Sleep in NWUs under sweats , on top of the sheets don’t use blanket, shave at night, wake up 20 min before reveille white socks under boot socks, learn to sleep standing up, study rank and recognition before boot, make friends w starboard watch, team work makes the dream work
Double socking was allowed in my division, if anything it's quite convenient from transitioning from NWUs to PT gear at freedom hall, and definitely saves your feet from blisters making marching and standing for inspections much more bearable. Also things may have been different back then but today if you call a master or senior chief just chief at boot camp they will chew your ass out. This applies mainly to the watch stander at that time and I recommend taking an extra second just to confirm if they got stars or not. Also if you really want a cheat for boot camp, if you got a dental appointment you'll be in that building for a couple of hours and things there are relatively chill compared to the rest of boot camp. But I realized is that once your appointment is done the dentist tells you to go to the front desk to check out, they go on their business and leave you alone. Rather than check out I blended in with other recruits waiting for their appointments and a snuck in materials to write letters with. Spent a good 2-3 hours that day being able to relax, clear my mind, and write some thoughts out. It's pretty easy to get away with but be warned I can't imagine the shit you'll be in if you do get caught.
regarding sleeping in basic training we got done with rifle range in week 3 one Sunday our drill Sgt saw us struggling to stay awake. He told us that "when he was in basic training "they had a watch out as a few other privates took a rest" nudge nudge wink. it blew our minds
1. Double sock one white one black for pt 2. Starboard watch can suck it I was roving watch all the time 3. Laundry Advice was good 4. Chief advice is good people like that you see every day so you know who the ship CS is. Word gets around in boot camp between RDC's, Master Chiefs are always being tracked and you'll know exactly when and how to greet them. 5. Attention to detail, attention to detail!!! Can't say this enough your section leaders are your go to, mine was a bad ass and always told me when I was fucking up
Huge tip! Some divisions will request or tell people to go to "Ship Staff". TAKE IT. VOLUNTEER FOR IT. I was asked by my RDC who wanted to do it. I volunteered. That came in CLUTCH! RDCs will remove all the people they can during inspections, such as those who suck at everything, those they can put on watch, those they can send to medical. Youll get out of most inspections, and you can possibly get out of a lot of PT! I even got extra meals because I would eat before attending ship staff quarters, and when I got done and had to return to my compartment, they were about to go eat, so I would get seconds! I became friends with Ship Staff Watch Coordinator, and got the easy job of temperature recorder and intercom announcer! Half my boot camp days would be spent away from my RDCs. It was chill!
Other cheats passed down from my own bootcamp Chief. You're only required to have 3 pairs of skivies/underwear out when inspected so have those 3 "display/inspection" skivies out that you NEVER touch and keep the rest that you use in your A&B drawer. Doubling up on socks is good, you can even wear your white socks (used during PT) underneath your boot socks so all you have to do is pull off one pair in order to change quickly. Keep your folded undershirts and skivies inside your rack on top of your A&B drawer at night that way it flattens them out even more.
PAPA! Love that man with a plan! And sweet DAUGHTER!!! Congrats on the new place, love your videos, super helpful for me, you're motivating me to go out and do and you're helping ease my fears about starting the whole process of joining the Navy. Watching all your videos and following all your tips and preparing way ahead of time is SO helping my anxiety and helping me strengthen the head game. I will not be a slave to my anxiety anymore.
JTsuits thanks fam! On the road from couch potato to fit n fresh! Losing weight studying up and running running running running because holy hell do I suck at it.
JTsuits I hear that! every day I push, run till I get that burn in my chest and the tingle in my jaw that says "stop now or face your peanut butter sandwich again" drink some water while walking quickly still then kick it back up to a run.
I liked your comment about taking responsibility if you mess up. I was working with three people in boot camp and we made a mistake. When we were questioned on it they threw each other (and me) under the bus. When they got done I looked at the Petty Officer and said I have no excuse, it will not happen again. That was all he wanted to hear!
GOD BLESS YOU JTsuits, i just want to say that your vlogs make me so happy. And they just cheer me up so much. I love you and your channel and what you do every time a new vlog is uploaded.
I love your vids bro ! I have your post notifications onnnn !🇺🇸 you inspire me to be in the navy . I use to wanna be army but just watching your videos make me wanna join navy . Thanks for the inspiration!!
My sister told me that exact same thing a few weeks ago about trying to distinguish a Senior from a Master Chief. She was always looking for the stars above the anchors and squinting in the process! haha
Didn't serve but it's great advice in general especially working in IT. Take responsibility own up to it don't try to lie or hide it cause it will only get worse and now your integrity is in question.
Marine bootcamp has some things too i call them tricks to make bootcamp easier. like the watch thing. i knew the guy who made the watch lists and he would always put himself on watch in the morning time. so he can eat breakfast with no stress. he was already dressed so the dressing games did not affect him. i went through without special treatments from hookups.
I was in the Marines and I find the Navy, Airforce, Basic training to be fascinating LOL. Unlike others I’m not going to knock it...looks like a good time! Yes Marine boot is 500 times worse in every possible way but that’s not for everybody hence “ the few”. I had a college degree in criminal justice when I joined and was “ supposed” to be Military Police. Well guess what...recruiter called one night after MEPS after I basically had it set in stone and said “ sorry man your gonna have to do 0311 infantry. And BTW you ship out next week the day after Christmas”. WTF I wasn’t supposed to ship until February!! So I had a weeks notice to ship out to Boot AND got screwed on the job I wanted after signing up with a college degree in that field. If I had joined the Navy or Air Force I probably would have got the MP job no problem. But I went to the Island and endured the hardest boot camp known to man and nobody gave a shit that I already had put the work in and earned a degree in the career field I chose. If anybody wants a “ job” after boot camp don’t join The Marines. 99% of the time your going straight to 0311 infantry no matter what they tell you. Not knocking the Corps...just telling it like it is
So, I was standing ship quarterdeck watch my first or second week, and three recruits who were 6 week or higher (you could tell back in the day due to the white guard belts worn after week 5) were drummed up to the chief of the ship office. One was sobbing, all three were shaken up. Their RDCs were livid, but not saying much, just contemptuous glares. Turned out they were doing the laundry PO nap trick you mentioned, and they were soooo busted. They were drummed into the chief of ship’s office and then quickly scuttled off only to come back with their p day sweats on and sea bags. They had gotten set back to pdays as punishment. Now, being on that watch I got to see all of the potential ASMOs or EMIs in our ship who had to stand in front of the man and get their punishment. The only issue, this was the first time, and it was by far the worst. I remember being so terrified and feeling awful for them. Some SRs from their division came to them and gave them addresses and phone numbers as they wouldn’t see them again. The chief of the boat even told them this is what happens when you fuck me, I fuck you back harder, or some awful RDC shit. Well, there’s a happy ending as they were only marched around and beat, and came back to their division. I’m sure this scared the hell out of them. Hec, it scared me. The only time I’d suggest catching a wink is on Sunday morning routine, assuming they still have that. No cadre is there, the forward watch challenging the RDCs will wake you up.
I took the advice in this video its legit... But! Double socking made the whole bottom of both my feet blister, if you double sock... only do it for 4 or 5 days at most to get your feet adjusted to the boots.
We had an amnesty hour after battlestations, one of my shipmates said that he slept underneath the bag after we got and heard one of my RDC'S come in and he didn't see him. Man I never saw someone sweat so much in my life
great video man. i just subsribed. your videos are helpful on how life is being a sailor. im planning to enlist. im just worried about a tattoo of an anchor i have on my forearm i had when i was younger.
If all I can make out are anchors that has some kinda star(s) I just say MasterChief. A Senior Chief will care much less about being called a MasterChief than the other way around.
Suites my man when u started out I said to u don't just say what's good bout navy tell the dark side to now u have make me proud u did God bless Jt and family always shipmates well done should be proud of U I am. People joining navy should know what there in for some can handle some can't but nobody can say they weren't informed something I didn't get going in no regrets. Your a star in my book remember what I say in low times cause it's from the heart and it's the cold blooded truth.
Hahahaha, I was the guy talking about the gas chamber on a comment for a previous video. I even said I was going to pepper spray myself but I just said that as a joke lmao.
Hey Bro your videos are awesome! Your info that you've thrown out has been a significant driving force in my decision to try and get into the navy. I was wondering if you had any advice for someone that's 30 trying to finish a 4 year degree to apply to OCS. I've dropped 70 lbs so far and still have about 80 to go but is there a way to work with recruiters as I'm preparing myself or is it just a come when you're ready kinda deal? I appreciate the vids and congrats on the baby boy!
Subscribed from Mississippi! Great videos broski! Have you ever met anyone from SWCC? I just enlisted and I'm interested in eventually trying out. They seem pretty badass.

I've been asking these on some of your recent live streams. I know that the chat moves very quickly and you may not be able to see them and whatnot. So, I'll ask you here. Why'd you decide to go with the navy over other branches? Also, do you anything about the NROTC route? If so, then how hard is it to get in the last two years of NROTC without doing the first two years? Is it still possible to do this? My current college doesn't have ROTC, but that's how I want to enter the military. Do you still have to go to a summer seminar thing if you don't do the first two years? Finally, does the navy also use the DLAB test for people going into language careers in the military?
Also, for the chief “cheat:” I would say call them senior chief if you can’t tell. It’s better to give the chief a promotion than a demotion, and if it was one of the bad senior chiefs and you mess up their ranks, you’ll get a whole ass whooping.
Nobody in my division wore those terrible skivies, the shorts they issued basically had built in boxers. Also I was laundry po and slept on those damn bags all the time😂😂
Sleep in NWUs under sweats , on top of the sheets don’t use blanket, shave at night, wake up 20 min before reveille white socks under boot socks, learn to sleep standing up, study rank and recognition before boot, make friends w starboard watch, team work makes the dream work

my rdcs even told us to double sock
Sir_Clovis listen number one don't get cought play it easy and safe.
Just recently graduated boot camp. To this day my RDCs still don’t know who I am 😂 kept a very low profile
Any tips bro?

I've been asking these on some of your recent live streams. I know that the chat moves very quickly and you may not be able to see them and whatnot. So, I'll ask you here. Why'd you decide to go with the navy over other branches? Also, do you anything about the NROTC route? And taking out the A&B drawer to put papers under it was the biggest cheat I had during boot
i thought that was common practice for your orders packet. wasn't until 3 weeks in i realized others didn't know it existed.
Our RDC’s made double socks mandatory.
You made me start watching the office
Also, for the chief “cheat:” I would say call them senior chief if you can’t tell. It’s better to give the chief a promotion than a demotion, and if it was one of the bad senior chiefs and you mess up their ranks, you’ll get a whole ass whooping.
Nobody in my division wore those terrible skivies, the shorts they issued basically had built in boxers. Also I was laundry po and slept on those damn bags all the time😂😂
Wear the white socks under the black socks so you can change into your running shoes faster
Cheat 1, doubling up socks is okay but I got 2 packets of Dr Soles and double up on them when you put them in your boots.
"Attention on Deck!" ... Belay my last SENIOR Chief! " Don't mix up a sc chief and an officer just a tip haha
Our CC had us double socked to prevent blisters, it was required.
