The 9 year-old little genius in Moscow grew up to a grand master with his talent unfaded, thank God for giving his gift and keeping it sustained.

As a pianist it is quite offensive to hear you saying what we have is a "gift," when in reality we practice and drill for years for hours per day. Admire the effort he put in to learning this masterpiece; the hours of practice that he did.

@@prod7633fair comment if you assume everyone is equal and can get to his level with enough practice but unfortunately not the case. Kissin in my opinion is truly exceptional.

This is my favorite piece, there is so much sadness and pain expressed, but what I really like is that Chopin could make such a depressing piece very entertaining.
0:00: So depressing (and sometimes dramatic), but on the other hand, so peaceful and quiet. I love it!
20:54: The perfect romantic concerto movement. So expressive!
30:36: Such a dramatic movement, included with excitement and curiosity!
Kissin is so talented, he performed this concerto at an age of 13! He should be nicknamed “Classical Kissin”!
Good luck on your future performances, Evgeny Kissin!
(39:45 Kissin deserves that much applause and attention!)😊❤🎉

Starting min. 4:32, it immediately connects you to heaven, where there is nothing, but purity, decency, beauty, and peace. It immediately makes you a good human upon hearing it like magic but from somewhere far holy. Chopin, composers/musicians like him, and the genius, Evgeny Kissin here playing this masterpiece were (and are) connected to the heavens and give us the pleasure of hearing the sounds of divinity.❤🙏

How I do love Evgeny Kissin’s music-making! He first performed this concerto aged 13. I am very old now, and remember hearing the recorded performance on my car radio - must’ve been in 1988, but am unsure - and carefully stopping the car to listen. Was enchanted, thrilled, mesmerised - and have loved him ever since. It’s wonderful seeing and hearing how has matured into this truly great musician.

The raw authenticity, the pure heart-driven intensity barely held back. Kissin screams his soul and is crying and laughing all at once with each keystroke. Vladimir Ashkenazy, take notes. I truly pity anyone who fails to grasp the masterful wonder of this performance. Kissin actually succeeds where most expert pianists fail, namely at placing his severe virtuoso at the gentle service to his will........ incredible. No words.

These are some of my most favourite piano classics which I used to press 'repeat' in my cd player and listen to it continuously,on holidays, forgetting that I myself had to prepare my meals. These wonderful pieces of music had soothed my souls mainly on holidays by helping me overcome the pain of leaving my family because of being employed in different cities due to a transferrable job. Being attracted to the beauty of some magnificent music and in that process of listening/enjoying it forgetting to prepare and have breakfast and lunch: you can never imagine it now because of internet, WhatsApp, mobile phone, etc. But those were the days - one or two years of late 80's , and the full 90's or some years of early 2000's. Memory is fading. Thanks.God is great as I can enjoy the same wonderful music even now. Gracias!

I thought everyone knew that Kissin learnt the first 2 Chopin concerti at age 11, played them in concert at age 12, and then, aged 13, he played them in the concert that we can see today on video. That, of course, was also heard on radio in the late 1980s. First I was amazed at how few people seem to know all this - and then I realised how very old I am!! There are quite a few generations behind me. Kissin remains my favourite person in the music world; he is a genuinely warm, kind and loving person, which is very rare in this cruel world of music. I hope all of you have read his memoir, *Memoirs and Reflections*. A beautiful book.

The greatest living pianist - a towering genius. The brilliant young pianists coming up like Triifinov, Wunder, and even younger Shishkin and Kanterow are great, for sure. But no matter what he plays, somehow Kissin’s playing is at another level. It’s as if there is no piano in the way of his imagination. As if the notes were coming straight from his fingertips - that’s how brilliantly he modulates each note. It’s bold and elegant, not showy or brash but not timid. His sound is his and his alone.

Chopin and the lack of fulgariade of his work, which could be attributed to a passing passion, but no! Chopin's romanticism stems entirely from his memories of Poland and the bitterness of being a political exile.
