Nobody is forcing these groups to cover songs of the opposing gender, so if you do it, do it right. Thoughts as someone whose been in kpop for a while and isn’t too toxic 2.some idols probably even ask for less lines cause they’re not confident and probably get annoyed when there stans start protesting, also if the idol has a good voice there’s no reason to not give them lines. Also singing isn’t something your born with, unless your tonedeaf which it’s actually very rare to be then a bad singer can be made decent (not Mariah Carey level but they can be taught to sound good) 3.lmao as someone who lived through 2nd gen fan wars everything else is hella tame, even exo vs bts and txt vs skz are very unserious in comparison or loona vs everyone. so I’ve figured out how to tune out the fandoms cause even the nicest ones have annoying af ppl (e.g. I love carats but can the weird ones stop traumatising vernon) 4. As a dancer this is actually alot due to the way men and woman are trained to dance, mens centre of mass is alot higher and as a girl some boy group choreography is hard bc I’m not trained in that style of dancing. It’s them same vice versa too, like most male idols aren’t afraid of looking feminine more that their body’s aren’t trained to dance in that style, of course there’s expectations tho 5. some fanwars are hella ridiculous and those are funny, but sometimes it’s just bullying idols and doxxing and rage bait which is 🤡 8. Encores aren’t always the best idea of live vocals bc the mic has no reverb so it’s always a dry vocal, so if your a bad vocalist it exaggerates it a bit more. That being said it definitely exposes weaker vocalists bc of that, but it’s not the only place you see idols sing live, think of the competition show immortal songs, there’s also sketchbook, k909 and recently lee hyoris red carpet
For the first opinion, I understand where your coming from. But when this happens, I usually get annoyed at the agency, since they are actively choosing to do something this dumb. It's also annoying since they're giving these idols and their fans a false sense of hope, while also neglecting other artists.
I basically think that as a company you either actively promote your groups well or else there is no point in keeping them active if they always struggle to survive in the market because you don't know how to manage them. At that point there's no use in keeping them active, because not only it is a waste of money, but like you said it gives everyone involved a false sense of hope. I have been in this situation with some groups i stanned and in the end i was glad they disbanded because it gave them the chance to start over and possibly have a better future elsewhere.

I think it's really just a difference in principles, as a business student I do get the point of pouring all your resources in your most successful artist because they would definitely bring that investment back in multiples, but there's also the point of investing in other artist so they wouldn't just rely on only one source of income. It just depends if that company is actually doing a good job in helping that artist or if they're just treating them as a quick cash grab when the more popular group is not promoting, because if that's the case then it would be better to let them go and flourish elsewhere (yes MBK I'm talking about you!). 6. The way people keep on switching up on Wonyoung is rather interesting, one minute everyone was hating on this girl over a big ass strawberry and a pizza cheese pull for an ad but everyone's kneeling before her the moment she sues Sojang? Most of the time those funny tricks idols do during encores are the ones they promise to do if they win the show during the interviews, it can be them eating ice cubes, throwing a member up, or literally switch their parts.
2:08 this is kinda me with WJSN. Dawon not getting more lines is ridiculous, she’s the Main Vocalist and the best at supporting. (Obviously now it’s better, but several eras ago she would get 5 seconds per song.) The third one is sooo real!! Delusional fans can make really make you hate a group. Your fandom is supposed to be your community in a way and when they start acting like dumbasses it can really make you turn away from the group as a whole. I think it's perfectly human to find some idols off. It's just how we are. Their appearance or certain behaviours could remind you of someone or something in your own life that you hate or tend to avoid. I can name a couple of idols like that myself. Most notably jennie. I don't go out of my way to hate on her but I just can't seem to see her the way majority of the kpop world sees her. She's also made some career moves that have put me off even more. However, even before the tour and her participation in that misogynistic show, i can't say i ever liked her.
the 3rd trait is absolutely relatable, like i've experience the exact same thing just as you! ateez used to be one of my ult boy groups for 3 years, but one thing completely changed the way i see them right now. i remember mnet revealing the mama nominations 5 months ago and the biggest wave of disappointment came from atinys just because ateez wasn't nominated for the group of the year category or "k-hot chilli peppers" didn't get a best dance performance (male group) nomination. i tried to explain to everyone who was disappointed with this on social media that for example bouncy wasn't nominated in any category because the song didn't even fit the voting criteria as it charted poorly in south korea or the boys themselves weren't nominated because their reputation in sk isn't on a huge ass level + their domestic fanbase is weak + there were boy groups who were thriving in case of popularity 10x more than them. but of course many atinys didn't give a single damn about that and started bashing other groups for getting a couple of nominations while ateez was with nothing (especially zerobaseone, some of the atinys were giving excuses that zb1's a rookie group and they shouldn't get a nomination. like hello??? these excuses were making me tired and yes zb1 deserved to be nominated bc their debut was successful and they were already popular before debut). it was so annoying to this point that atinys started pissing me off which led to me starting to lose interest in ateez because of them. then it got pretty worse because i felt like they (atz) unfortunately began to lose their amazing spark as for their music, i mean i barely/RARELY go back to listening to their music nowadays and their recent album wasn't my cup of tea though, i stopped being a huge enthusiast of their stage manners/presence (late 2019-december 2021 was the best time for them as performers) and i started losing my trust in kq because they have been using ateez's fame to the horrendous extent just to promote their newest boy group for months now and that felt awkward to me. unfortunately i ended up removing ateez from my stan list in february of this year because it was so hard for me ult them or enjoy what they're doing :(

Imo some 3rd gen artists would have been bullied so hard for their encores if they went by today's standards. Like is twice eating ice to avoid singing, is BTS singing in a funny tone because they can't sing (which both these groups can sing) Like I keep thinking about this and don't get me wrong some groups like Mamamoo are actually impressive like how are you belting with three people on top of you. but you can't blame fans for wanting live vocals either. Like just with the industry standards of lipsyncing and having backtracks its obvious fans will want more singing performances especially to use in fan wars. K-pop stans should stop crying about their bias being overshadowed 🙂like if the member who’s popular is putting more effort to keep up their reputation they deserve the hype and if your idol is just not doing anything to come of the box then I think the underratedness is deserved; as fan it can hurt knowing that your bias is talented and deserves more but if your bias ain’t ready to step up the game I think you should stop complaining 🫂🫂

I also find it annoying how people over praise their biases and idols in general. The standard is so low that some stans will praise idols for the absolute bare minimum.

2.some idols probably even ask for less lines cause they’re not confident and probably get annoyed when there stans start protesting, also if the idol has a good voice there’s no reason to not give them lines. Also singing isn’t something your born with, unless your tonedeaf which it’s actually very rare to be then a bad singer can be made decent (not Mariah Carey level but they can be taught to sound good)
3.lmao as someone who lived through 2nd gen fan wars everything else is hella tame, even exo vs bts and txt vs skz are very unserious in comparison or loona vs everyone. so I’ve figured out how to tune out the fandoms cause even the nicest ones have annoying af ppl (e.g. I love carats but can the weird ones stop traumatising vernon)
4. As a dancer this is actually alot due to the way men and woman are trained to dance, mens centre of mass is alot higher and as a girl some boy group choreography is hard bc I’m not trained in that style of dancing. It’s them same vice versa too, like most male idols aren’t afraid of looking feminine more that their body’s aren’t trained to dance in that style, of course there’s expectations tho
5. some fanwars are hella ridiculous and those are funny, but sometimes it’s just bullying idols and doxxing and rage bait which is 🤡
8. Encores aren’t always the best idea of live vocals bc the mic has no reverb so it’s always a dry vocal, so if your a bad vocalist it exaggerates it a bit more. That being said it definitely exposes weaker vocalists bc of that, but it’s not the only place you see idols sing live, think of the competition show immortal songs, there’s also sketchbook, k909 and recently lee hyoris red carpet
For the first opinion, I understand where your coming from. But when this happens, I usually get annoyed at the agency, since they are actively choosing to do something this dumb. It's also annoying since they're giving these idols and their fans a false sense of hope, while also neglecting other artists.
I basically think that as a company you either actively promote your groups well or else there is no point in keeping them active if they always struggle to survive in the market because you don't know how to manage them. At that point there's no use in keeping them active, because not only it is a waste of money, but like you said it gives everyone involved a false sense of hope. I have been in this situation with some groups i stanned and in the end i was glad they disbanded because it gave them the chance to start over and possibly have a better future elsewhere.

I think it's really just a difference in principles, as a business student I do get the point of pouring all your resources in your most successful artist because they would definitely bring that investment back in multiples, but there's also the point of investing in other artist so they wouldn't just rely on only one source of income. It just depends if that company is actually doing a good job in helping that artist or if they're just treating them as a quick cash grab when the more popular group is not promoting, because if that's the case then it would be better to let them go and flourish elsewhere (yes MBK I'm talking about you!).

The way people keep on switching up on Wonyoung is rather interesting, one minute everyone was hating on this girl over a big ass strawberry and a pizza cheese pull for an ad but everyone's kneeling before her the moment she sues Sojang? Either those people had a huge character development or they're scared that they'll be the next one Wony is sending to court!
8. Most of the time those funny tricks idols do during encores are the ones they promise to do if they win the show during the interviews, it can be them eating ice cubes, throwing a member up, or literally switch their parts.

2:08 this is kinda me with WJSN. Dawon not getting more lines is ridiculous, she’s the Main Vocalist and the best at supporting. (Obviously now it’s better, but several eras ago she would get 5 seconds per song.) Meanwhile, I love the girls, but a lot of them are unstable/struggle live, and that’s why they tend to not get as much lines. Also I don’t know why a lot of Ujung’s felt the need to send hate to Yeonjung for simply… doing her job. She is also a Main Vocalist, and people would get mad at her for having “too many lines,” and then pit her against Dawon.

The third one is sooo real!! Delusional fans can make really make you hate a group. Your fandom is supposed to be your community in a way and when they start acting like dumbasses it can really make you turn away from the group as a whole.
I think it's perfectly human to find some idols off. It's just how we are. Their appearance or certain behaviours could remind you of someone or something in your own life that you hate or tend to avoid. I can name a couple of idols like that myself. Most notably jennie. I don't go out of my way to hate on her but I just can't seem to see her the way majority of the kpop world sees her. She's also made some career moves that have put me off even more. However, even before the tour and her participation in that misogynistic show, i can't say i ever liked her.

ateez used to be one of my ult boy groups for 3 years, but one thing completely changed the way i see them right now. i remember mnet revealing the mama nominations 5 months ago and the biggest wave of disappointment came from atinys just because ateez wasn't nominated for the group of the year category or "k-hot chilli peppers" didn't get a best dance performance (male group) nomination. i tried to explain to everyone who was disappointed with this on social media that for example bouncy wasn't nominated in any category because the song didn't even fit the voting criteria as it charted poorly in south korea or the boys themselves weren't nominated because their reputation in sk isn't on a huge ass level + their domestic fanbase is weak + there were boy groups who were thriving in case of popularity 10x more than them. but of course many atinys didn't give a single damn about that and started bashing other groups for getting a couple of nominations while ateez was with nothing (especially zerobaseone, some of the atinys were giving excuses that zb1's a rookie group and they shouldn't get a nomination. like hello??? these excuses were making me tired and yes zb1 deserved to be nominated bc their debut was successful and they were already popular before debut). it was so annoying to this point that atinys started pissing me off which led to me starting to lose interest in ateez because of them. then it got pretty worse because i felt like they (atz) unfortunately began to lose their amazing spark as for their music, i mean i barely/RARELY go back to listening to their music nowadays and their recent album wasn't my cup of tea though, i stopped being a huge enthusiast of their stage manners/presence (late 2019-december 2021 was the best time for them as performers) and i started losing my trust in kq because they have been using ateez's fame to the horrendous extent just to promote their newest boy group for months now and that felt awkward to me. unfortunately i ended up removing ateez from my stan list in february of this year because it was so hard for me ult them or enjoy what they're doing :(

the #2 : most of the peoples who bias these idols don't care if they can't sing or not so even exposed they would keep whining about it cuz of fairness or whatever. the root of the problem is that too many untalented idols debut. this is not a toxic opinion, at the end of the day, these peoples are SINGERS so yeah it make sense but it just wouldn't solve the problem and would just ruin a song for nothing, after all it's all about music so we should let the producers choose

Imo some 3rd gen artists would have been bullied so hard for their encores if they went by today's standards.

Nah cause opinion three is SO relatable I used to stan a rlly nice group and after a certain era the fandom started getting toxic and as soon as they started attacking other fandoms I stopped stanning them and liking them as a whole.
