Agree with the list mostly. Would have been nice if you had mentioned that you can get lots of cerberi with the purchase of cages. Also, water elemental weekly growth sucks, making them even worse. But on the other hand, most conflux creatures are not "living" units, which means that vampire lords can't get health back by attacking elemental units, making water elementals quite helpful in the right situation against necropolis.
My List: S Tier: Ice Elemental (you're insane to put them that low!) A tier: Grand Elf, Dragon Fly, Cerberus B tier: Royal Griffin, Water Elemental, Iron Golem, Evil Eye, Nomad C tier: Griffin, Elf, Beholder, Hell hound, Serpent Fly, Orc Chief, Wraith, Ston Golem, Mummy D tier: Wight, Orc
Royal Griffins are pretty nice on Shadow of Death, using default map template. When you play on a higher difficulty and your first week is City Hall, Archers and Citadel, if you make it to barracks in week 2, you just hit those griffins there and let them build up to buy up in week 3 or 4 :)
It might be a surprise for you, but there are no units above lvl 7 in homm 3. Crystal dragons and other dragons from AB are treated as a lvl 7 unit (e.g. lvl 21 Solmyr deals extra 9% damage to those dragons, as if they are lvl 7). Only the map editor erroneously claims they are lvl 8-10, but that's fixed in HotA, where they appear properly as lvl 7.
@@DommHavai Just looked it up. You're right. Wonder why the map editor in default had this bug to begin with? Doesn't seem like a data entry bug or a software bug.
I think the only changes in my personal tier list would be to move serpent flies to B tier and royal griffons up to A. I play more random maps than I do Jebus templates and there are lots of maps that have excess griffon dwellings which is a good enough reason to build for royal griffons. Once you get a power stack they're actually pretty good alongside marksmen as meat-shields, and they're really fast to give explorer heroes if you never reach power stack levels. As for serpent flies I find their value limited to the really early game as movement-enablers and they have little value in fights due to their often low numbers and health.
Serpent flies is A tier. I hire only a limited for dispelling purposes at early. Like griffins, i let them grow about 50 units till i recruit them. Royal griffin is an A just below evil eyes

Have a question for you Lexiav. Do you consider Sea Dogs tier 4 units instead (and treat it like such), instead of tier 3. At least to me that makes more sense.
Now that you mention it, yeah. But then again for a tier 4 unit they would still be: 1) Way too expensive 2) Way too long of a build path to make them that good.
I think there was a test and most powerful units based on their growth, price and stats are either Royal griffin or Cerberi. Also being big stack is plus in some situation imagine on necropolis terrain you've cornered stack of grand elves (enemy is player with amulet of swiftness) with wights. they simply go forward max range away (aka 8) so now your wights can't reach them in full range meaning 2 ranged hits into wights or other creature. Now Griffins are longer and hence can reach further forward meaning they still block elves.
i held my last stand at a necropolis and the enemy was right outside the gates with 999999 spell points or whatever, i won the fight by continuously sending out 7x1 stacks of wraiths to drain his spell points :) i still lost the game though
Stat wise isn't royal griffin the best 3rd except iron golem 25hp, speed 9, 9 attack 9 defense, dmg 3-6 just plain stupid to put them at lowest C-tier below wights??
Pirates are definetely lower tier then this. They are worse than Wood Elves in almost every aspect. I agree with Corsairs and Sea Dogs evaluation though :)

It's pretty good with tower, but for other factions you may want to grab another town to get enough ranged units to make it worth. And also, if the enemy deletes your grand elves, or blocks them, the skill becomes useless.
Please next tier list: Hottest babes heroes 3 Hota tier list.
After that; Hottest units tier list
I'm pretty sure Ignissa would be #1
@@jorgetalamantes8674 Ofc its Luna, u can feel fire from that girl
Royal Griffon so underrated...
Like, it's a fine flyer, and you can make a very respectable power stack thanks to the hoard building... It just gets done soooo dirty by that garbage tier build path. Why. the ****. do I need to build a barracks before I get griffons?
@Well Played With their growth, they can make about the strongest melee stack of T3 (probably lose only to cerberi, due to no retaliation).
Lol griffins. I never (very rarely ever) build them, but when i do...i’m bored, have everything i need for castle and got some extra cash. When i diplo them, early, i use them as bait and retal takers, or blockers in best case scenario due to the two hex. Same with the fish sticks lol. These lists are fun lol
Time to update tierlists!
I recently played a random JC game and found Luna with 80 dragon flies in one stack, no ballista, no first aid tent, Expert Magic, Expert Earth, Expert Wisdom and Expert Intelligence with Resurrection and Fire Wall spells was unbeatable.
Sounds like a fun one :D
@@Lexiav My opponent kept spamming elementals but I had far too many spell points as them so eventually they had none and I had 300 spell points left. You and other HOMM3 RUclipsrs taught me how to play her. I plan to give you and the other HOMM3 RUclipsrs Christmas gifts the week of Christmas. You all deserve it. The others (non-HOMM3 RUclipsrs) that deserve it are those who taught me how to set up my new Windows laptop and what programs to put on it.
@@mikebaker1575 Love to hear that man! Seeing people enjoying themselves with this wonderful game is also very nice :)
@@Lexiav It’s still as interesting to me as it was 20 years ago.
Steel Golems deserve a slightly higher ranking since they absorb magic damage and can pack a surprising punch.
Regarding orc upgrade, you build a blacksmith anyway to upgrade your town hall, so I don't see the problem
Dunno about them Royal Griffins there buddy, infinite retaliations in huge numbers wrecks shit.
3:00: It isn't actually true that they are the only unit that has two upgrades. Both both archers and elves can be upgraded two times; the sharpshooters being the second upgrade. :)
Where can you upgrade archers and/or elves to sharpshooters? They aren't even in the same faction - SS are neutral creatures.
@@Kernel15: There's a hero that can upgrade both archers and elves to sharpshooters. He has sharpshooters as a specialty, but I don't remember his name. EDIT: His name is Gelu and he's a half-elf. He's a very fun character to play, by the way, because this is a huge power.
@@jeschinstad Nice. Thanks for the info, I never knew that.
Edit: Dang, I only have HotA, not AB or SoD.

can you give me the link? Would love to watch it :D
@@hungrymikepencetd5686 I'm sure it's named appropriately on Lexis channel. Look for a game with wrights on the thumbnail or something like that. I can't remember which game exactly it was.

Give more 1 hero 1 minute JO to the masses ! Much love
ALRIGHTY!!!
your tier-show dont have sens- Griffins best tier 3 unit
Necropolis fan for a lifetime and I've always seen Wraiths as useless. I often even not build their structure. Now that's a surprise how high he put them
Agree with the list mostly.
My List:
S Tier: Ice Elemental (you're insane to put them that low!)
A tier: Grand Elf, Dragon Fly, Cerberus
B tier: Royal Griffin, Water Elemental, Iron Golem, Evil Eye, Nomad
C tier: Griffin, Elf, Beholder, Hell hound, Serpent Fly, Orc Chief, Wraith, Ston Golem, Mummy
D tier: Wight, Orc
Still the best HOMM game ever! I do prefer the steam HD version, it just looks so damn good.
HD mod and playing with settings gives you better graphics and more content than "HD" scam edition
Theres no way archer below stone golem in tier..even for orc chiftain
I can't wait for the other tiers as well!
Quick question are you one of the people that hate and do not play HoMM4?
We don't talk about this here xD
HoMM4 is a swear-word
@@baristika Even when I saw Heroes5 mentioned?
Royal Griffins are pretty nice on Shadow of Death, using default map template. When you play on a higher difficulty and your first week is City Hall, Archers and Citadel, if you make it to barracks in week 2, you just hit those griffins there and let them build up to buy up in week 3 or 4 :)
"(...) just click space FURIOUSLY and they go FULL washing machine mode" hehehe
Tier 10 tier list, lol.
Really nice videos! But having upgraded pirates which are expensive and good in tier S and gorgons that are kind of expensive and good in C is not logical ... I know pirates shoot but still really similar creatures one in S other in C.
he is just biased against gorgons coz building this 5 k gold is too much for a pauper like him:p
Tier 3 has so many powerful upgraded units!
Have a question for you Lexiav. Do you consider Sea Dogs tier 4 units instead (and treat it like such), instead of tier 3. At least to me that makes more sense.
Now that you mention it, yeah. But then again for a tier 4 unit they would still be:
1) Way too expensive
2) Way too long of a build path
to make them that good.
@@Lexiav and with slightly lower stats compared to some, but still ... they are closer to tier 4 unit than to tier 3 in their cost, and abilities.
griffin Orc Chieftain D gollem and Wight C are you sure about that?
I think there was a test and most powerful units based on their growth, price and stats are either Royal griffin or Cerberi. Also being big stack is plus in some situation imagine on necropolis terrain you've cornered stack of grand elves (enemy is player with amulet of swiftness) with wights. they simply go forward max range away (aka 8) so now your wights can't reach them in full range meaning 2 ranged hits into wights or other creature. Now Griffins are longer and hence can reach further forward meaning they still block elves.
Can't wait for him to shit on Bone Dragons
I wonder where he will place Vampire Lords in tier 4 video
Royal Griffin is strong, iconic like rocs. They appear weak just because castle has so many other OP units.
Cool, but inconsistent criteria for the tiers.
Ice Elementals below the water ones? Really? No.
Upgraded elves do the job. I regret I can not use dragon flies properly. :(
Golem better than griffin? Golems are garbage, slow you down and they die before they get to enemy. Bizzare choice.
But consider the build path. One you have to make, the other you have to go back for.
Cast slow on them , and they encumber up to 2 tiles i think. Theyre the same than dwarves but much more healthy and resistant
@@brianmayabella5992 Yeah, but they don't slow you down on the map.
@@siejac7894 agreed, my choice... grand elves, royal griffin then evil eyes / serpent flies - both costly to builonly their downside
I find that Edris with Royal Griffins works pretty well.
Yeah, in my opnion he's probably the best Knight to choose from.
Omg... What?? There is no way these people are real, I must be hallucinating, right?? right???
Grand Elves were robbed
i dont see how royal griffin can be below basic inferno dog.
Eyes Rules jajaja,
can you do the same but for homm 5.5?
Maybe at some point i'll get into that game, for now heroes 3 is the one for me :D
@@Lexiav homm 5 < homm 3
For me homm 5 was forgetable ( maybe thats just me )
i held my last stand at a necropolis and the enemy was right outside the gates with 999999 spell points or whatever, i won the fight by continuously sending out 7x1 stacks of wraiths to drain his spell points :) i still lost the game though
Rangers removed from the expansion? This is why i love chronicles
Stat wise isn't royal griffin the best 3rd except iron golem 25hp, speed 9, 9 attack 9 defense, dmg 3-6 just plain stupid to put them at lowest C-tier below wights??
Many say that wrights are the shitiest units im the game. Why you placed them so high?
you need to rate your tier lists when you are done
Pirates are definetely lower tier then this. They are worse than Wood Elves in almost every aspect. I agree with Corsairs and Sea Dogs evaluation though :)
"Washing machine mode" :DDD
Griffins are much better. Better as Cerabs or Hell Hounds. They can fly. All is fine only Griffin's are much better
No way would I put Wights and Wraiths above the Griffins. It's just blasphemy.
Putting Ice Elementals past Water Elementals actually makes 0 sense whatsoever.
It actually makes a lot of sense since they deal no damage but have some health so 95% of the time you use them as meat
@@DOGEreal do you even know what the difference between ice and water ele is?
