My favorite interpretation of this piece.. Friedheim's approach is very symphonic, Horowitz's approach is very tragic and gigantic, Sofronitszki's approach is really poetic, even more then a poem! For me, this is what we need exactly to this oeuvre. Thank you very much for posting this treasure.

A blazingly original interpretation with wonderful attention to the articulation of the voices and the rhythmic dialogue between them. So many dramatic details that become visible in this interpretation!
I have just found this; I am overwhelmed. I do not think this performance can be bettered. Gilels and Richter have wonderful recordings of this sonata, but I can see why both had good reason to look up to Soronitsky.

Best Liszt Sonata B ever heard comparing to other fantasy approach or dead elephant thinking. This is more like a heroic story now.
