This week we’re continuing our bad makeup science experiment from the main channel and making a couple of our own custom lipsticks live! We’ll be trying to recreate some of the lip colors you guys suggested, and hopefully minimizing the amount of math we have to do along the way.

That blue/green is for sure the color of slytherin. Also Swampthing to go with the swamp theme. Galaticus.

I feel like that gold will show very nicely on a darker skin tone or a paler skin tone but Tyler has that warm off-peach tone with red undertones that kinda matches a little too well with the bronze colors in the gold.
Someone in the live chat said it made him look like his lips had been badly photoshopped off and I lost my shit 😂😂 poor Tyler, this really shows how important skin tone is for making or breaking a look

I absolutely love the amount of pop culture references that Safiya and Tyler use during these streams and their videos. Whenever I understand what they are taking about it brings me joy
If you wanted to do a “true” Franken-pigment, you could just scale up the amount of base you use to accommodate 1/32 of all of the pigments

Yeah use 10 or 15 or even more grams of the base and make like 3 or more lipsticks.
I as thinking they could just mix everything in equal amounts and use the coffee grinder so it’s all mixed THEN measure out that 7/16ths that they need to mix with the base. That would be the Franken mix then.. you go big then just use the amount you need.
I think cristine did the same thing with her teas. Mixed a set amount of it all. Shake. Then take what you need to make the thing? Iunno lol just a thought.
All the colors are something I would want; but that Gold is something I have been looking for since the 1999 The Mummy film.

You should save the lipstick butts in some container like Christine and her nail bag and when you have enough melting together to make another lipstick.
For marbling lipstick, it sounds like a paint pouring split cup is what you’re looking for. Some have a narrow spout that would help when filling the mold.
No. It's not that simple with lipstick. Would really even work with paint as they're filling a tube and not pouring over a flat surface. Too much unwanted mixing would happen.
unfortunately those are all made of 3d printed plastic that says you shouldn’t heat it! lol - so we’re looking for something smaller and either metal

Or would it work to have the lipstick mixture not as fluid? I'm just thinking that when using resin, to get the colors to not mix you should let it sit for a little bit.

Hey I've also had my ears cleaned clinically lol. I failed a hearing test in highschool twice and I had to go to an ENT and they took out a chunk of wax that was the shape of my ear canal lol. It's so refreshing to have them clean and hear so easily lol
To be honest I wasn't very interested in watching your streams up until now even though whenever you guys upload on your main channel, I watch that sh*t immediately! But NOW I figured out why: I am missing the fun jazzy music in the backround, that you would normally have. I found the fix! I let a video with jazz music play simultaneously in a different tab and it really works for me! :D Also this stream was really fun

Because tyler’s “weird” earwax has been a topic in two or three streams now, I’d like to infodump about the issue (beware general grossness in rest of comment):
earwax consistency is largely determined by genetics: people of East Asian descent have a particularly higher chance of having hard and dark, dry ear wax, but people of other descent can have it too by sheer genetic lottery. Further, anyone can have a higher than normal wax production rate which means your regular cleaning mechanism (chewing and talking -> moves the ear canal a bit, wax then slowly moves outward and drops out on its own) fails at cleaning out all of it, leading to slow buildup. Age (the older you get, the harder the wax), and skin issues (like common dry skin, eczematic disorders -> the more dead skin cells your ear wax has to remove, the drier it’ll get before reaching the exit even if it starts out perfectly normal) are two other factors. Ear anatomy (ear canal having a “siphon” dent somewhere in the lower half of the canal) and wax collecting there rather than being swept out over time through chewing, talking and other jaw movements can also play a role in wax not cleaning itself out as it should and building up instead.
The solution to all of these potential causes is to have a doctor clean it out regularly, even before the big clog happens, just to have a nice maintenance routine (DIYing = high chance of hurting your skin or eardrum, or making it worse through clogging it up further and/or causing infection, so don’t!). If your doc recommends it, you can also help soften up your earwax with certain types of ear drops, or keep the ear canal less dried out and the earwax more on a slippery surface by embalming your ears with some types of oils. But in itself, there’s nothing “abnormal” or “sick” about hard, dark and cloggy ear wax in the strict sense - it’s just a human variation that sometimes causes some issues, and not super rare either.
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor so take no medical advice from me. I am, however, a former competitive swimmer (=used to have super dry skin in my ears thanks to being in chlorinated water all the time) with skin eczema in the ear (thanks allergies!) and a siphon-shaped ear canal on one side -> aka affected myself.

Yeah! I am also an earwaxy person (I'm a white girl but mine is dark, sticky and hard to excavate, so it's obnoxious) and it's always like a little relieving to know it's not just me. 😅
@@MaiseNow Same! I'm also an earwax filled human. My doctor actually recommended that I use mineral oil once a week to help remove it because it builds up so quick 😅.
I felt seen when he talked about the water ear machine thing at the doctor. I have had to do that before because my ears are just super waxy.
I use jojoba oil. I don't really have a problem with wax, but dry and itchy ear canals, which drive me to distraction. It's a little squirt bottle bought from the pharmacy called Otocur. Recommend, if your country has it. 👍

Besides the other suggested method to increase the amount of base, you can also scoop 1/32 of all pigments, put in a grinder to ensure even mixing, then scoop out the required pigment amount for 1 base?

@@HeatherMayo I think it's more likely that Saf is just one of those people that can only focus on one or two things at a time. My husband is one of those people and he will literally not process that some one is speaking if he's reading/looking at something.
Guyssss to make a marble-ish lipstick you can put each color in a piping bag and then all the piping bags together inside a bigger one, and kinda swirl it while you're filling the molds. There are piping bags made of silicone or other materials so they dont burst if the wax is too hot. I use this technique to make rainbow cupcakes all the time 👀
i think the gold lipstick would look good on someone with a dark skin tone, because it'd really pop. on tyler it just kinda blends along with his skin and it's hardly noticeable

@@emmaboyce8730 yeah. This particular stream, there was one person who just kept posting that they, "will keep posting this until Safiya says [their] name." There was someone else early on who was spam posting, but they stopped. There's always at least one, every stream.

There's also a way to set up NightBot, which can display commands, block certain words or phrases, and prevent all caps and emoji spam.
Like one mod and a properly calibrated NightBot would be more than enough for this chat.

Love the movie night live stream idea! The it’s a southern thing Chanel did it where they picked a movie and they just started the movie at a specific time and had the movie playing off screen and listened to in on headphones so the audience can only hear their commentary and not the movie, but we could start the movie at the same time and watch along with them.
I'm loving these streams! They are so fun to watch and I always look forward to them :)

Actually, once, _many_ moons ago, I watched a video where they (I can’t recall if it was one of Saf’s videos or if it was a Ladylike video. Perhaps they both did it. 🤷🏻) made lipstick out of crayons and a couple other simple ingredients and I just HAD to do it. So I did. Fast forward to me having, like, 12 shitty, but very fun colored “lipsticks” (They most certainly weren’t in any sort of stick form. LOL.) sitting around in random containers.
It was fun, but it was pretty wasteful. It would make an AWESOME activity for a slumber party though. As long as an adult is able to be there and deal with all of the heating parts!

This is indeed a Loki-ish color story. Green with gold tend to be Loki's colors and blue would be Tesseract. I probably wouldn't wear it on my lips (perhaps as nail polishes).

Have you guys thought about making the 3 part pouring device 3d printed? Theres tons of people out there that can help and it's not that expensive. And 3d printing is pretty easy for beginner level stuff. (I've seen a lot of paint and soap making mixer stuff 3d printed)
This is definitely the most fun livestream out of all that you have produced!
I know Saf said she came into this feeling kind of “off”, and that there was a lot of set up and math involved in preparation for this Stream, so I really appreciate all that.
This stream was as enjoyable as a specially produced videos from your main channel, though this was different in that we got to see the back and forth between you and Tyler and Carly etc. and the raw responses to how this was going in the minute it was happening, were very refreshing and entertaining!
I love how you are doing a gold and a darker bluish green, which coincidentally are the exact same colors I just reorganized my room around.
For a franken could you potentially split the colors into different sticks then take a little bit from each stick to melt together? Like add 7 different colors per lipstick, then melt a little of each stick that makes into the franken. Love watching these streams back, keep up the great work!

My husband experiences the same thing as Tyler with the earwax. Gets it professionally cleaned out every 4-6 months. It’s mostly one ear that gets real bad but boy it’s so easy to tell when it starts clogging up. I tend to start repeating myself more often or not being heard at all 😂 still love him tho ♥️
My right ear blocks up and my left doesn't. When it happened last it was so bad I thought I was actually going deaf in that ear

Omg shipping the lipstick to the Himalayas 😂 I did my study abroad in Bhutan. My mom sent me a care package with an emergency medication and a bag of Halloween candy. Shipping cost $50 so I’m shocked a little lipstick cost double but it was 6 years ago so I guess prices have gone up 😬 Or it could depend on the country idk. I wonder where they sent it. People usually recognize Nepal but when I say Bhutan I usually get a confused look until I say “in the Himalayas.”

You should make a base with a couple drops of hyaluronic acid in it to make it a bit moisturizing to help absorb the moisturizers in the base formula
