- I recently spoke with Direct Connection regarding their Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye stage kits and they revealed that they are also developing stage kits for the current Scatpack and the 2025 Charger. DC plans to have stage kits available for both the EV and Hurricane powered charger, which should be out next year. 392 kits should be available by late summer. This is very exciting news if you're interested in adding power to your muscle car but don't want to void the warranty.

Look at Buddas' recent post about Mustang GT and adding a supercharger with warranty still from specified dealers. Adding over 300 hp to the 5.0. Raising it to 810 hp. $50,000. Dodge ruined themselves! Greedy asses!

Those 6.4 kits are probably going to be just cold air intakes, cat back exhausts, and maybe some rebranded headers or other parts.
I was thinking the same. Just a bunch of stuff that other companies offer and with similar specs. They are just trying to get in on the mod business but, too little too late and, no 5.7 kits? Ouch
Yea remember they had stage 1 and 2 for the scats was just exhaust and intake stuff
If that makes you feel better who knows could have 200hp gains for all anyone knows
And the 5.7 still remains as the redheaded step child gets no love even though it’s the one that most people can afford to upgrade v8 wise

It could be that if they bought the cheapest v8 version, that there might be a large amount of buyers who couldn't afford it? I could be wrong

I personally think if they did it to the RT nobody would buy the bigger engines. To be honest I know I wouldn't.

If they manage to get the power of 392 to around 550Hp while keeping it N/A and making it available to all 392 powered vehicles (with the exception of the Ram HD variant), it will be amazing.
That kind of increase on a N/A engine would probably take a cam & head change and be very expensive.
I got quoted $22,000 for forged pistons/cam and head work. I had to buy the Whipple

@artillerybuff2000 cost me a little over 5k for about 50whp in my scat. Headers, intake, throttle body and tuning. These cars are very expensive to mod and get power out of. The headers alone cost $1500+
Stage 1 - JLT intake and longtube headers

Great video, Bud! Nice to see the 6.4 owners finally getting some love! Seeing you still enthusiastic about Dodge since Tim left, makes me feel a little better. Still, I hope this new CEO will be able to deliver. Right now a lot of people are upset about what is happening to Dodge. I totally understand where they are coming from. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Key to beating a hellcat: headers, ported intake manifold , ported or bigger TB, JLT cold air intake, nitrous express 6.4 plate system for a 200 shot, custom nitrous tune. Same setup I have. Thank me later my 6.4 people
It would be nice if direct connection can update the software on the challenger scat pack to open and close the valves on command in the infotainment system.

Late model muscle is so good out of the box..unless there was a smog legal supercharger kit I wouldnt bother
bolt ons most do little or nothing at all.
Never heard bolt ons 80s even 90s. Headers intake carb etc were a given. If you had a cam it was "stock with a cam"
When I read "FULL bolt ons" cant help but laugh a bit.
Would the stage kit change the sound? I keep thinking about getting a new exhaust.
As a 392 WB Shakedown Manual last call owner... This has peaked my interest. I'll see what comes out and if it's worth the $$$$. For now I'm "ok" with the power with th 392. But definitely wouldn't mind an extra 50-75 to the wheels. The 6M I feel like there's more to play with power wise.

Great timing, I was just on the Direct Connection site a couple of days ago looking for a Scat Pack Stage Kit for my 2022 Challenger 1320. If I can get one and retain my 8 year Mopar warranty I'm all in! I'd be thrilled with a more aggressive 96 octane race tune for use at the drag strip! Thank you for the scanner review.
Unfortunately stage kits will void the warranty on any extended warranty even the MOPAR one. It only retains the warranty for the initial 5yr powertrain warranty.

Lets push for the return of 5.7 stage kits. I love my RT+ and I dont feel like trying to track down a Scat that meets my standard.
I think they’ll come out with a cam and heads. They did a cam for 5.7 hemi. If the could bump it up 80hp with warranty I’ll buy forsure!
Need to ask about the rumors that it voids the extended warranty eventhough it's covered under the factory warranty.
I would love a tune, cam and E85 option for my 1320! Seems like such an option would easily push 100 extra HP
Not realistic at all, you'd need a lot more than that to gain 100hp.

It wasn't a rumor... they released a graphic showing 392 kits, along with redeye stage 3 kits being in development when everything was first announced.

The new drag pack engine will wake 1000+ if that tells you anything. I can see adding 150hp or more with just a tune and a few supporting mods 👍

Great news for owners of the new cars, but - what would you recommend for older cars? I have 2016 5.7 and 2008 6.1 Hemis. Just starting to think about putting more power into them. Still worthwhile going through Dodge with the warranty on both being long gone? Or better to find an aftermarket muscle shop to do the work?
Look up a performance shop that has a Dyno. I’m looking at the Challenger to put a Procharger on. Did that with my LS2 2006 Corvette. They dialed it in and fixed a bunch of things I didn’t see. The Vette puts out 578 hp at the wheels. An Army friend has a Hellcat and now I want a Challenger with the parts I want . Good luck on your quest.
Wiht late model cars best thing you can do is to put a supercharger on it.
Bolt ons do little to nothing...as the guy said mfrs have done the hotrodding for us.
Hard to improve on what they sell off the lot which is huge.
Does anyone have any insight on what specifically the mods are possibly going to be in the stage kits for the 392s? Since apparently they squeezed all the power out of them that they can get, I’m curious to what the specific mods are going to be if anyone knows. Like what are the most likely things that will be modded?

Hey X…. With Dodge/Stellantis deciding to stick a HP75 instead of the HP90 trans behind the HO Hurricane 6, will adding power really be a good idea? Serious question.
I know a lot of folks really grumble about there not being that big growling V8 anymore, but what you are talking about with the 6 cylinder Hurricane engine throwing down that kind of power how could you not be excited? You get big power and fuel efficiency, that's a win-win in my book. I can't wait to see what people do with the Hurricane engines when they can start buying them as crate engines. Challenger GT and SXT guys are gonna make some seriously badass sleepers! As far as the talk about the RT getting no love, my Shaker is out of warranty anyway so a Hellion Twin Turbo system is in my future. Now I just need to start squirreling away the funds for it. 😁 Thanks for the positive update Racer X, keep it coming.
Any chance they offer a full Widebody conversion for 392 chargers through direct connection? Including suspension upgrade and everything? For me that would be better than bolt ons only getting 20-30 hp.
392 is maxxed from factory and 5.7 is neutered. The price of a 392 is tempting, but I’d rather put the 4k$ difference on my rt. Also my RT is loaded, I can’t find a loaded 392 locally even in purple.
The 6.4 is pretty hot from the factory and will serve you many years and hard runs if you just leave it alone. The motor doesn’t like the mods it takes to go “next level”.
It would be more cost effective to just buy a hellcat.
This is great for the 392 6.4 but what about the 5.7 hemi
Even if they can just get it to 500hp it’s worth it to me to be at that number. Plus a better exhaust note. It’s a win.
Finally some good news on the Dodge performance front. Now the only question I've got is will the folks @ Direct Connection be releasing a Stage 2 Performance package for 2015-2018 Hellcat owners? They've already done so for the 2019 and above Red Eyes & Super Stocks so I'm just wondering if and when the Stage 2ellcat performance kit ever come to pass?
Still keeping my Scat Pack 6 speed. In my mind, it's a masterpiece. 24mpg, everything works just fine. Would be cool to take a GT AWD Challenger and put a hurricane 6 twin turbiskis with 1300 Hp.

Only cars covered under warranty are 2020 and newer. 2015 to 2019 will not be covered also extended warranty will not be covered

@racerx I think that gray widebody scat you used is the exact one at Courtesy I’m looking at 😂. Do you find they give better deals than Jerry Ulm? From what I can see, they don’t have as much dealer accessories/fees like JUD does.

Yeah the 87 Buick gn 3.8 turbo 6 easily could take 4 seconds off the quarter time and last (ask how I know). The hurricane could probably take seconds off as well, but I bet it doesn’t live 100k miles at most if you do the same to it. The Buick gn was/is a unicorn.
I would be VERY interested if we could get confirmation on transmission OPTIONS for some of those crate engines (now that they are more readily available) .. when will we get MANUAL transmission pairing options for the DEMON 170, Hellephant, and redeye crate engines?? some of us like REAL transmissions.

Correct me if I’m wrong but if the kit doesn’t include a bigger intake manifold, you aren’t solving the horsepower problem
How are 6.4s “maximize” from the factory. I had ported heads headers bigger cam bigger tb got a better intake of course a tune and it made 495 to the wheels. If I went E85 it would have made 520-530. Overall thats 100 hp more than stock.
I've been saying this for years to people that say the 392 is maximized from factory... no tf it's not, it's stout for sure, but no car is maximized from the factory. Plenty of room to pull power with bolt on's to let that big 6.4 breathe better and working on fixing that tepid ECU tune from the factory. Did wonders for my 392... how it should've came from the factory.
@@RoyalViking465 Facts with the proper tune head work and cam these cars n/a can put out some power. If you want to boost it just add some pistons. If not go twin turbos can run lets boost and make more power than a blower without strain the motor

So, these are my thoughts. You can get HP out of the 392, with tunes and headers. Lots of people have been doing this with good numbers. My guess, tunes add quite a bit to the 392 from what I have seen. With the way Dodge is going, if Direct Connection price gouges these kits, im going to void my warranty going with a tuner - because whats the point? Dodge is not the company it once was. Secondly, myself and others have voiced their lack of interest in a 6. If i wanted a six, I could have gotten a bmw, or a nice used porsche for the price of this SP. I got this car because its a v8 muscle car. The other cars would have had better resale, and more than likely, better craftsmanship. The Hurricane can go to h311.

Just found it apparently is not. Does Dodge enjoy leaving out certain vehicles or what? The Hellcat Durango also has a hellcat engine so I don’t see why it can’t get that as well along with the TRX. Pretty disappointing tbh.

I sold my scat for a GT 10r80 and now we get stage kits.. mannnn I should have waited.
You won't be missing much, not to much left you can do on the stock block unfortunately, they gonna charge prbly 10k for 50hp, not worth it,.
U still have the faster car now. No worries, the only way a scat will beat a 10r80 is on boosted, and we all know sacts can't handle boost well

High horsepower hurricanes could be cool, kinda like the Buick Turbo V6 was, but they are putting them in soccer mom station wagons.
I saw a video from Hemi Muscle and he showed an email from Dodge that if you do the upgrades and have been found racing when your car breaks your warranty is voided. Even if you purchased an extended warranty through Dodge they won't honor it as well
I would love to see the Hurricane in a light chassis. They should bring back the Dart they ruined.
Why don't you call your contact and ask when the Direct Connection and ask when are they releasing the Hornet stage kits. They have already developed them along with all of the other parts that they are stalling to release.
So, I have 2 questions. 1) I have the Durango SRT 392, will the stages work with my drive terrain/computer system? 2) I've heard rumors that the tunes will put the 392 at 670 at the crank, that being said (I know it's all under warrenty) but would the engine/transmission be able to handle that power?

I wouldn't get too excited about what kind of performance mods you might be able to do to the Hurricane chargers until you know if the rest of the drive train can handle any mods. No one knows what it will weigh or what transmission its going to use. And will the AWD handle much of an HP increase. You could start throwing more horsepower at the engine only to start blowing apart other parts of the drive train. So I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

hy racer x it's a shame that Dodge doesn't serve the 5.7 owners. But I can understand it because I only optimized the Hellcat intake and software myself. I didn't change anything else. And on the test bench I got 410hp and 600nm. That means the 5.7s have a lot of potential and above all they are not as far away from the ScatPack as Dodge always wants to communicate. Of course they want to sell ScatPack. I love my 5.7 and would buy packages if they existed. Best wishes from Germany. Oliver
