    What speed do the motors go at and what did you use to program it?

    • @nathanslade2376
      @nathanslade2376  2 года назад

      I used an Arduino Uno so it's all done in C with Arduino IDE. I can't remember the speed of the motors, definitely not fast enough to feel realistic, but fast enough to entertain kids. They're 24V actuators, but you can often run them at 150% voltage for increased speed at the expense of life. So I ran them at higher voltage and they moved faster but also fried faster. Not ideal.

    Hi man, How much weight can those actuators hold?

    • @nathanslade2376
      @nathanslade2376  3 года назад

      Not much, I think 50-60lbs or so each, and obviously the load affects the speed. I wasn't looking to move big heavy adults, so I went more for actuator speed than load handling.

    • @nathanslade2376
      @nathanslade2376  3 года назад

      Good luck with that. This one was just under $200 but it's nowhere near fast enough to respond to video games. $2k is probably about what you'll need for a good one.

      The motor is "BEMONOC 12Vdc Stroke 300mm 12" Force 300N Linear Actuator Motor Fast Speed Speed 30mm/sec" from Amazon. Not the best choice as it was slow and not very powerful, plus there is no feedback, but it was good for learning.

    What you need to do that, I want do me too ,thanks can u let me here all details

    • @nathanslade2376
      @nathanslade2376  2 года назад +1

      Arduino Uno
      5V relays (I used a custom PCB to stack these on the Arduino)
      Analog joystick (MUST be analog)
      Linear actuators (faster is better)
      Power supply for actuators (I used 32V on 24V actuators which increases speed but shortens lifespan)
      Rotating couplers
      2x4 lumber cut and assembled in whatever shape you choose
      Willing test subject (make sure they are SECURELY FASTENED or you'll never hear the end of it)
      Also a degree in engineering isn't required, but it sure helps.
