Their DESIGN has aged perfectly, too. A bat combined with a scorpion and alien face-hugger is such a creative fusion, and something I’ve only ever really seen here in Pokémon! I also appreciate it all being a big “haha scorpion fly” joke, even if it gives worrying context to what their stinger actually is.

IIRC Gligar was good in UU, but without the tools they get in gen 4 they likely wouldn’t be able to handle OU whether its Gligar or Gliscor, no stealth rocks and Skarmory just completely blanks it, even if you remove skarm with Magneton(something which is really only worth doing for genuine threats like Snorlax and Metagross) it will struggle with stuff like bulky rest-talk Suicune, Starmie, ice beam Blissey, Swampert, etc. ADV OU is extremely different to gen 4 OU and a Gliscor without stealth rock would struggle, only role it could really fill is rock resist on superman teams in the place of Flygon where it might have a decent niche for a team that prefers the different resistances/neutralities of flying/ground compared to ground/dragon. It isn’t a strictly better mon than Flygon though since Flygon isn’t weak to water, resists fire, and can run fire blast to threaten Skarms that would love to face Gliscor on superman teams(since superman teams just cannot afford to run Magneton without becoming horribly inconsistent)
You should make a video talking about the gen 3 "200 metagame" because I think it's one of the most overlooked things about competitive pokemon ever and apparently slaking was king there? I don't know much about it. It would also be interesting to know more about those "half generations" such as diamond and pearl without platinum where hypnosis was 70% accuracy and scizor didn't have bullet punch or the "weather meta" of black and white 1 without the genies therian forms and without sheer force landorus, where all weather was legal and every team was sand rush, swift swim or clorophyl basically. I've always loved gliscor, back in XY before I even knew of the competitive scene I grinded (ground?)so much for that hidden ability gliscor because I thought it was cool. Imagine the joy when I found out they were good!

So, if you do the setup correctly, Gliscor can recover 25% HP back with Toxic Heal, Lefties, and Grassy Terrian (which does require your Tera). I did use it along Glimmora, Terrian Extender Rillaboom, and Cinderace Court Change and pivot into Gliscor then start beating my opponent's head in. Gliscor is unkillable and god tier.
The crazy thing about Poison Heal is that you can literally half its healing (to become Leftovers) and it’ll still be a great ability. Being immune to status and not caring about Knock Off is extremely strong

offensive gliscor is not nearly as good as its defensive hazard stacking counterpart+knockoff, uturn and facade are generally better options in SD sets
Gliscor has aged perfectly as long as you don’t pay attention to that chunk of time in SM UU where Gliscor was there and its rise drove its replacement with Gligar.
Gliscor is basically the new and improved skarmory now. A spikes monster that Is also physically bulky, resistance and immunity laden and have reliable recovery. Except with gliscor it doesn't even need to use a move to heal, fear status or crumple to even neutral special attacks from something that isn't a wallbreaker.
Gligar was my first legit shiny ever so Gliscor always has a special place in my heart.Glad to see my boy doing great even in this chaotic gen 9 meta lol.
I wanna' experiment with Gliscor in doubles. Potentially running Life Orb over Toxic Orb and running a partner with Toxic (Like Grafaiai because of Prankster). The damage from Life Orb is offset by its healing. Maybe running tera-normal for Facade or tera-water for defensive uses. Tera-ground to power-up Earthquake and so on. I love how versatile it is in this gen.
One of the decent amount of Mons I actually like from Singles when I play and bring over to use in vgc (and usually do well with), love me some Gliscor
