same thought! I think they can improve camera work more but these girls really caught my attention since their intro videos. This song is really cool too! looking forward to their journey
2 of the members are half Japanese. One is Japanese- Australian and the other is Japanese-Korean and they’re a global girl group! So far most (if not all, because I haven’t checked out everything from them) is in English.
I do agree the instrumental was too repetitive. The 2nd half of the chorus could've done something different, but they didn't and I ended up not being that satisfied for that part. Overall I do like how chill the song is
There definitely is a difference in the color grading and it is simply due to becoming accustomed to the trend of over-saturation of color in Kpop videos. It is like Korea suddenly discovered Technicolor. If you're too young for Technicolor, the Someone in the Crowd dance scene in La La Land is the modern-day Technicolor. I think it is distracting sometimes to the point that more seems to be budgeted toward wardrobe and backgrounds to instill nonstop CGI and fantasmagoric shades of every color in the crayon box. I think saturated colors don't work with what they want in this video, which is industrial in the group dance sets vs the more colorful individual scenes. No distractions which seem to be the point of Kpop videos. I don't give a crap about fireworks sparks in the background. This song is subtle, it's a vibe. It is Western feeling, a club dance feeling. Like Billy Eilish's songs, it doesn't feel like the typical structure that people are used to. Ever listened to 'Bad Guy?' Thank God, I wasn't looking forward to another imitation of Kpop and its confined structure, which is a formula. They want to be the innovators, not the followers. I didn't want to hear a weak imitation of Kpop. I didn't want to hear rehashed Jpop. The members are all distinctive in looks. No one looks like another. This is so normal in girl groups that are not AKB. The funeral and the coffin represent the death of the old Jpop and unlike most funerals, there's a smile on their faces as they say goodbye to the old guard. This song put down a beat and led off with rap. "we gon whisper to ya super super quiet" tells you that this is going to be smooth as glass. Featured five members who can rap. I can't hear enough BASS! Keep it going through the song. Addictive. Literally makes me get up and want to dance. The lyrics are gauntlet thrown down to let the world know they are here to slay. I think their pre-debut dance cover elevated people's expectations about their M/V. Was this a dance team? Then with their Peaches cover. Wow, they can sing in English. Then their Kill Bill rap cover, in English and Japanese, again no one knew who they were. I think they are here to change what the world thinks about Japanese music. And that's good. By the way, the Japanese dance training system has always been incredible. This is AVEX! Of course they will have dance skills. E-girls ruclips.net/video/7af7KrWKsOU/видео.html
I definitely loved XG's debut but I'm looking forward to even more, I know they have a lot to give especially in dance since they received training from some of the Street Woman Fighter members. By the way, Jurin who is the leader and the eldest was born in 2002 and Cocona is the maknae born in 2005.
The song is super good and the girls are on fire🔥🔥i'd sayy it's a very successful debut especially they're not under a popular company and PD always delivering a very interesting reaction
@@MrSunshinesunshine Avex might be one of the big companies in JP but they only have like 3 artists that are actually popular (and their main money makers are on indefinite hiatus/probably disbanding) they almost went bankrup in the last couple of years they had to sell one of their main buildings to save the company
@@PeachMa Just look at their reports, they don’t go bankrupt they have a surplus. I don’t know where you’ve got that 3 artists thing but that’s BS. Avex has many artists, actors, athlete under their agency + they are Japanese local label for many japanese/western/korean artists too.
@@bemyhope5059 they don't manage those groups tho they're only distributors for them lol (they have their own groups and artists and none of them are doing well cuz Avex has 0 idea how to promote them)
This is the most in-depth analysis I have seen. Thanks. I love this debut though. Super happy that Japan is finally going for the world stage. I think that hook is super-catchy and it is going to become huge in certain areas. I like that the dance scenes were simple, so you focus on the girls and the dance and not the set. Also, the best measure of how well they will do internationally is probably the fact that most of the comments under the video are in Portuguese and Spanish, then English, then Japanese. lol
It’s crazy to come back to this video and listen to your deep take on XG. Global almost felt so out of reach for this unknown girl group who didn’t have much backing. When they debuted they didn’t even have the chance to perform on music shows and now with all the love they have stepped into the k-pop space despite their music being all in English. Seeing the impact that their new singles Shooting Star and Left Right have done is crazy. I was unsure of how this group was going to progress and I think Simon (JAKOPS) and XGALX have done great with showcasing their talents. So proud that they are now invited and shown on the lineup for the 88rising Up in The Clouds music festival in New York. This is massive for them. They are really taking Global group seriously. Cheers to them!
*XG is Pure Talent! Vocals visuals n charisma.* All trilingual Japanese members rapping n singing in Yongo iLbon n Hangul. Rap line is insanely superb. Vocal line is awesome!! ! Very good dancers as well 🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡⚡💥💥💥💗💖💝! SWITH-ALPHAZ here!
The members have so much charisma it's ridiculous. I like the Purple Kiss comparison where the group feels like they just stole the "face of the group" member from a bunch of groups and put them all together.
I think the beat's fine. Think you're just so used to noise in some K-pop songs that do too much in their tracks. Not every song needs to be loud and in your face. This was fairly simple debut, still giving everyone a warning and making us want to know more of what they can do with their music on their next release. I mean, they did say in their lyrics, "We gon whisper to you super super quiet bout to show'em who's in charge taking over..."
It's not that! It has the same beat to the end, a change of instrumental at the end will make it less repetitive and more singing in chorus! It sounds monotone and lack of singing so we can't see all their potential
Jakops made his debut as a singer in Korea as the executive producer of XG, and has been engaged in Kpop as a producer and songwriter for over 13 years. His father is Korean and his mother is Japanese, he has Japanese nationality and was born in the United States. XG's song composition and group concept were all produced by him. Also, Jacobs mentioned that XG is an all-Japan girl group that was created as a collaboration project between Korea and Japan Avex. And if you watch XG's demo video, you can see the rooftop overlooking the Han River, the background of X Academy (YG below), and 1MILLION Dance Studio. It is known that they traveled back and forth between Korea and Japan to receive vocal and dance training. 'Tippy Toes' is a good song in English and I expect XG to do good as a global group.
XG is a group that was born with all their might through a global project that they have been preparing for over 5 years. The group consists of Japanese members who practiced with the K-pop system in Korea and set global goals with English songs. XG Executive Producer Jakops (Junho Park) debuted as a singer in Korea and has been engaged in Kpop as a producer and composer for over 13 years. His father is Korean, his mother is Japanese, he is of Japanese nationality and was born in the United States. XG's song composition and the whole group concept were produced by him. 'Tippy Toess' songs are well choreographed, addictive and stylish. It looks like an evolved version of Kpop. Making the song in English is an important point. In that sense, the XG group will be a group that can receive enough stimulation for K-pop.
April 22, 2022, producer JAKOPS said on Instagram Live, "I've been working on the XG project for 4years and my base was mostly in Japan" They are under AVEX. they were training in Japan. (They were training at「AVEX ARTIST ACADEMY HEAD OFFICE STUDIO」in JAPAN *XG video: (The Beginning ,The Journey) YGX appears momentarily, but most of it is a training scene at 「AVEX ARTIST ACADEMY HEAD OFFICE STUDIO」) The MV producer and choreographer are Korean and were shot in South Korea. The first video was uploaded in February 2022. Given that, they may have been in South Korea for preparation in 2021. I think Simon's four years mean either the four years from 2017 to 2021. The MV dance performance uses YGX, but YGX is a dance studio, so anyone can use.
23.02.02: XG is a Japanese group that's released English lyric only songs since debut in 2022. XG was promoted on major Kpop music shows, SBS Inkigayo, KBS Music Bank, MBC Show Music Core, and Mnet M Countdown, but made no appearance at the MMA, MAMA or any Kpop award show due to poor sales in the Korean and American market. They did okay on iTunes internationally and in Japan. Is it b/c no songs are in Japanese or Korean?
It's like the girls themselves executed everything perfectly, it's just that the camera couldn't keep up with them and I think that's why it feels sort of lacking. But other than that, this debut is _amazing_. They all have a certain charm to them that keeps you on your "tippy toes" lmao. I especially like the girl with the pretty eyes and the hat at the podium. I look to what this group has in store for us in the future.
I agree. Been watching them for a while in anticipation for their debut and i absolutely vibe to the song and the energy they bring. XG clearly wanted to leave us wanting more, this was for sure the intention of the slow repetitive beat. It highlights those hints of charisma and skill and teases their potential for a very good song/performance. I agree that the camera work did make the mv feel a bit lackluster though. You have so much presence from the members and the song is very charismatic but they almost get lost in the wide, dark, empty dance sets because of how static the angles are. If the choreography was closer and highlighted more it would havr made for a much more powerful impact and first impression. The slow beat and static camerawork doesnt mix when they're trying to bring a certain level or energy and attitude. They need more dynamic camerawork. More focused and not so open. But most of the scenes outside of the choreo were fantastic. I just thnk it kinda happened this way due to small production team/budget. We have to keep in mind that they wont have all the same tools as the big kpop companies have. But that just makes it all the more impressive that they weren't far off and in some ways better. I dk believe the stripped down feeling of it was intentional though not only for that teasing aspect but also because based on their predebut covers they seem to have a more western RNB/Sexy kind of slow vocals but very powerful rap and dance presence. Both of which i think they can afford to tip the scales towards because they are diverse and skilled. As someone who listens to alot of kpop and western music i would totally say this direction they are headed to is the western equivalent to kpop (like 5th harmony but more mature/badass) but they still have the trademark kpop hooks/choreo and vibe to the mv and approach to management, promotion etc. This is honestly a really good balance of the aspects of kpop and western music that i love. I'm very excited and interested to see what XG does in the future. I believe they are making big steps towards integrating western, jpop and kpop culture into music. And doing that seemlessly. I would love to see their unique style influence the way kpop and jpop companies write and produce songs/concepts and have that sound integrate and find its place in each industry. I think it'd be really cool to have a new genre of music that does all these things like they do.
Thank you so much for reacting to XG - Tippy Toes! If you would like to check out more unique J-Pop groups I highly recommend to react to BE:FIRST - Gifted.
This debut left me in awe. They've got a good thing going here and I can't wait to see what they do! I could see Hikaru fitting in really well in this group but I'm glad she got into Kep1 as she stands out much more there than I think she would in XG.

DMTN's Simon is Producing New Girl Group XG Set to Debut 2022 Simon, known as a member of the 2nd Generation boy group DMTN announced he is producing a female idol group. On January 21, Simon held a Zoom meeting along with fellow DMTN member Jeesu, to introduce the girl group project he had been working hard on producing for the past 5 years. The girl group is called XG and will debut sometime in 2022! The group is a collaboration project between South Korea and Japan's Avex. This project included Ezaki Hikaru a participant in Girls Planet 999 and current member of Kep1er. More information about the confirmed members of the group will be released soon. After introducing the girl group project Simon held a fan chat and answered questions about XG.
I like how subdued and chill the song is, the current trend of KPop music has just gone too loud and experimental lately. 4th Gen groups should really take a break from the badass/girl crush concept. *I'm talking to you JPYE!*
I think this look like they have a modest budget for this debut because it's mostly like a test to see if people are interested in this group and concept.

I really love this song. It's one of my morning routines to listen to my favorite songs. I actually place it second to Jikjin and U is my 3rd. I placed all of them in the loop for an hour before I start my day.
I’m so excited because Simon jakobs from DMTN either produced them or something but he has a hand in creating them.
I don’t know all of the details but he is promoting them constantly on ig
I love their song!
same thought! I think they can improve camera work more but these girls really caught my attention since their intro videos. This song is really cool too! looking forward to their journey
5:03 "Oh my god, that is a sexy car."
OK, now we know what is PD's type when it comes to cars.
omg im so glad you did a reaction of xg tippy toes
2 of the members are half Japanese. One is Japanese- Australian and the other is Japanese-Korean and they’re a global girl group! So far most (if not all, because I haven’t checked out everything from them) is in English.
you should react to they're pre debut performances these girls definitely aren't just talk they're literally the full package 🔥
you mentioned Vava wow i love her so much too 🙈🙈🙈😘😘😘
Absolutely a BOP!!?
I do agree the instrumental was too repetitive. The 2nd half of the chorus could've done something different, but they didn't and I ended up not being that satisfied for that part. Overall I do like how chill the song is
Finally a gg debut song I like ! I really like Jurin, she’s the first one you pointed out cuz of her aura
it has been confirmed that she is gonna join after kep1er ' s contract ends
Thank you for this reaction, I would have missed out on these girls otherwise ! I just fell in love...
E-girls ruclips.net/video/7af7KrWKsOU/видео.html
wahhh thank you so much for reacting to xg>.
Whoa. This is a FANTASTIC debut. Harvey gives me Lisa vibes.
I was waiting for this!!!
Dude I was so badly waiting for your reaction 😃
I definitely loved XG's debut but I'm looking forward to even more, I know they have a lot to give especially in dance since they received training from some of the Street Woman Fighter members.
By the way, Jurin who is the leader and the eldest was born in 2002 and Cocona is the maknae born in 2005.
The song is super good and the girls are on fire🔥🔥i'd sayy it's a very successful debut especially they're not under a popular company and PD always delivering a very interesting reaction
Avex is a huge company. Actually it’s bigger than YG, SM, or JYP.
@@MrSunshinesunshine Avex might be one of the big companies in JP but they only have like 3 artists that are actually popular (and their main money makers are on indefinite hiatus/probably disbanding)
they almost went bankrup in the last couple of years they had to sell one of their main buildings to save the company
@@PeachMa Just look at their reports, they don’t go bankrupt they have a surplus. I don’t know where you’ve got that 3 artists thing but that’s BS. Avex has many artists, actors, athlete under their agency + they are Japanese local label for many japanese/western/korean artists too.
@@PeachMa actually avex have Korean groups too like super junior and BigBang
Cheers to them!
they literally blew my minds. I"m very excited to see what more they can offer.
Thanks for reacting to themmm 🙏🔥🤍🤍🤍
yg officially announced that xg has nothing to do with it.It's a jpop girl group from Avex in Japan.
This is actually a game changer not just for K-Pop/J-Pop but for Pop songs in general.
They are really a potential group...
I bought Tippy Toes in a second after listened a minute sample on Mora. Interesting girl group, I'm exiting for more.
XG dishing out chill beats, now give us the Dance Choreo :)) I wanna see the Tippy Toes~
I remember why I really like this song. This definitely reminds me of Run Devil Run
@@newjeansfan238 it sounds so flat
@@newjeansfan238 yeah the beats a beat repetitive
Naw it’s musically boring
That "boom boom boom" in the background was way too repetitive. It doesn't need to be loud just different.
Please review their new song, "Mascara"! Looking forward to it.
April 22, 2022, producer JAKOPS said on Instagram Live, "I've been working on the XG project for 4years and my base was mostly in Japan"
They are under AVEX.
they were training in Japan.
(They were training at「AVEX ARTIST ACADEMY HEAD OFFICE STUDIO」in JAPAN
*XG video: (The Beginning ,The Journey)
YGX appears momentarily, but most of it is a training scene at 「AVEX ARTIST ACADEMY HEAD OFFICE STUDIO」)
The MV producer and choreographer are Korean and were shot in South Korea. The first video was uploaded in February 2022. Given that, they may have been in South Korea for preparation in 2021. I think Simon's four years mean either the four years from 2017 to 2021.
The MV dance performance uses YGX,
but YGX is a dance studio, so anyone can use.
They have nothing to do with YG, YG and Avex both confirmed it. that rumor sure gave them popularity though.
YG has nothing to do with this group. They released a statement. Just FYI!
An all English Jpop song, count me in!!!!
Cocona went so crazy on that JID track
yeeesss xg is defiinitely gonna bop!!!
3.39 is Maya
4.06 the girl with insane presence is Jurin the leader & main rapper .
1st rapper in this song is Harvey & 2nd is Cocona
23.02.02: XG is a Japanese group that's released English lyric only songs since debut in 2022. XG was promoted on major Kpop music shows, SBS Inkigayo, KBS Music Bank, MBC Show Music Core, and Mnet M Countdown, but made no appearance at the MMA, MAMA or any Kpop award show due to poor sales in the Korean and American market. They did okay on iTunes internationally and in Japan. Is it b/c no songs are in Japanese or Korean?
this song is dope
They already made the first comeback, the song calls "Mascara", react please, its different from the debut song but continue on they style.
check out 'XG' "left right" MV
It's like the girls themselves executed everything perfectly, it's just that the camera couldn't keep up with them and I think that's why it feels sort of lacking. But other than that, this debut is _amazing_. They all have a certain charm to them that keeps you on your "tippy toes" lmao. I especially like the girl with the pretty eyes and the hat at the podium. I look to what this group has in store for us in the future.
It’s been confirmed Hikaru will join them after Kep1er!
For real? Source?
For real real yeah
I knew it
In 2024, after the end of the contract.
If this group is still around.
Jurin's eyes ❤️❤️
This debut left me in awe. They've got a good thing going here and I can't wait to see what they do! I could see Hikaru fitting in really well in this group but I'm glad she got into Kep1 as she stands out much more there than I think she would in XG.
Wow Japanese girls group XG🇯🇵
sooooooooooo cool!💖💖💖💖
Just for your information, this brandnew group has nothing to do with YG as explained in their February press release. The joint venture you mentioned of is YGEX, not XGALX to which this group belongs.
I got one of my friends in BTS- but XG got her into K-pop
I'm surprised he mentioned vava the Chinese rapper she is one of my favorites and yes I also could hear some similarities between the two of them 😊
For all the people confused what agency they're from and who owns the label.
No connection to YGE other then YGX was paid to train the girls in the X academy training room.
DMTN's Simon is Producing New Girl Group XG Set to Debut 2022
Simon, known as a member of the 2nd Generation boy group DMTN announced he is producing a female idol group.
Well! That article was totally misinformed then!
I like how subdued and chill the song is, the current trend of KPop music has just gone too loud and experimental lately. 4th Gen groups should really take a break from the badass/girl crush concept. *I'm talking to you JPYE!*
They are a R&B and Hip Hop group
No YG deny any affiliate with XG
I think this look like they have a modest budget for this debut because it's mostly like a test to see if people are interested in this group and concept.
