The house we inherited came with a 332 that's been mowing the same 1.5 acres for over 30 years. It's still going strong. The only thing I've done in 5 years not basic maintenance was a new fuel lift.

Always wanted a 332. Had a 322 good one for sure it was. But I wanted a 332 diesel!

Love the 332 and the video series. Not many of us under 40 appreciate and have a passion for older garden tractors. I have restored a 1987 316 with the 18hp Onan, 1997 JD 425 along with two Ford LGT garden tractors a 82 125 my grandfather bought new and a 1983 145. Also a 1998 Gravely 16g Professional Series currently starting on my dream "Super" garden tractor a 1986 JD 430! Also dig the Cyclone!

That’s awesome. I think at one point this summer we had a JD 400, 332, F911, 318, 318, 300, and a 110 sitting in our yard. They are great machines and built really well.

As a tech you cant find what id call a mid sized lawn mower with direct drive to the pumps and aux hydraulics, you hit the nail on the head of the x7 series and we hardly sell them, if going x7 mine as well go 1025

"A lot more torque than a gas engine in a mower." That kinda depends on what you're comparing against in my opinion. The sister tractor to that, the 322, ran the gas version of the 3 cylinder Yanmar in the 332. It was rated 2 hp higher, at 50rpm higher, but at the SAME torque as the diesel. Both versions were rated at 43 ft-lbs - around 5 to 10 ft lbs than the typical air cooled v-twin (depending on make and model of v-twin) that's common on yard tractors and zero turns today. So whether that counts as alot more, depends on how you look at it. Typing this up, I guess you can't really complain against having more torque than the engines I'm comparing to that have 100 cc's more than the Yanmar.
But even still, as a kid, the 330 we used felt like a freaking BEAST, and I'll agree that the 300 series was built to last. I'd want to restore my dad's 330, so I'm gonna subscribe so I have a reference.😁

Thanks for the subscription! Really appreciate you sharing all that knowledge on the gas vs. diesel models. No doubt these machines are one of a kind and that’s what makes them so desirable. Make sure to check out some of our other videos! Welcome to the channel.

Man any advice on where you sourced parts? Mechanical and cosmetic. I just got an ‘82 210. I need it for cutting this summer but this winter i’d love to go through it mechanically and paint it. Pretty much exactly what you did with this one. Thank you in advance!

eBay is your best friend. We have a local John Deere lawn tractor junk yard in Waterloo, Iowa. Go figure. For anything mechanical try eBay! Lots of parts for sale.

We source all our parts local from a guy who's been collecting JD garden tractors forever. I'd say we have a bit of an advantage living in the town where nearly everyone works for Deere. We've honestly had a lot of luck with our local John Deere dealer as well. Ebay is always a close second too.

I wouldn’t call this a restoration. No transaxle rebuild, no motor rebuild, no repainting of the frame. It’s not so much restored as it is refurbished.
