Even for 1981, those Chevy trucks still had the latest “technology and stuff”.

I never heard of the "K-10" designation used on the K-5 Blazer. Every fender badge I saw always said "K-5".

it's hard to believe that only the 5.0/305 was available in CA. The 2 inline 6 cylinder engines especially the 292 ran forever.. The other 49 you could choose from everything but the 454 in a C-10...

@mgtowfish73 The 1981 only, to be exact (incidentally, GMC also dropped the Sierra Grande name after 1981 too). These were, chronologically, the trim levels of the '73-'87 Chevy trucks: 1973-74, Custom, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super (base to top-of-the-line, respectively; the same's also true of the '71-'72 trucks); 1975-81, Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, Cheyenne and Silverado (again, base to top-of-the-line, respectively and, yes, before 1999, Silverado was the top-of-the-line trim level ONLY); 1982-87, Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale and Silverado (once more, base to top-of-the-line, respectively; as I said, 1981 was the Cheyenne's last season and GMC, likewise, followed suit for 1982 by doing the same thing).

I had a 1991 Cheyenne, but I've never seen any between 78-87 tho. In 88 a Cheyenne was bottom trim no cloth, no stereo, no ac. My 91 had a rubber plug where the radio antenna would've been on the fender lol

18:54 That rear A/C was just about the only luxury on your loaded Suburban that couldn't also be had on a loaded Chevette, and that mainly because it was completely unnecessary on the smaller car.
