26:44 "Dude people are so anti-syrup in the chat right now" Cristine and Ben: "Are we a joke to you?" Also, Saf, was that syrup Cristine approved or is she going to be judging you for the choice?
I can confirm that Cristine was disappointed in Saf’s syrup choice. She was streaming when Saf and Tyler’s ended and a lot of people came to that live stream and it was discussed 😂

Here in western NY, we have one at Genesee Country Village and Museum where you can walk through the woods and see how syrup was produced both historically and also the modern process. More than once they’ve let me drink sap straight from the trees...it pretty much tastes like water...they have to do a lot of boiling to make it syrup!
Safiya, Little Shop of Horrors was a musical before the movie. The movie was made just a few years after the show debuted! Amazing for an off Broadway production. :)
The original Little Shop of Horrors was a black and white film from the 60's. The musical and movie remake came out in the 80's, which you are correct about, the musical came out before the remake.

My mum makes this awesome tomato soup, which to be balanced we sweeten with apples often. Similarly, you can make an awesome caramelized tomato sauce by using predominantly (if not 100%) tomato paste with red wine in either a crock pot or pot on low simmer alll day long (heck even overnight). To make a tomato syrup, I’d do some sort of combo of the two and reduce it (simmer) over multiple days so it caramelizes and the sugars are brought out. The same idea is used to make apple butter, which is essentially apple sauce that has been simmer for a veeeeery long time. Perhaps this is a moot point now, but I thought I’d share as I know it would be yummy (also now you know how to make the tangiest tomato sauce ever!!). All the best guys! 😊
