He knows when to slow his speech to make emphasis on a statement, and when to speed it up to emphasize that he knows what the hell he’s talking about. He doesn’t slouch, and often stands (or sits) straight up, so he becomes very imposing, even if he’s not the tallest person in the room. As for the reading of people, some people can read body language very very well.
IMHO, the dude who plays butcher ruins everything he's in. The only reason he didn't ruin LoTR was he was under too much costume and barely spoke. I'm happy for him he found this role that actually suits him. Hopefully, they don't ruin the show completely this season.
