    Thanks Mike. I like the point about checking the ceramic of the spark plug for damage.
    Will take that into account whe ever changing spark plugs.
    Looking forward to the turbo completion and the fuel injectors videos.
    Have a great day

      Thanks for watching. That actually happened to a guy I know who owned a Solstice base model. He pulled out the plug, put in the new one and started it up. He then looked at the plug and noticed a piece missing on the ceramic insulation. Pulled out the new plug, scoped the cylinder, and saw scratches on the wall. Had to get a new engine because he was going to NASSAM a week or so later.

    Thanks Mike for the video. I've only got 20K miles so far but after 11 years on my 09, maybe I should think about changing them. Sorry to bother you with an unrelated subject but my on driver side door sill scuff plate, the metal insert was buckling and after checking out some of the cool replacement ones that light up and that go over the outer part of the plate to hide this common problem but the thing was for two of these fancy ones with shipping to Canada it would have well over $400 Canadian so I ended up buying an original equipment one for a total of $75. I got it today and found that after I peeled the protective film off the metal insert, it was a dark grey underneath rather than the shinny polished aluminum insert that was on the original. Mine is a 2009. Do you think I may have gotten one from a different year. Is yours grey or bright silver? I don't even know if the there was a model year on the form when I ordered. No big deal I guess but now I have a silver one on the passenger side and a grey one on the other. lol!

    Mike, enjoyed the video and noted that you quoted a GM procedure but did they not recommend anti seize compound on the sparkplug threads?. my 2009 red line is due for a plug change soon. thanks

      Thanks Bill. Yes. GM does not recommend using anti seize on the plugs. It has something to do with improper torque which could damage the engine.

      @@MikesHouseOfMods Thanks Mike, I can se the reasoning if to much of it is use however I noticed in your presentation that there seemed to be some difficulty in breaking the plug loose and perhaps even rust/corrosion.

    • @MikesHouseOfMods
      @MikesHouseOfMods  4 года назад

      @@billylester7901 I agree that the plugs were a bit tight, but I'm not sure how long they have been in there. If you want to use anti seize, then feel free to do so. I'm just going by what GM says... especially since I made a RUclips video about it. If I did put anti seize on the plugs, I'm sure I'd get a bunch of backlash from the RUclips community...lol.

    Music was a little too loud for your voice. Mics are a good idea since this job is somewhat noisy with tools.
