So professional in every way. Sometimes I get bored of interesting subject because of the way it's presented. This video was straight to the point no bull....
Absolutely love your guys work. Here in Canada its tough to find a good condition OM606. I hope to soon find a gem somewhere for a "shop truck build". Keep up the great work boys!
Today i watched the american youtube channel the channel of the video was like 2jz diesel 6k rpm and i heard your name and right away clicked on and saw the wonderfull world of this engine!! Well done guys keep us entertained with these videos Happy new year!
You want a great tip for easy gasket alignment, tiny zip ties 4 corners and one in the middle, start you bolts in the remaining holes so they’re just in the hole and not clamping and cut the zip ties off and pull them out, make sure you can get to the zip tie once it’s in position, sometimes on water pumps that can be tricky and you have to zip tie different holes
21:47, yep the first THING in my garage, a ruler! Ha-ha, I love the 47-54 Chevy/GMC trucks, 55-59 also 64-66 also, well 67- well I like all Chevy GMC trucks ha-ha, I even have a 50, 55, 57, 58, 59, and 68GMC and a57 Holmes tow truck, I'd like to get into diesel with one of these engines, and a couple turbos!!
Just spent a lot of today watching your excellent videos. Bit of a trip down memory lane, in so far as the "old school" technology.... I started my working life as a hgv apprentice mechanic in 1978....engines were quite a bit bigger but essentially the same as the OM606, albeit OHV. As a matter of interest will a 606 work with my 2007 Sprinter 315cdi campervan?
Any chance someone can share the PN for that torque converter opening cap/cover? I can't find it on a parts diagram, but it looks like Luke has it here (it's the part in the packaging). (checked the DPUK website but couldn't find it on there either)
Please release a kit like this for the om617a!!! lots of engine conversions running modified oil pans due to the front sump setup, I think there's still a market for it.
how do you prime your 606 before startup? I have the rear sump setup and I have turned it over for a few minutes but I haven't built oil pressure yet. I have heard that the oil pumps aren't set up for "suck" they are more "push" pumps.
would now be a good time to tell you, you missed doing the final 90* pull on the second main cap? seriously now, I've heard the rear sump has slightly different transmission bolt hole location. So does your adapter plate been drilled accordingly?
Your work is neat and professional Because of you, I thought I'd modify an om606 engine How much does it all cost me? Fuel injection pump, turbo and everything .....ext pleas
Hi i just want to ask do I need any ECU to swaping om606 in 190E ? I mean for crankshaft sensor and other sensors too ? And ignition switch? Tnx plz answer
what engine are the oil sump with the rear sump from? beware, OM603/606 are equal lenght oilpump chain, mb320 as some use i think oil sump from, is one link shorter\longer i think. dont remember exactly though :)
I know the 2jz's have siamese cylinder bores do these have siamese bores as well? Not hating, just really curious if that's one of the secrets to this engines strength
I have om602, 250d stock engine with 90hp and 10valves. Is it possible to make my engine to have 200-250hp with turbo and some light modification? I know as example for om606 super turbo 500hp we need big turbo, big intercooler, oilcooler, massive boshpump and fuelpump and remap ofc. But I dont look for that, I am looking for "minimal & neccessery" modifications to upgrade my om602 to 200hp, and to have normal consumption when I drive normal hahaha. Any suggustions? Thank You!😁🔥
Rods, pump, turbo, waterpump w/pulley and 5/6 cooling mod. Egr d e l e t e. Intercooler. Hit Luke up through his site he has been extremely helpful to me in my build and their work is top notch💪🙌
No Luke, we here in the states call all chevy/gmc, since the government bailed them out about 10 years ago. We started calling them GovernmentMotors kinda like "CNN" CrapNewsNetwork.

My mother is from england. I was born here in the states. I found my odd ball swap! Cheve powered om606!
Will you guys be trying compound turbo setups? :D
I like your engine swaps keep up the good work I keep on going
I'm planning on doing this exact setup (with maybe a few more add-on niceties) in a 1970's Chevrolet C-10 truck.
Does this setup work for M104.991 engine?
Love this im more familiar with 617 but i loved the video. Great instruction too.

Great explanation and fitting instructions. 👍🏽😎
Why doesn't rear seal come in sump kit???
Do you guys do engine package deals?

Hey! To get the same effect on om605 do I need to use a Bowl Sump from om647?
kolik litrů oleje je obsaženo v této koupeli minimum a maximum díky za odpověď
Does this work in a W124, and is there a benefit? I would imagine under heavy acceleration a rear dump is preferable.
Cant seem to find the rear sump kit on your site
Is it ok to delete the throttle butterfly on these engines because I did this to my TOYOTA estima 2.2 td and it made so much difference.
Shouldn't you have replaced the bolts since they're torque to yield?
Yes
Hmm ...does it come default with no strainer or filter on the oil pickup ?
was the rear main seal ptfe or rubber? the first one isn't supposed to be greased
this answered a question I made on another vid of yours
Hi i just want to ask do I need any ECU to swaping om606 in 190E ? I mean for crankshaft sensor and other sensors too ? And ignition switch? Tnx plz answer
i want to know how much cost engine like that
no screen on the pick up tube?
what engine are the oil sump with the rear sump from? beware, OM603/606 are equal lenght oilpump chain, mb320 as some use i think oil sump from, is one link shorter\longer i think. dont remember exactly though :)
Could you do a video of different ways to install a oil pressure gauge and maybe a exhaust pressure gauge please ?
Why would you want to not find a way to keep the windage tray?
this sumps are from w210 om613 or w211 om648 diesels
yes they are!
Есть ли разница в давлении масла родного насоса и насоса от om648?

сколько литров масла входит в ету ванну минимум и максимум спасибо за ответ
Can this sump kit be used on a OM603 turbo diesel?
How is the Chevy 3100 pickup coming along ???
So what is going to happen with the charger?
I know the 2jz's have siamese cylinder bores do these have siamese bores as well? Not hating, just really curious if that's one of the secrets to this engines strength
which oil pump is it ? whats it out of
for your gaskets always use HYLAMAR . That's what RR uses for their head gaskets
umm i thought the main cap stretch bolts should have been replaced and not re-used
do you have any experience with 4-matic gearbox. how much power can it hold. (300td 1989 om603)

I see the Loctite coppers gave you a thumb down already. 🤣🤣
Are the main cap bolts reusable in these engines?
If they are torqued to a degree, they are usually torque to yield. He's reusing them, so I assume it shouldn't be an issue.
Can an OM606 be swapped in to a AMG W204 ?
Hey Luke, are you selling these kits again anytime soon?
There is one for om605 engine?
I am working on a 80 Chevy truck and want to do the om606 in it.. just saving up for parts...
is this kit still available?
Was there different generations of this engine it looks way bigger than I remember unless that's a small man
He's probably 5'7-5'9 max.. those welding curtains are often quite short.
What’s the best oil for this engine Guys?
when w140 superturbo diesel?
I wait for the running car with 600 hp videos
Why do you hate the M57? it is just as strong, as the om606
I'd love to put one in a LS400 Lexus, but to do it for refinement and economy, not for black smoke and loud power and speed off the mark.
Om613 sump?
680 hp?
What would you need to do to the engine to make 600 hp?
Rods, pump, turbo, waterpump w/pulley and 5/6 cooling mod. Egr d e l e t e. Intercooler. Hit Luke up through his site he has been extremely helpful to me in my build and their work is top notch💪🙌
😎👍
Приветствую вас! Удачи вам! Процветания канала!
90 degrees would be for a new bolt.
How much oil in litres?
He said nine and a half liters, which is 2.51 US gallons
Luke is it worth having the rear most sump bolts with a larger diametre shoulder to locate the sump. Or does each sump differ greatly
I want one in a 740 iL!
I want a om606 in my defender or a cummins
Just do it! 👍🏻

anyone know some tricks to get an unprimed oil pump to suck oil ?
Vaseline
Pour oil directly into the oil filter housing then close it up and crank the engine.
Can buy it from you!!
That Chevy's going to be bad to the bone !
I think that would fit a P38 range rover
Start it up !!!!!! Start it up !!!!!!! LOL
