Thanks for the great comparison video! I've shot on a Panasonic FZ-2500 for years and I love it! I have the AC battery adapter for it and I can shoot pretty much all day on AC power. On battery power I can usually get through an hour long shoot on one battery as long as I'm not constantly zooming in and out since this is a "fly-by-wire" zoom and runs the battery power down a little bit each time you move the lens. Love the colors and the focus is very sharp. IBIS is pretty decent but Panasonic auto focus is and has always been a little slow. Audio using an external mic is quite good. And Panasonic cameras aren't hobbled with the 30 minute shooting limit. They get around it by constantly running but breaking up the files into 29:59 minute segments that match up frame for frame on a timeline. Never had an issue with it for as long as I've owned the camera. Highly recommend it.
RX10 Mark 4 was my first camera purchase, and I still believe it made my video and photo portfolio look much better than my capabilities alone at the time. There's just so much you can do with that zoom, form factor, and slog2 recording. The autofocus was also incredible! Will be buying the mark 5 when it comes out if they include 10 bit recording 😋

Another great video! I bought a Sony Rx10 MK4 for a trip to Galapagos a couple of years ago and was blown away by the quality. I ended up taking more video than stills but both were amazing quality. I also have to say that I didn't have any problems with the batteries not lasting very long. I took three batteries with me but normally only used about one and a half in a full day.
His comment at 4:40 about Sony RX10iv 10 mins battery life is not fair and 'suspicious'. All of my last 2 years railways videos are shot with one battery (although I have 2 spares) lasting more than an hour. You can check this with my cab rides (train driver's view) vids where changing baterries while driving is unthikable. He has an excellent channel helping us taking the right decision when buing (expensive) stuff but this time he disapointed me.
You're brilliant. So many people get obsessed with stats. Most of these cameras are very affordable now and are amazing value for money. The first Canon Eos m is still one of my favourite cameras, only 1080 but the f2 lens gives outstanding results. The Lumix GX80 is amazing value also, 5 axis stabilisation and great image quality. I still use this as B cam to my S5. Rely on content not stats! Thanks for video.
I used my zs200d in my last trip to Japan and oh boy, even in pitch dark scenes with the built in flash, i could get great sharp shots and footage, imagine what a sharper lx10 would have given (probably wouldn't have needed the flash) though i would have been limited by reach.
Thanks, Markus, for pointing out the joy of using a pocket camera with a smaller sensor, "Rise of 1 Inch Sensor!" Beautiful overview and amazing shots of beautiful model Kara. Many thanks 🙏
You dont't need big sensors for blurry backround. That's absolutely correct! I was shooting some footage on a MiniDV Camcorder from Sony, the PC-100E to be more precise. It's got a 1/4" sensor and a f/1.8 lens. I was amazed what this little thing recorded onto my tapes!
Over the years of wanting to become content creator and and watched a lot of RUclips videos ( cameras) I end up owning multiple cameras including the beautiful of Samsung Nxmini. Until, I have not yet really start good videos. But, I really appreciate your amazing videos and hard work on every videos, they are amazing.
Really love your channel Markus, with everyone on RUclips spouting all the latest and greatest cameras, you keep it real. I learned very quickly by using a webcam to shoot some of my early videos how important lighting is to get great shots, and it's like talking to a brick wall when people think they need the best cameras. While I do enjoy my Sony camera that has a 6k sensor downscaling to a final 4k image is super crispy, I find my friends get caught up in the hype and I always send them to your channel. I think the stand out reason is throughout my career, i've not had the experience you have in Hollywood. With your background as what I would consider a "real" pro in the movie industry rather than myself in the commercial space, you have worked in the Gold standard of filmmaking and have been through the transition of film to digital and you talk about older cameras and show us that you can get great images. I have to remind myself every camera release that i'm happy with my cameras, yes I would love each body to have all the features, but you know what I have a range of cameras and each has their own speciality. But I find the work arounds really hone your skills as camra operators, and when I show people videos shot with my iphone 6, they think i'm using my expensive cameras not an old phone that Apple probably no longer supports.
I have the Canon SX60 and SX70. The SX70 has some issues with finding and staying in focus in some situations. Not 1" but reasonably good for a "super zoom at 21-1365 for those shots way out there here in the PHILIPPINES.
I always enjoy your videos. You have a great sense of humor and give wonderful advice. Give Cara lots of love, she’s more precious than all of your cameras. See you again at your next video.
the Panasonic FZ2500 (FZ2000 in europe) has a 4K output via HDMI, in 17/9 format (cinema), which can be connected, for example, to a Blackmagic recorder-monitor and obtain recording in Prores, also with the possibility of ND filters.
You packed so much info into one video! The model helps see how the cameras pick up on the individual hairs, the skin tones, and the tweed blazer with the built in test patterns on it! (kidding). I want to get a new camera, but am all over the place on it. Thank you so much for the info packed video you made.
Video cameras for video... I have a Sony 405 which Markus recommended.. More than happy with it for 1080 YT videos (also does stills and blurry background etc.. and a crazy zoom) and... seems realistically there's nothing to really improve on it.. except maybe the Panasonic 981 which seems (like many other camera's) unavailable.
Thank you very much, you make the best videos on the subject of filming and show the differences practically and without unnecessary information. Thank you very much for that and all the best 😉
OMG, the depth of field (just taking some steps back and zooming in) is CRAZY, you can blow everything out of the background with 1inch! Yes it wont work on extremely tight spaces, but if you can manage 2m distance, any 1 inch can make extremely shallow DOF and its LIGHT and has HIGH zoom range with those high mm lenses!
I like watching these because I think some time, some day, I may quite possibly, shoot some video for something or other. But I never do anything. Either there's a time element or there's something else stopping me. So I just basically watch these and fantasize about becoming a filmmaker (Well videographer at any rate).
Funny...I was just searching Craig's for the Sony 405 Camcorder......when I realized " I need to go back to the MarkusPix videos and get the correct model" Nothing was popping in the searches. So I went to RUclips...and here you are....Just posted....Just for me! Wow... Cool. Have a great day everyone even this video was for me.
Your video gives the vibes of those game shows from the 90s but has all the latest technology information needed. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and learnt a lot!
I watched your videos for the last 5 hours! You have reinvigorated my passion for photography. Impossible to find the RX100M7 !! Some for sale, but they are all scammers!
If you want to build out a inexpensive mutli-cam video setup the various sony 1" options are amazing RX10 the mark 1-3 can be hacked to allow unlimited recording - the mark 2 offers a f2.8 lens up to 200mm and the mark 3 up to 600mm!! at f4 ZV-1 amazing little camera with useful 24-70mm f2.8 - especially useful if you need to clamp/mount in a awkward area AX700 - designed for it's job, especially useful if you intend to track a subject as it has phase AF & parfocal lens - whereas the previous two are really more for pre-focused static shots (note need to pair up with a battery bank for the first 2 and for the AX700 ideally a larger battery)
My 2nd last camera was the Sony RX100iii. Two years ago, needing more zoom, I "upgraded" to the Sony RX10iv which is my workhorse today. Excellent for videos as well as for stills. I am not at all surprised that Markus liked it so much. Apart from flash stuff for flashing soft from the side and an interval timer, the only extra stuff you ever need is a circular polarization filter, an ND filter and maybe a tripod now and again. Oh yes, plus a few spare batteries. 😁

@@sidirodromeas That was "felt" 10 mins. Photographing and doing videos it depends whether you use the EVF or not and in the case of video on the quality chosen. I usually manage to drain my battery investigating the menu system. Doing normal work is not much of an issue.
I have AX700 and it's simply amazing how good the autofocus is ... btw, I put a PL filter on the camera, and I shoot in PP10 (picture profile), the colors are amazing and the HDR is outstanding.
Love this channel! Every video is filled to the brim with genuine enthusiasm for cameras, (new and old), accompanied by stunning footage. Keep it up! 🎉 😊
Pocket 3 footage looks amazing. This looks like a new next gen device, like a new category. For active vloging you can't really compare this to the other traditional cameras shown in this video.
Back in my early video days I shot with Sony Prosumer Handy Cams. The sensor was slightly bigger then the standard lower end consumer models. The sensor was smaller than 1 inch and these cams were still small and fit in your hand like any other mini DV camcorder. I had a HDR HC-90 that was only SD. Then I bought a Siny HDR HC-7 That was HD. My footage looked really great for the time and agree sensor size is not always a factor to consider. My go to camera is my Canon R7. I have an older 5D mark III. But don't use it anymore. My oldest wants to get into ASTRO photography. So I gave it to him. We've just lacked the time for me to teach him all it's functions.

I bought my wife the Sony RX10 IV in 2019. We took it the the Firefight concert in Sydney. I could zoom all the way in to the make of the keyboard on stage from all the way at the other end of the stadium. No digital zoom. While everyone else was pointing their phones at the big screens.

Thank you Markus! This is just the video I needed. I’ll be at a concert in the second row this summer, and I was looking for a compact zoom camera to use for photos and some short video clips. I’ll also need a new iPhone soon, and I was trying to compare the 3x zoom of the 15 Pro to see how it might compare to something like the RX100 Vii or the Lumix options in this video. I almost considered the 15 Pro Max with its 5x zoom, but still don’t think it can compare to one of these. The timing of this video was perfect! 🙂
You’d assume that the term “1-inch sensor” is based on the size of the camera sensor and that it has a diameter of 1 inch. Logically, that’d make sense; however, it isn’t quite the case. In fact, a “1-inch sensor” measures in at 13.2mm x 8.8mm with a 15.86mm diagonal - far from the 1-inch (25.4mm) diagonal we’d expect. So, where does the term come from if not the actual size? It’s actually a reference to very early camera technology. In the 1930s, video cameras used glass vacuum tubes that transmitted electrons down the length of the tube to the photosensitive sensor. The outer diameter of these tubes grew in sizer from ½ inch to ⅔ inch and finally 1 inch, but the actual photosensitive sensor was always much smaller - usually around two-thirds of the diameter of the tube. However, since the tubes were technically part of the image-sensing technology, manufacturers could market them as 1-inch sensors. So why are phone camera sensors being referred to as 1-inch sensors? It essentially comes down to the size of the sensor, which is the same size as the sensor that would’ve connected to a 1-inch vacuum tube (a minimum of 9 x 12mm) in an early video camera.
You mean someone putting some facts out there so that people don't think that a 1 inch sensor is actually 1 inch in size? You should have put this information in your video instead of waiting for someone else to mention it @@MarkusPix
You just stated it yourself it is 25.4 mm, and if we wanna go nitpicking, I've actually never heard of a phone camera sensor that is 1". People must really love you at the parties.
Oh, you really are a thicko. 1 inch is 25.4mm but a 1 inch sensor is only 15.86mm diagonally. So it's pretty much half an inch. Why are you trying to defend the indefensible? Maybe whiny Markus could make a point of educating thick people like you so they're not fooled into thinking that 1 inch sensors are actually 1 inch in size. Now there's a shocking idea! @@donniebunkerboi9975

I’m glad we got the Pocket 3 bird shot. Thanks for a fun video.
😄
Yea pocket 3 zoom like hell , need to look for a bird with microscope 🔬
I got the osmo 3 recently and am so happy. basically no zooming, but it is so compact and impressive. one could shoot full on projects with it!
I literally laughed out loud that you did the bird shot with it at the end!
What a great video Markus! thank you for sharing and bringing love to the one inch format
Love the model! Such a beautiful lady very photogenic ❤. Thanks for your content!
The bird shot with the Pocket 3 at the end 😂
Sony AX100 and CX900 are my most favorite video cameras I have ever owned!!!!
You're more than just a content creator, you're one of a kind!!
Such a beautiful model. Your video wouldn't be the same without her.
Thank you
I love the final shot, I nearly spray my breakfast out from laughing. Thanks Markus
A nerd looks for specs and an artist looks for potential 😊
The Pocket 3 "bird shot" at the end... 😂
I love my Lumix FZ 2500. It has great features for video and for photography.
I agree
Hang on to your Osmo 3. It makes a good humorous break in your videos. I loved the shot of the bird.
the Panasonic FZ2500 (FZ2000 in europe) has a 4K output via HDMI, in 17/9 format (cinema), which can be connected, for example, to a Blackmagic recorder-monitor and obtain recording in Prores, also with the possibility of ND filters.
Markus you love your toys don't you? Even looking at cameras, they look beautiful. It's great when we don't have to grow up.
You packed so much info into one video! The model helps see how the cameras pick up on the individual hairs, the skin tones, and the tweed blazer with the built in test patterns on it! (kidding). I want to get a new camera, but am all over the place on it. Thank you so much for the info packed video you made.
Glad it was helpful!
Although this video was made in 2024, it gives me the 2000s vibes, like the Supernatural series! Love it
Thank you, Cara! Thanks, Markus! I still prefer a camcorder for video, but I'm old school.
Its just a fun hobby for me. Some people like to go fishing or read books, I like playing with cameras
Two words. Great job. And another but should be first two words, Great Model.
Very nice comparison review Mr. Markus. And a hearty thanks to Ms. Cara for her visual participation (of course).
Thanks for watching!
Your video gives the vibes of those game shows from the 90s but has all the latest technology information needed.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching and learnt a lot!
OMG! NX-Mini blows my mind!
I like the 90's-2000s look of this video.
I learn so much from your videos, thanks Markus and Cara!
I enjoy using my Sony DSC -HX 50 with the 30 zoom . Great all around inexpensive camera and good build quality.
THAT ENDING WITH THE BIRD HAHAHA
I watched your videos for the last 5 hours! You have reinvigorated my passion for photography. Impossible to find the RX100M7 !! Some for sale, but they are all scammers!
If you want to build out a inexpensive mutli-cam video setup the various sony 1" options are amazing
RX10 the mark 1-3 can be hacked to allow unlimited recording - the mark 2 offers a f2.8 lens up to 200mm and the mark 3 up to 600mm!! at f4
ZV-1 amazing little camera with useful 24-70mm f2.8 - especially useful if you need to clamp/mount in a awkward area
AX700 - designed for it's job, especially useful if you intend to track a subject as it has phase AF & parfocal lens - whereas the previous two are really more for pre-focused static shots
(note need to pair up with a battery bank for the first 2 and for the AX700 ideally a larger battery)
Samsung what in the world!! Super impressive. Great video. Thanks to you two for shiningg through every time.
I was IN LOVE with the Samsung N X cameras!
I love the lumix fz2500 my favourite camera i wish they would update it.
I love the NX-MINI so much I bought a second one. I wish I could find a lens adapter for it though. 😞
His comment at 4:40 about Sony RX10iv 10 mins battery life is not fair and 'suspicious'. @@sidirodromeas That was "felt" 10 mins. Photographing and doing videos it depends whether you use the EVF or not and in the case of video on the quality chosen. I usually manage to drain my battery investigating the menu system. Doing normal work is not much of an issue.
what about the performance of the cameras in night (low light), visions ?
OK, the Pocket 3 "bird shot" at the end was funny.
I have AX700 and it's simply amazing how good the autofocus is ... btw, I put a PL filter on the camera, and I shoot in PP10 (picture profile), the colors are amazing and the HDR is outstanding.
Yes the AX700 is the most dependable AF camera ever. Simply amazing.
Love this channel! Every video is filled to the brim with genuine enthusiasm for cameras, (new and old), accompanied by stunning footage. Keep it up! 🎉 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
WOW Samsung NX mini! I look forward to it. The design is pretty too.
That title is so specific I fridgin love it
Pocket 3 footage looks amazing.

How do you get this amazing sound ? A boom mic? It sound crazy good.
I LOVE your passion for the craft and the tools!
I think you are the best reviewer, just goes to the most important parts no spec sheets bulls. 😂 thank you
I love that you do these videos. Recently bought the sonys, will take me awhile to get them dialed in.
I own two LX15 and used to have the AX700. I still need the facility of interchangeable lenses with my professional Sony cameras like the a7s3 and a7iv and G9 but always been a fan of 1" sensor cameras
Amazing as always
I bought my wife the Sony RX10 IV in 2019. We took it the the Firefight concert in Sydney. I could zoom all the way in to the make of the keyboard on stage from all the way at the other end of the stadium. No digital zoom. While everyone else was pointing their phones at the big screens.
I'm with you on the RX100, mine is the Mk IV, with a shorter zoom, But yes, the quality is really superb.
Thanks for the great video. I'm priced out of new cameras so don't keep up with them too much so this was a nice round up of these inch sensors.
Happy to see you didn't forget about the lovely NX Mini, I´m designing and selling 3D printed adapters, to use vintage lenses with it, they are on Cults 3D.
Just amazing.. as well as the feeling of being humbled. Always love this channel, Practical and inspiring lnowledge.
Subscribed! Really excellent comparison and knowledge transfer :)
I wholeheartedly recommend the RX100-7, but if the price is a bit too steep, the RX100-5a which has the 24-70 35-quiv zoom.
Nicely presented. Loved your enthusiasm and energy
Glad you enjoyed it!
i heard you say in another video you thought about closing your RUclips channel after reading negative or biased comments.
Please don’t ! it’s part & parcel of anybody that is open to comments.
Please carry on for the rest of us !
!! Thank you !!
I wasn't getting negative comments, it was just the people saying stupid stuff like they wouldnt even consider a camera unless it did 10 bit 422 and had 4K 60 etc. Spec obsessed brainwashed masses.
@@MarkusPix Adam the Woo closed his channel for a few years because of comments. it was a tragedy. Thank you for your great insights, videos, & sharing your experience. Thank you !
Thank you for this amazing video. Learned so much.
I've got a ZS200 I'm about to sell so thank you for this video to increase the prices!
I knew there'd be one of these in the crowd.
You mean someone putting some facts out there so that people don't think that a 1 inch sensor is actually 1 inch in size? You should have put this information in your video instead of waiting for someone else to mention it
@@MarkusPix
Oh, and there are over a dozen phones that have a 1 inch sensor. And by 1 inch sensor I mean about half an inch. @@donniebunkerboi9975
hehehehe, incredible review of this Marcus and his genius, so many cameras and so many options on the market and how difficult it is to decide when there is no Marcus out there to guide us XD
oh and Cara as always, beautiful, spontaneous and tender, what a great duo you guys are!!
A separate point was the cute owl you used for the tests, Marcus, my sister loved that owl XD
Another great video, thanks again!
I’d love to play around with one of those big cameras. Probably too many settings but I’d learn a lot.
You'll need a Doctorate to operate the "Cadillac" Sony RX10 M4 but its worth it when you do.
Stacey's mom has got it goin' on. Also, good camera comparisons.
