Bravo esercizi e musica assieme ,solo chopin c'è riuscito
In 1983, one full year before he won the Busoni and 4th prized in the Leeds won by Kimura Parker, I asked Louis Lortie, sitting at his own piano and having played for me that evening the entire Chopin Études (he then said to me to prefer the opus 25 to the opus 10) I asked him with insight which section of which étude of the whole opus 25 he found most difficult to play digitally and artistically : his answer can be heard at 8 minutes 36 in the fifth étude of this set. It is this left hand's melodic soliloque with the right hand coordination. Mind you, he still masters it half a century later and possessing one of the greatest recording references (Chandos vinyle) of the entire Études repertoire of great great interpreters.

His almost exaggeratedly heavy left hand produces such a rich sonority on that piano. Its a different experience in many of the etudes.
It's wonderful that you hear Fazioli pianos being used more and more often.
I agree. Time to finish with the godfathers of the concert halls...
Louis’ Etudes were the first thing that showed up when I searched for Chopin on Spotify for the first time. I’ve listened to a lot of Chopin over the years now but I’ve never found anyone I liked more than his work.
Exelente. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🤩👏👏👏👏👏México ♥️
that is some of the best playing I've ever heard. Thank you M. Lortie.
me too... (and I play all of them..)
Lots of people can, and do, hammer these pieces. It takes a fine musician to both bring out the drama and 'music' of them. Thankyou Teatro La Fenice.
way beyond.... he's amazing !
Really good, Chopin would be pride of you!
MARAVILHOSO. TOP DAS GALAXIAS. O FINO DA MUSICA. CHOPIN É EMPOLGANTE E EMOCIONANTE.
Lortie's Etudes both 10 and 25 were my introduction to the Etudes so many years ago (he had hair on the CD cover). It is still my standard, amazing talent and control.
You must have it's 1986 recording. He made a new version (still for Chandos) in 2009, with no hair on the cover ;)
Yes. As noted in reply by LePhil79 it is the 1986 recording and it is also my standard for performance. The No. 12 is particularly impressive and unmatched by others I have heard.
one of the best.
for the first ten seconds i had the volume too low and i tought he was playing a harpt, the sound is so light and amazing
Masterly !!!!! Speechless. No more.
such old world mastery.... beyond beautiful.....
Wow. He's really really good. Dang!! The fingers, the technique, the musical expression is phenonmenal. I saw one of this guy's videos once before, but I didn't realize he was this amazing. Undeniably one of the best pianists of the 21st century. Kudos to Louis Lortie! I'm currently finishing up no.1 and starting no. 9; so, this video is significantly inspiring. I’m always incredibly inspired seeing an artist and performance of this caliber. Simply, amazing, delightful and wonderful. I particularly love that Mr. Lortie loves the performance - the dance is riveting - shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, neck, head and the body bounce 😁😊❤💯%. Definately, years of mastery at its best.
I made this part of the playlist I use to unwind after a hard day.
Fantastische
Gran Pianista!!!! no lo conocia!!! Gracias
Hard to believe I saw him in concert 20 years ago. He didn't play the etudes but a much lighter program. The audience was empty & there was a lot of noise outside.
Very pleasurable thankyou
Bravooooo!!!!!

wonderful
Bravo!🎶😊👍
Fantástico!
like he wrote them... amazing...
like hearing music for the very first time...
This is now my standard for these studies. The Faliozi is obviously superior to other pianos -it is so clear. The quality of recording probably help , though!
Aside from Clarity, what else?

Por. que el 0p10 y el 0p 25 es el mismo? No tienen el Op10. Para que? 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶es una ofensa
Fantastic pianist. Sad that the Italian audience did not recognized such a magnificence performance, very cold applauses. AND fire the camera man! Horrible camera work.
What's horrible about the camera work?
Yes ! Totally agree. The camera movements are terrible. Both position adjustments and zooms in and out. It looks like an amateur. It's a real shame.
honestly i only care about the performance and audio quality XD
@@Numberonesorabjifan 7:24 - 7:41 is a good example - best for listening anyway
8.35????Its a joke?
a bit mechanical maybe, playing more with his fingers instead of the weaving elbows. I thought that the elbows should be moving more to get a softer sound. He seems to smash the notes that form the melody
@@Petermaguire3684 I have played piano (rank amateur) many years and my attention was focused on the accuracy and the nuances of his finger execution and thinking Chopin would have been pleased! I don't believe these etudes were ever intended to be executed in a soft manner (weaving elbow movement or not). 🙂
@@Petermaguire3684 Elbow moving more ? Where have you learned that ?!
Pedestrian....non chalant....routine........Cortot, Cherkassky, Hofmann, Novaes, Moiseiwitsch Trifonov, Lang Lang, the Korean wonder of the last Cliburn.....oy, the 3rd turgid...! don't forget Lhévinne in the g sharp minor........😊
Were you not feeling good that day you've written those poor words ?
as much as i respect the pianist, i tend to agree. Is it the piano, the miking, accoustics.. but i stopped listening after op25 no 6.
