot gems (torment, viper, roiling, jade) with a 2pc baron,2pc VITHUS and (4pc grace or 4pc Angmet or 4pc Banq) and Mysery elixier. U basicly try to stay alive under idol as long as possible and delivering up to 8 dots.

In Terror rifts and hellbounties you can get legendaries with eternal affixes. The sprint attributes on one item gives you 25% immunity to all knockbacks chill and slow while sprint is active. You can Stack it 4 Times, so having the Attribute on 4 legendaries. This results in 100% immunity to knockbacks ;)
