What are some good Ga companies
The link doesn’t show my much it cost it leads to a subscription
I'm with Kelly. You can never have enough AC outlets!
she looked pissed
I've been a builder for many years and have seen quite a fair bit of sheds. The plans in ryan's package ruclips.net/user/postUgkxB7IXYxLzb_Ichhe45zM3Im5xfEiSp9vB have some of the nicest looking sheds i've seen in a while.
I love the pride in his product he oozes out when he talks about it
So true!!
Awesome tip for the outside nail issue. Going to inspect my shed and fix any issues I see. Appreciate this video!
As someone who lived in one for 5 years, the biggest issue was condensation. Tiny homes must have a HRV or they need sufficient heat/AC capacity to overcome constant freash air exchange.
Correct! I did put that in a video I made a couple years ago, “6 Mistakes to Avoid Before Converting a Shed into a House”.
Gotta have Heat/AC minisplits AND gotta have dehumidifiers
HRV? Ty
@@moiraflint yea…. I didn’t understand what that was either. Haha. I just saw “condensation” I and said YUP!!!!!
@@moiraflint The Heat Recovery Ventilator home ventilation system installed in your roof space creates positive air pressure* in your home to reduce excess moisture. It also helps to improve your home's indoor air quality by filtering most of the common airborne asthma and allergy triggers from the incoming vented air.
@@kaebella2259 a pot belly stove would be good running up the middle
The loft joist were just nailed to the studs and need to be supported with jack studs.
No hurricane ties
No plates to protect all the wiring on the studs.
It's almost like building codes exist to keep people from dying or something.
Without hurricane ties and idiot's putting in insulation the building will collapse. They'll learn a costly lesson.
Absolutely correct!
His quality checks are great and good for business
So true! Thank you!
Better Together Life as
Lovely video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one of a kind product for building better sheds and woodworking without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate finally got excellent success with it.
great customer service and great quality representation of this company..when i'm ready, i will go through them
Enjoyed. Things are looking good. Cant wait to see it on the property. God bless your family.
One thing to consider is a plug outlet on the outside of the building and even maybe a faucet outlet as well. A lot of people don't think about that when electricians install
Yes we do have that for the outside outlet, but I chose to not install an outside faucet. It just didn’t make since for us compared to where all our of faucets are in this area.
But you are absolutely correct!
Good point. I asked the same question.
Thank you, many don't touch nail holes for sure. This gentleman is wonderful!
Awesome video and very informative 👍👍 I also like the extra quality assurance inspections 👌
Thanks for the video, now I know who to call when I get a quality shed to house.
Pretty slick. If I got one of those I would pop the windows and frame them three to four inches out, add three to four inches of rockwool over the siding, ad moisture barrier, one inch furring strips and metal, cement, or even cedar siding. That and 16 inch eaves and a solid foundation and it could be pretty comfortable.
Thank you for the educational tour of a professionally built shed to 🏠 house. I enjoyed listening to all of the tiny details that make a huge difference in the quality of the building.
Having extra outlets in a building is so much better than having extension cords with multiple plugs.
I wish we had this kind of building back here in Brazil. The only part I'm in doubt is why the breaker box isn't calked? Water always find a way, specially in this unprotected wall. But sure, I would buy one of this to live in. It has the perfect size and in some way, it is expandable (with porch).
That's an awesome looking shed! Definitely want one 🙂. Throw some metal plates over the electrical through holes on the studs before putting on the finish wall covering though. Would suck to put a nail or fastener through a wire.
Yes I agree, I wish I would have done that. It would have saved me a lot of time and worry when I installed the shiplap walls.
This is the 1st time I've seen the tie down straps go that far up the side AND the overhang on the roof.
Thanks for showing me/us. 🖐😀
👍🏻
Wow amazing quality and standards! Beautiful work. Do you mind giving us rough cost for something at this stage prior to the foam? Also, can't wait for that video as well. Thanks
Good hints for a ‘Shed to house build‘ (or) ‘refurbishing/rescuing an older shed‘.
For sure!!
Truly appreciate the information on what look for and notice 😊
Oh, that is a great idea. Mrs and I were just talking about getting some sheds and converting them into small homes so that way when our children or family members come to visit they will not be comfortable enough to stay as long. haha, Now we just need the land to start homesteading.
thanks for sharing.
Nakid Gardeners! Oh! I’m so glad to see y’all here. Your posts on the homestead event were so fun to follow on IG. And love that y’all got to head to Jess and Miah’s. The shed to house model really makes room to create more of a community with friends or family either just for visiting or longer term. I think that’s a great way to look at it. Best of luck as you find your place! Please keep us posted!
@@BetterTogetherLife yes it is a great idea. And it is close to our hometown, Killeen, to visit their warehouse. Very interested in this.
Looking forward to watching the rest of this journey! That quality inspection was excellent!
Just posted a sneak peak in my IG Stories! @bettertogetherwife
Oh this is definitely the company I'm going to use to build my shed home. You can tell how much he cares about his customers!
Oh wow this is so AWESOME to hear!!!!
Very interesting walk around it looks like they have every intention of producing a top quality product. Especially the overhang on the Gable ends that gets the water away from the building. The only additional thing I would do is give the building a coat of primer paint, patch and caulk after that and then put a finish coat of paint over all of that. A very large extra step that will add to the cost.
The LP siding and trim comes primed from the factory.
I definitely will buy from him on my next build.
You will not regret it!!
Great and very helpful video. Wish we had an over hang on our loft windows. The quality and care they give to their customers seems to go above and beyond. I’ll have to keep them in mind for any future projects or painting. Thx for the share!!
Thank you for a great comment!!! And yes, this is an amazing company for sure!
Better Together Life Are they here in Texas? I might have missed that detail lol
@@karabatts8726 Yes, in TX. But where in TX? I've seen United Bldg in or near Greenville, but I don't know if it's actually the same company. WISH I KNEW!
@@BetterTogetherLife I really enjoyed and appreciate this video. Better Together Life did the tour above and beyond in letting potential customers get a behind the scene as to the building of their sheds. I would love to know the cost of this size shed and configurations? Also I would love to know if being close to the ground would be a problem from rain, or insects eating it or deteriorating? I thought Home Depot or Lowe's would be places to purchase a shed to build to be for living. But after seeing this video, I would talk with Better Together Life to have mine built. Much love for creating a building with quality in mind. I hope to hear from you.
Considering this option later in life. Sounds fab!
Nice shop. Where I live most rain falls straight down and having an overhang keeps the walls dry. I like to chalk line when I wire something. I’m just finishing my 3rd owner builder in 20 years. The first one was an off road off grid house.
This is the first I have seen the quality of a building and I been on the internet for over a week I am definitely going with this company with no doubt
So really, thanks for doing videos like this.
Well THANK YOU soooooo much!!!
Seems like it would be nice if they'd offer spray foam from the factory. Lower cost and, because it is built in a climate controlled shop, they can use it year round. Would also offer structural rigidity to the building for when it is being moved and installed on site.
United Portable Buildings does offer this service before your building is delivered ! 👍
Would need to be plummed and wired first
@@rhvondalaunsby35 - True.
If you're doing shed to home. You need to insulate after plumbing and electric. Or you will be ripping insulation out to accommodate it
You obviously don't know about how a house is built, the plumbing and electrical need to go in the walls before you spray foam
I'd love to see a shed to office conversion with some neat looking "battlestations".
A quality company, knowledgeable and take pride in their work. Certainly worth paying more for this level of quality, will be cheaper for the customer over the long-haul.
hope the the company i order from do as good as a job. great inspection. i will do my own before painting my shed lol.
Nice shed this is way I built my cabinet shop, quality is in the details !
Love it!
These guys are great! I wish they were in my part of the country!
I know, I wish they could serve more states. Perhaps someday!
What about nail plates over where the electrical goes thru a stud? Seems it would be necessary for some areas codes. I guess it could be an added option.
Very informative video ! Loving this company .
It is true..... United Portable Buildings quality is second to none!
It's so easy to put on a good show.
Awesome video, it's always quality for me when purchasing anything, thanks for the knowledge, I will be in contact with that company.
If there is one thing they could do differently is, adding 2x4’s under the 2x6’s supporting the loft. I know the center wall helps but the side walls of the loft the nails are holding the sheer strength and that is not good over time. But over all the shed looks to be a good quality shed.
I work at twin city barns in west tn we have caulked the eaves and everything on the barn for 40 year, just saying there is another one doing it lol
I'm in Tennessee and hopefully you are close to me because I definitely want to check you out.
This gave me so much information to look at when purchasing my very own shed! Thank you so much for this
Glad it was helpful!
Great person to do business with Mr.Casey Wiggins.
This was a great informative video.👍
Best video on shed-to-home EVER! In the future I'm looking to have a tiny home and seriously looking into shed-to-home especially since I'm in Tx! Very helpful video, thanks ! Blessings ~Sidney
So glad it was helpful! We have a LOT of shed to house content ❤️-kelly
You made a very helpful video keep up the good work 🙏❤️🙏
Awesome thank you!!!! UPB makes it easy!
The amount of thoroughness this guy is dealing, Makes me mad I live where I live which is so far away. I without question am going to be doing a shed to home, I cant justify homes in todays market specially just to rent. 35 and worked all my life and still can barely afford to rent. Tired of it.
I would absolutely love something like this
I pulled one of the corner boards off my graceland because we are adding on and the siding was a full inch away from the corner of the shed. the corner 2x4 is exposed to weather.
Wow! Good to know! Graceland was one of the top companies I was considering; not anymore! Thanks!
@@MaryGatdula i did a video and showed how it was done
Omg thank you for this video! Going with them because of this for the new two-story. Wonderful job, and video!
I actually learned some new things 👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wind Bracing and Deadwood would be nice, You know what I mean. I see you provided corners to snail to that's great.
Wish we would of gotten our shed from them. Wow. Ours looked horrible. We have nail holes everywhere. We had 6 of our 11 windows leaking. Like water coming pouring in. We got a $5000 discount but still. We definitely shed some tears. Still dealing with the leaks too.
After watching this and listening to the owner saying what he said I will be buying one of their buildings this summer.
You’ll love it!
I noticed 16 inch on center. Make sure you metal plate in front of each 2x4s that your electric wire goes through. Keeps from accdently putting a nail through the wire.
I want one like this one. So pretty. I love it.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
In Arizona you have to have 2 doors and they have to be on opposite sides of the house in case of fire. but love the build.
I'm learning about all this now and one thing I saw mentioned on a different video was the way the loft joists are attached. A few were saying that they 'should' be attached ON the top plate, not screwed/nailed in under the top plate. Looks like there are the latter.
Correct. That is if you are needing the lofts to take significant pressure like going up and down and up and down....like someone living up there. It is more expensive that way.
But for this loft, we are just using it as storage.
@@BetterTogetherLife Thank you, Yeah, I'm planning a bedroom up there. Also figuring I'll have to switch to 2x6s
Hi..... Thank you for showing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🏡🎥👍👍👍

Great Info!!! ✔️💯🇨🇱🤠
Looks really good.
I would recommend metal nail plates to help from nailing into the Romex
One better use EMT for wiring. There are some locations that dont allow Romex for wiring a home.
I did catch that the stud were missing screw plates for drywall?
At 12 minutes when talking about the house wrap, since it is vaulted ceilings the house wrap should be up on the roof too. The only exception there would be if you were going to use a closed cell foam in your ceiling, but then you would likely be foaming your walls too.
The house wrap is all the way up to the roof. It just didn’t show it in this video.
Up to the roof or including the roof?
At 12:10 the wall with the window... could that be made in to a prow with windows top to bottom? That’s a must have and If like a stand up loft not a crawl space.
I wish I got a shed from this company , I chose a company that was local to me and I didn’t ask any questions. I should have found your video first I would know what I really want.
Y'all need to have something here in the northeast. People could use this option of having a place to live. We are in Fall River, MA, not far from the RI border. It's easier to do this in the south, I know. I lived in NC over 20 years and noticed the beginning of tiny homes and the shed to home buildings before moving back to Massachusetts.
I was going to contact them to see if they had a solar package available but then say they are not in Arizona yet so my loss
I don’t like the idea of my electrical box on the outside of my home where anyone can access it...
Just about every home built prior to 1990 has a outside electrical box or one inside and one outside.
You can go through a double pole switch on the inside or have a separate breaker in the board. Steve in Thailand.
I learned nothing

Thanks for the info.
Great video only improvement is, you pitched the sell in the beginning, now let the man talk. Some of the people watching this video are here for the technical information he is giving more so than your personal input. You have the ability to expose the craftsman was good enough. Once again great video and I subscribed
If you use that aluminum back sheeting on the roof, that shed would be 10 or more degrees cooler, cost more but it's worth it, when I was finishing drywall I knew when I walk in the door from one house to the next
Wouldn't that make it hotter in hot climates like California?
@@missannie8012 doesnt in South Louisiana
@@jackiepierce9281 Does it get over 100* for about a month in SL?
@@missannie8012 96/97,90ish humidity, we sometimes see 100/102, but usually not for a month find a dealer and ask them, look on the net, when I was finishing drywall you could defently feel the difference, from what I understood it collects and holds the heat in place, lm not noe expert but I know it works here
@@jackiepierce9281 Thanks. I'm in the Central Valley. So were mostly dry heat. But we got humidity this last summer! That was awful. It can get up to 115. And its been that way since as long as i can remember. And I'm 54. So anything metal makes me think of a hot house. lol Ill look into it.
You may want to consider running network drops as well. You will get much better performance than wireless and you won't have to worry about signal strength.
I agree.
Interesting! So many cheap products out there not paying attention to quality!
I for sure would only by from this man very professional I’m in Florida/ Georgia area I don’t think this company is in my area .
Just add an awning over your window. It sounds like they know it is a problem but they will sell you that up grade. At 10:28 that box on the wall is not caulked.
It should be standard and not an upgrade.
Incredible standard of quality.
Do you have any outlets in Canada?

DETAIL'S MATTER ! ! ! HAVE SEEN REGULAR STICK-BUILT HOME'S THAT WERE NOT AS T.H.O.R.O.U.G.H.L.Y. INSPECTED AS WELL AS
THIS. THIS GUY AND COMPANY IS ON IT ! ! ! 👍
Prices of sheds will be going up ridiculously because of this movement. Tiny 399 square foot home on wheels are now going for 100k$ That’s almost the price of a 3bed 2 bath 1450 square foot manufacturer home in my town. Single wides are 87-100k
Check out incredible tiny homes in Newport Tennessee. They build very affordable tiny homes. They're great
amazing video
What did you use for your gravel base for shed foundation looks like several inches high in your other video for shed to studio.
Hey, what’s needed in order to set that down? I’ve seen some put these on cinder blocks.
One well built shed!
I’ve watched this like 3 times now
I really really wish I could get mine with them but they’re too far I couldn’t afford the cost to bring it to me😭🥺
Do you know where they are located?
@@tolduso42 they are located in Texas Louisiana and Mississippi
I'm like you it sure would be nice if they had a place in Georgia
Heeeey dudes youguys SMASH that like button! No cliche phrases or anything.
Do you get the permissions needed from the city where the build will happen or does the buyer do that ?
When I called the city permit office the guy said to get permission from my neighbor next door and to allow 3 ft. easement so I can maintain the 3 ft. space. But if there's concrete right up to there store fence there would be no maintenance as I can see. What are your thoughts on this ?
Great video .. and this inspection is very thorough... Is this company located in Temple, Tx?
It is!!!! Well, the main office is.
I notice they don't use siding. How would one of these hold up in Michigan? Our spring/summers aren't super wet, but our winters can be! I would be worried about wood rot.
You'd wanna put siding or stucco on the outside in the first year, before winter would be preferable.

I think we might be able to work something out for GA. It’s possible.
I just watched a shad get delivered . Every structural joint was damaged , most of the siding was popped off . The skids or seal under the front was broken into by the time it was on the pad . Look up failed shed delivery
Well that should be a free shed then, right?
I am curious where you guys moved to! We just bought land in the Buffalo (Tx) area and have lived in Houston our entire lives. We are ready to be debt free and to find a new way to live. We have a friend who took their family and moved into an RV on raw land- it inspired us to do the same! Wild.
I live about 40 mins from you, howdy! My mom's side of family is from that area, Marquez, Groesbeck, Centerville.
My shed to house doesn't have the wrap. How can I remedy that before I add insulation and drywall?
Why is there no jack studs under the loft floor joists like the one he is touching at 14:12?
I have my eléctrical box next to my bed hehe
Looks like a nice shed, probably better than most. Many shed companies offer different levels of sheds as far as construction and finish. I would assume this is this companies top of the line with the overhangs and windows etc... I saw a few things I would to do to improve the model he showed. I would want my rafters on 16" centers not 24". Also, there was No mention of insulating the floor. In cold weather a cold floor is not comfortable at all if you plan to make a cabin out of it. He mentioned the double studs which are a good idea but they are usually done because that is where the joint of the siding is made and that makes it easier to ensure the nails hit a stud. It also hides any daylight that might shine through where the sheets of siding butt together. Again not a bad idea but it is mostly a builders trick than a benefit for the customer. Overall a nice looking shed and again better than most sheds out there.
Do you remember what size this was love your videos
