In this stream, we’re gonna be melting together all of the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder candles to create one franken-candle (yes, they actually made and released these). Will it actually smell like a real Quarter Pounder? Will anyone survive the smell?

HELLO FRIENDS!! here is our re-posted livestream from last week! so sorry it took us a while to get it up, we were kind of messing around with ~what~ exactly the style of these re-posted streams should be, and we settled on "mostly unedited, but some fixes here and there". so a few disclaimers -- so sorry about the audio buzzing! we are working on that and hopefully should be solved asap. and, if you see any jump cuts -- we did edit out some big audio buzzes that we could cut out, and we cut some long pauses with dead space. other than that, this is basically the whole stream! captions should be up ASAP. our plan going forward is to re-post these faster, this is just our first one and we're still figuring everything out! hope to see you all at our stream tomorrow at 5pm eastern :). xoxo, saf

They have such a loving connection and I hope that someday soon some of the anxiety that has stemmed from the hateful things people have told her can start to melt away

She said some people commented about that in some oldish videos and it made her feel bad and self conscious even though Tyler said he doesn’t care and that she isn’t really doing it in a bad way... i think it’s cute when she stops herself because it shows she really cares about him, but it also makes me feel sad because she’s so self conscious because of those nasty comments

Saf - i think many viewers could tell that you were pressed during this livestream! Stressed about all the details being perfect, that you’d thought of all the shots you had to take before melonballing the candle, that the audience would be entertained at every single point, that you looked presentable, that lighting/sound would be uninterrupted at all times... Honestly it stressed me out a little seeing you so stressed out!
As a viewer, please take it from me - those of us who watch livestreams do NOT expect the same level of polish a regular video would have. It’s live tv! Things happen. As long as you two are having a good time and things are RELATIVELY on schedule, it’s ok! We gotta improvise at times. So please don’t worry. I HATE watching livestreams and i only watch this because... it’s you guys and I like any content from y’all. Please don’t stress too much over the small details during the stream!

I noticed during the live that Safiya was a little uncomfortable and I think it’s because she’s a perfectionist and wants everything to go right and do well, and seeing all of the comments about the buzzing and her body and stuff was kinda stressful. I don’t want to assume, but if that was the case... Saf, if these are adding more pressure and making you feel insecure... don’t do them! Okay? I think there might be a lot of guilt about “”””delayed”””” content or whatever. Don’t! We don’t care how often you post, we will keep on being here. Don’t feel like you need to produce anything if it’s harming you.
And for the fans watching: keep in mind what your comments are! Don’t ever comment about someone’s appearance, that’s so rude. Don’t ask them to share something if they don’t freely volunteer it. And if you saw a problem, they already noticed, don’t keep repeating it! Imagine the stress of looking at that chat and ALL you see is “buzzing”, WE GET IT! And it wasn’t even that bad
Well said! I do have to admit that there are a few things that made me *wonder* about the possibility of happy news in the future, but I would never be rude like that. Stress does awful things to us and it could just as easily be that.
Either way, it's Their business. I know that this past year hasn't done me any favors and I wouldn't want anyone pointing it out on any level, let alone a huge social media platform.

Totally agree. If I was in Saf’s position I would feel really stressed out because I would be afraid of fans getting mad. But here I am on the fan end laughing because of all the buzzing. It’s totally fine with me honestly and it’s also their first stream so problems are bound to arise

i'm just gonna go with how i feel, but i think a lot of people might agree with me? i'm autistic and the way safiya enunciates every single syllable of a word and the general way in which she talks is actually really helpful to me. it makes me concentrate so much more and i actually understand and process what is being said. it also makes her sound very intelligent and like old-timesy, which i think is really cool. i also love the tone of her voice. it's like the opposite of annoying. i just love listening to her. they're also both very good with words, the flow of their speech feels incredibly natural. it's an all-round pleasant experience to watch and listen to their content and i think that a livestream really showed how good they are and how non-forced it felt too.
EDIT: i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who likes and comments. this is genuinely such a nice experience. i've rarely felt this understood in an online space and it's a small thing, but i have gotten some ableism thrown my way before, so the opposite of it and actually relating to and interacting with other neurodivergent people and just having this small space right now feels very nice. thank you all!

I think my favourite thing about this is how just genuinely loving and authentic they are. This isn’t different to their edited videos, which honestly I love a lot. Two professional, eloquent, educated, funny and loving humans sharing their time with the world. Keep doing what you do - you’re amazing!

Saf's mic plug isn't fully seated in the box, that's why it's buzzing when she moves certain ways :) Hope it helps!

They say 100% British & Irish beef in the U.K., but the patties are also stated as 100% beef patties with no other ingredients

Its crazy to think that in all that hour and twenty nine minutes of footage, only a few candles were melted. Safiya has a video melting...countless candles into a relatively short video on her channel. how many hours that must have taken, oh my gosh, I don't even want to ponder.
They said it took them four days To do all the bath and Bodyworks candles but they’re also stopping to talk about the candles & other things in between scooping them as well
Yeah they did a lot of talking and entertaining in this one, whereas in the bath and bodyworks safiya could just do a montage and voiceover and get through faster
I can tell that Safiya calms Tyler's anxiety just by being there. At times he seemed super anxious just by his body language and then she'd make him laugh and his body loosened up. ❤😫
It seems like they calm each other down, Saf seems anxious she will do something “incorrectly” even tho she’s doing amazing, Tyler acts as though he is just stressed about just being there. The chat is 100% adding to their stress. Rewatching this in the first time In a while so yeah ❤

I got second-hand anxiety every time they got in their head about the technical issues (buzzing, window, things making noise outside). Just ignore them and go on with the show, most people will not even notice the issues if you don't point them out ❤️

The comments saying stuff about the mic were way more annoying than any issues with the mic. The bad buzzing was literally only for a little while at the beginning and I swear the people complaining can hear air cons or their owner washing machine from the other room 🙄

I read Saf’s blog post, and watching her videos since then has made me so angry at people for criticizing her. In the blog post she said people were apparently critical of the way she treated Tyler (not sure why, they obviously love each other..), which I think shows up in this livestream. She keeps apologizing for micromanaging. I’ve been married for 10 years, I micromanage my husband too and it’s not because I want to, it’s because it’s an unfortunate necessity. He’s not as good at multitasking as I am, probably because I’m a woman and he’s a man. 🤷🏻♀️ That’s just how it is.
It just bums me out that she feels the need to change herself because other people are assholes.
I have loved Safiya since the second I saw her in my recommended. I think she’s so smart and funny and kind and it really drives me crazy that people would rather try to make her change than just be adults and not watch her content if they don’t like the way she talks or the way her relationship works. Ugh.
Still, it’s great to see more stuff from them. I’ve missed their crazy hijinks.
At this point I’m just waiting for Safiya and Tyler to release their own candles

I think the asterisks on the “100% Fresh Beef” is so they can say, this _candle_ does not contain any beef.
Also, I think they are soy candles, and that’s why they are soft and sticky.

Im pretty sure its because "100% fresh beef" is a claim and not just a food product. If they'd called it "beef" they wouldn't need to use the *. When you use a claim it has to have support/documentation behind it, but since this is the name of the candle they aren't actually claiming the candle is 100% fresh beef they have the *

I think this video was just a beautiful example of a couple in love in their every day. How he looks at her, how she communicates with him. They are just so cute together.

To Saf and Tyler: KFC does, in fact, have a video game. It's a dating sim. They tried to make Colonel Sanders hot. No idea if it is actually available on the KFConsole, but it is a thing, somehow. And, in another instance of Colonel Sanders trying to be hot, they also made an approximately 15 minute Christmas romcom with Lifetime. KFC does some strange stuff.

Hey you guys! Quick tip from someone that took a deep dive into candle making and ruined a lot of candles ... you can't melt wax with fragrance oils at a super high temp or you'll burn off all of the scent and ruin the wax. Get a candy thermometer for next time and monitor the temperature. Thumbs up though I love all of the frankenscience!

I used to work at McDonald’s, the quarter pounder is the only fresh meat, they actually make it when you order, the other burgers on the other hand are premade and put into heaters

Probably why it's more ideal to order burgers requesting an ingredient change. I don't like pickles or mustard, so I always order without pickles and mustard.
