Robin, thank you for this tutorial. I have been crocheting for 60 years now. This week I will be teaching my grandkids to crochet so I asked them to look for a project they want to make & they decided on your bumblebee!! This is a great first project!! Great project for a beginner! Thank you for a great pattern & tutorial!!
i haven’t crochet in a year, when i was crocheting, my stuff sucked, but now that i see this bee i’ve never been so motivated to crochet. I NEED THE CHONKY BEE
I have never crocheted in my life and I did this bee in about 2 days and he looks great for my first time crocheting ANYTHING!!!! This video is the most helpful best video on yt for crocheting!!! Thank you sm
i just started a couple of days ago and i was wondering if you have any tips on how to make tight, put together stitches, without it being difficult to pull the hook through x
All my years of doing rainbow loom bracelets has prepared me for this. God, give me the PATIENCE update over a year later: I made it :] 4 to be exact, all different sizes :] very cute, I made them little hats
This was my second ever crochet project! Although it was a little while ago and it didn’t come out perfect I’m still proud of it and it’s pretty cute. My mom now keeps it in her office next to her plant at work. Thank you for the tutorial, it was very thorough and I didn’t have a hard time understanding it!
I feel the same way, I keep seeing videos and am like glad my mom taught me that before it became “cool”. I’ve been crocheting since I was probably 10 and am now 24.
This is amazing! I've never crocheted before in my life, saw this tutorial and went out and bought a crochet hook and yarn 3 days ago. Just finished this adorable fat bumble bee this morning and he's perfect! A bit bigger than yours (I used super chunky yarn recommended for a 9mm hook, but used a 7mm, so he's about the size of my head...) But I love him! All you instructions were so clear and easy to follow, and I'm so happy I've found a new hobby!
You don't know how extremely happy I am that I can finally crochet something. I have been waiting for this moment for ever since I've gotten into crochet yay!? Thank you so much for being a good tutorial teacher!!!!
I’m gonna end up making too many of these and will most likely have to turn to my teachers to give them away like “hi I have too many bees, do you want one?” And pull a blanket off a wagon full of the bees
@@bethl.1908 Eliza has 30 bees in a wagon. They want to give away 15 to teachers and friends, and then keep the rest. How many does Eliza have left over? That made me laugh too hard lmao
My grandmother taught me a few basics in sewing when I was young and I’ll be delighted to show her that I’ve crocheted something other than a yarn chain for once!
I gave my friends granddaughters yarn and hooks about 3 years ago. 1 of 3 of the girls has been watching utube videos. I am so excited to see her this weekend and help her made this bubble bee. Thank you for doing this pattern. JAYDEN IS SO EXCITED. ❤️☺️❤️
I'm new at crochet, and I found this tutorial more than helpful. I'm just in middle school but I love doing cute crafts, so I decided to try out this new hobby. (Since my dad crochets hats anyways, he can maybe help me out.) Anyways, this is more than adorable and your tutorial is soo so helpful! Thank you so much, you got a new subscriber. I will be doing more of your crafts in the future. (Or should I say BEE doing?) Lol I'm so punny (honey ;)
You delivered big time. I decided I wanted to teach myself crochet and just happened upon this. Your video walked me through every step and having a magic ring, chain, single crochet, invisible decreases, increases, half double crochet, and double crochet, all in one easy to digest video, was genius. My wings need a little work (well, my whole bee does) but I am super delighted with my first attempt. Big thanks to you for taking the time to create this video.
Bro I’m making a collection of these cuties. I have the normal bee, strawberry bee, zombie bee (inspiration from a tiktok), kiwi bee, and I’m making a bee with a top hat right now Ima have an army by spring break >:))
Oh my God, thank you very much. You taught me how to do a magic circle, how to decrease a stitch and increase a stitch. I mean, I made my first amigurumi bumblebee ever...41 minutes are worth the while Thank you very much 💚
I watched this earlier today and I needed one! I went and bought the safety eyes and I just made him tonight lol. The cutest thing I have ever crocheted. I wish I could attach a photo. Thank you for this video you are a great teacher 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Great tutorial! I’m making the bee for my little sisters teacher, Ms Honey. She is known for her happy honey hive(her classroom) and I think this will make a cute addition to her class! Thanks! 🐝 I also hope that your skill and talent will encourage the younger generation such as myself to start getting into the amazing world of crocheting!
I’ve made two bees in under 2 hours thanks to this video. I’ll have a swarm of them by the end of this weekend. Thank you so much! Your videos help me so much. :)
Thank you so much for tutorial! When I first started crochet I made a tiny amigurumi bumblebee, and now I just finished an XL chubby bumblebee. Thanks to this tutorial it came out perfect for my 2 bumblebees 🐝
I love this tutorial so much! It’s fun and really easy to follow for someone who is just starting out. The only hiccup I had was with the eyes, I wasn’t able to find doll eyes in any shop in my area, so if anyone else has this trouble I recommend that you crochet your own by adding six single crochets in a magic ring, fasten it and then sew it onto your bee. I hope this helps and ty again for this tutorial.
2 days ago I decided I wanted to try out crocheting as a new hobby and today I have successfully completed this bee! There was definitely some difficulty but I had some experience with knitting to help with the learning curve! I hope to get better at this in the future! Thanks for a greatly detailed tutorial!🐝
I made my stitches too tight and I’m restarting my bee! It’s been a hard process as a beginner crocheted but I’m really determined and all the positive comments in the comments section and seeing people learn make me excited to keep trying. Hopefully it works out!!!
Hi! This was the first thing I ever crocheted. I remember playing back and searching up all the stitches, but I did it. A wonky bee was born. Now, two years later I’ve made lots of garment, amigurumis etc both knit and crochet and published my own patterns. It has become my life, so I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to this wonderful craft and community.
Thank you for this adorable tutorial! I made my first one and he is so cute and chubby! I just started on my second but instead of yellow and black I'm using a seafood green color and white! Tomorrow im going to the craft store to get pink to make a strawberry bee. I will recommend this tutorial to other amigurumi beginners it was very helpful and descriptive! Thank you!!!!!
Emma's Galaxy lol they are so cute tho😂 I've gotten much better at them so I started an Etsy shop! It's ShopColorfulCuties If you want to check it out!!!!
I just bought some HUGE yarn I'm gonna use for a bee (there wasn't enough at the store for a blanket), it might actually be as big as my torso when I'm done with it-
Hey!! I’ve never crocheted EVER. I watched your video and paused it to learn the stitch you said then went back and did what you said! The bee I made is absolutely adorable!! It is huge tho it can fit over my whole head but I love it!!! For anyone thinking they can’t do it because they don’t know how just try! The magic circle took some trial and error but after I got that down it was smooth sailing!! Any skill level can make this bee and this tutorial is the best one out there! Thank you!!
I can't wait until my hooks get here. I just got the yarn at the store. I am making this for my mom for her birthday so I will let you know how it turns out. BTW this is a very descriptive tutorial and you explain stuff very clearly. Thank You!!!!!!
I AM OBSESSED THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER MADE. Although I did use embroidery floss it still worked it was just a mini bee. I am so happy I had the materials to do this!
JUST did this after learning the basics and practicing my stitches and this has got to be THE BEST tutorial for a bumblebee that I got so far! It's so adorable and chubby!!
I had to make some adjustments because I was using up some Bernat Blanket yarn that I had leftover. He turned out super cute! My granddaughter asked me where is stinger was so, I decided to just wing it and made him a stinger! 🤣
What adjustments did you make?? I'm using bernat blanket yarn too, thought it would make the bee extra soft but it's so hard to see the stitches with how fluffy it is
Great tutorial! Im a kind-of beginner, I have a few months of crochet work, and I did this tutorial. I used super chunky yarn, and it still worked so well! I would recommend this is any crocheter, beginner or expert.
I havent even tried making this yet, just been watching but wow you're tutorials are so good, it's so satisfying just to watch. I've learnt hdc, dc, and how to change colours from this and the star, ive made a lot of stars and i find it satisfying to sew the stars together, thank you for your clear and easy to follow tutorials. I hope to see more amigurumi
I bought crocheting needles that came with a “how to crochet book” and I just practiced some slip stitches and single crochet. Then I went straight into making this :) tbh once you understand single crochet stitches you are pretty much golden for these tutorial videos !! I would suggest also getting/ using some sort of stitch marker, it makes things so much easier!! Especially for beginners like me :)
Raffy Morgan also just make sure your counting the stitches at the beginning and make sure you have number that is supposed to be in the round :) that’s where stitch markers come in handy, so you don’t lose we’re your round ended and where your new round of stitches begin :)
always start of with something small and basic, like a scarf! That way you get the hang of the stitches and it’s easier when you move onto projects like this.
@Faith R no that’s not the right answer girl you do you firt bee is not going to be perfect not wven the second one but with practice you can do everything
ive literally never crocheted in my life, I saw this, and said "mine." went out, bought all the stuff and made him within 2 weeks.. hes amazing and I love him. Highly recommend.
I just wanted to say thank you so very much for sharing this. Our school has a hornet as a mascot and when looking for this year's gift for some of our cheerleaders I came across this video. I made a couple of modifications, but it's thanks to how easy you made this look that I had the courage to actually make 60 bees as gifts for a group of girls from ages 4-12. The girls and coaches love them and I am quick to tell them it's all thanks to your video!
I've made two of your animals from your videos and they are the best! Robin- thank you for so thoroughly explaining the process. The bee came out ADORABLE!
You are a very good instructor, I have been crocheting for some years now but there’s a lot of the stitches that I didn’t know how to do. I have tried to follow a couple people of here and I could not make sense out of it. Thank you!
Finally done took me two days my first finished project your tutorial was by far the best beginner friendly plus it was a pretty fat bee Thank you for this video sincerely 💗
I do not normally post on videos. I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I have been practicing crocheting for a while and decided to try to make a bee (I still have issues with crocheting in squares so hope to watch and learn from more of your videos). Other videos say beginner friendly and as soon as I get done with the first part moving onto the next my counts always mess up. They used the slip stitch method and zero explanation on where you are starting your count on. I appreciate you showing and reminding to do the stitch marker as that helped ALOT on keeping my stitch count accurate so I do not have a lopsided bee. Your video was very clear and easy to follow. I can not wait to watch your other videos!!! ♥
Thanks for the tutorial it was my first time crocheting ever! I don’t even know the terms yet decided I could do this lol. I did have to slow down the video and it took me a little bit to get it started but overall not bad for a beginner. I do wish you would have finished the wings at the end since I’m a beginner it took me a bit to figure out what to do with ends but I ended up tying them together then weaving them.
@HookedbyRobin This is one of the BEST tutorials out there. Simple, crisp, easy-to-understand instructions. My bumble friend came out looking really great!!! Thank you sooooo much! Now you've got yourself another loyal follower. ❤❤
I personally used buttons for mine since the safety eyes I bought weren't big enough. The buttons worked perfect even though ya needed to do the extra step of sewing it on
I have tried to crochet a few times in the past and could never really get the hang of it. Since finding your channel, I have been slowly crocheting and I am so proud of myself. Thank you for being so amazing and such a great teacher. You are the best teacher I have found so far. ❤
Me who have never touched a thread in my life determined to make this bee after seeing it on tik tok 😌 Update: THIS TUTORIAL IS SO HELPFUL!!!I ACTUALLY DID IT THANKS TO THIS VIDEO!!SHE LITERALLY EXPLAINS ALL STEPS CAREFULLY
Im not here because of tiktok, im here because my friend messaged me knowing i crochet a lot with the tiktok says ‘omg can you make me this bee???’ And then i got all excited and made one 😂
This is my first completed project I’m giving it to my dad for his birthday tomorrow:) thank you so much I had yarn and a needle for so long but never was motivated to do it till now

WOAHHH THAT'S AMAZING WELL DONE
i just started a couple of days ago and i was wondering if you have any tips on how to make tight, put together stitches, without it being difficult to pull the hook through x

All my years of doing rainbow loom bracelets has prepared me for this.
God, give me the PATIENCE

I made those bracelets too and still can’t do this 😭✋🏻

This was my second ever crochet project! Although it was a little while ago and it didn’t come out perfect I’m still proud of it and it’s pretty cute. My mom now keeps it in her office next to her plant at work. Thank you for the tutorial, it was very thorough and I didn’t have a hard time understanding it!
13 y/o me on tiktok and seeing that crocheting is now becoming trendy and glad that my mom put me in crocheting classes when I was 6 like: 👁👄👁
Fr i been doin this stuff for like 2 years and its now coming in handy 👁👄👁
RIGHT OMG SAME
😂 I’m 13 to and just starting crochet again
I feel the same way, I keep seeing videos and am like glad my mom taught me that before it became “cool”. I’ve been crocheting since I was probably 10 and am now 24.
Haha I kinda with my mom did
This is amazing! All you instructions were so clear and easy to follow, and I'm so happy I've found a new hobby!
haha yay for giant bees!!
XD
You don't know how extremely happy I am that I can finally crochet something. I have been waiting for this moment for ever since I've gotten into crochet yay!? Thank you so much for being a good tutorial teacher!!!!
You’re so welcome, will you be making a mini bee too?😃🐝
I’m gonna end up making too many of these and will most likely have to turn to my teachers to give them away like “hi I have too many bees, do you want one?” And pull a blanket off a wagon full of the bees
LOL I laughed WAY to hard at this 😂😂😂
You're gonna be like the people in the math books lol
@@bethl.1908
Eliza has 30 bees in a wagon. They want to give away 15 to teachers and friends, and then keep the rest. How many does Eliza have left over?
That made me laugh too hard lmao
LOL I am the same way! haha

Thank you so much Denise and wonderful to read, the bee is such a cute one to make! 😀🧶
I learned more about crocheting in this video than in all of the past two years I have been (intermittently) trying to learn to crochet

Elizabeth Rubio oh I know I won’t! My grandma used to do it before she passed away. And it looks so calming
Aw thank you so much! What a wonderful comment to read - so glad it helped you! Xx
Bro I’m making a collection of these cuties. I have the normal bee, strawberry bee, zombie bee (inspiration from a tiktok), kiwi bee, and I’m making a bee with a top hat right now
Ima have an army by spring break >:))

Thank you very much 💚
I watched this earlier today and I needed one! I went and bought the safety eyes and I just made him tonight lol. The cutest thing I have ever crocheted. I wish I could attach a photo. Thank you for this video you are a great teacher 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

Out of all the amigurumi videos and channels out there. Your tutorials are my favorite because of how clear it is
I’ve made two bees in under 2 hours thanks to this video. I’ll have a swarm of them by the end of this weekend. Thank you so much! Your videos help me so much. :)
Oh no, now you are gonna need a queen
I just went to buy all the supplies. I’m new to crochet. I’ve watched the video 5 times. I’m ready.
You got this!
This is genius
I'm gonna use buttons for mine
I got my eyes off Amazon but this is a great substatute :)
Her voice is so relaxing and calm and it makes it fun to work with her video on. Nice one!
I made my stitches too tight and I’m restarting my bee! It’s been a hard process as a beginner crocheted but I’m really determined and all the positive comments in the comments section and seeing people learn make me excited to keep trying. Hopefully it works out!!!
You can do it!
Did you do it?
@@xitzmikaax2098 I did! I finished the bee body but never got around to finishing my wings.

Teaching my daughter how to crochet on this project. Thanks for this precious pleasantly plump bee.
This is the loveliest comment, thank you so much Linnea! 😃🥰🐝

Thats a lot of bees-

Totally gunna make him! Please do more amigurumi!
I AM OBSESSED THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER MADE. Although I did use embroidery floss it still worked it was just a mini bee. I am so happy I had the materials to do this!
wait that's actually really smart-
My mom gave me her knitting and crocheting supplies- I'm a digital artist, but this looks like such a fun project and I am determined to make this bee
I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet and now that it’s more trendy I have become even more determined to learn! 😅

i JUST GOT DONE MAKING THIS!!!!!!!!! MY almost 15 yr old daughter LOVED IT!!!!!! Thank you for showing how to make it!!!!
I made the bumble bee from the tutorial! It was the first thing i ever made! Now i love crochet!
Thank you so much 😊
i’m struggling to find the first stitches to stitch into, i haven’t crocheted before but i really wanna make this cute bee ):
Start with simples like magic Circle and chains
always start of with something small and basic, like a scarf!

I loved making this! I made some small adjustments for personal preference (like making stitched eyes) and he ended up adorable!
how many balls of yellow and black yarn did it use?
@@delphiprimrose3176 if you're not adjusting the size or anything, you should use less than one ball of each colour :)
What a wonderful comment, thank you so much! I’m so glad my video helped and I hope you enjoyed making your bee.😃🐝
I loved this pattern, thank you, it's lovely!
Never even thought of crocheting before and after watching this and "barrowing" my daughters supplies... I have my very own hand made bee!!!!

I tried to take the eyes from an old stuffed animal but it didn’t work out so I’m going to buy some
I personally used buttons for mine since the safety eyes I bought weren't big enough. The buttons worked perfect even though ya needed to do the extra step of sewing it on
for my eyes i just make a small crochet circle and sew it on
Thank you for this amazing tutorial !! So easy to follow
