The Porsche 928 has an easy clutch as well. You remove a plate from the bottom of the bellhousing, undo two bolts, and the driveshaft telescopes backwards. Then you undo three clutch bolts and the whole assembly drops down in your hands. An experienced mechanic can do a clutch job on one of these in about one hour.
Too bad that only about 15% of 928's were equipped with manual transmissions....
    Great video!

My 928S was a manual and I wished it was an automatic. I did not care for the dog-leg shift pattern. It was a PITA going from one car to the other with different shift patterns. Plus, I'm tired of shifting now, probably all my future cars will be automatics anyway. If I could afford a vintage 911 I would get a manual, but a modern 911 would definitely have a PDK.

Opel/Vauxhall front wheel drive cars of the 1980's did an amazing piece of engineering on their vehicles to change the clutch without taking the transmission out. The fitted a cover in the bell housing that you would remove then press the clutch pedal whilst a 2nd person would put steel clips to hold the pressure plate closed. 6 or 8 bolts later clutch out in 10 minutes new one fitted, job done. :)

I could change the clutch and timing belts through the wheel wells in the 328 also. It was a practical car and it was my daily driver and I loved leaving it covered in dust and dirt - people got so upset.

At 8:00 the alternator is not charging, likely because the brushes and slip rings have motor oil on them. Degreasing might fix it. BUT, Don't squirt Brake Kleen in it while it's on the car running! Seems like a time/labor saver but it isn't. They don't make a flame throwing pinwheel effect everytime, but when they do it sucks. Not every lesson needs to be learned by experience.

Great to see progress on the ancient Italian machine - and great to see your employees having some camera time. Also - hope the other dude who left - soon finds a replacement. The BAD WIZARD phrase should be put on a T-shirt - along with the graphical wizard face from the intro - and a leaf of cannabis... in a Ferrari shield (instead of the horse). Here in Latvia I've seen two times stickers on old Volvos - yellow stickers formed like the ferrari shield - but instead, the text (in Ferrari font, of course) says VOLVORATI or something - and there're a moose - or an elk (god only knows the difference) instead of the prancing horse. So the final pitch for the T-shirt goes like this: Wizard's face from the intro - along with the huge glasses - in background, and in front of that - huge yellow Ferrari shield with a cannabis leaf inside - formed somewhat like a horse - and the text BAD WIZZARI in ferrari testarossa font underneath. Millions in profit in one week. Cease and desist letter from Ferrari in the next.

I don't know why most companies use a chain rather than gears because there's less parts with gears and they last longer, unless the reason is because they last longer that there's planned obsolescence. I suspect that to use gears you need the right metal mixture to get a good tough gear.

If the alternator is bad, you can DEFINITELY figure out a replacement which will be better for far less.

Great to see a bright future ahead for this little monster. It got me thinking about converting my 4 carb motorcycle engine to injection, those eighties 4 cylinder engines run so poorly on clogged carburetors. And I am sick and tired of repeatedly disassemble and clean carbs over and over again. Anyone did a conversion?

have you ever had your carbs balanced? if they are CV carbs have you replaced the diaphragms? those old 4 cylinder 4 carb bikes absolutely scream, no need for injection

Look at Austin/Morris Mini, ADO 16,Austin Maxi and other front wheel cars from UK in the 60s and 70s even more easy. A did a clutch swap on a Maxi ona parking in about 30 min. So easy.

The 308 is one of the best video series. Now the flywheel appears to have 2 large cracks on the face or are they just each a groove. So obviously it hasn't any cracks or you would have said so but it looked like it. I am just curious. Cheers.
